Ah! Maybe I'm normal after all! Everybody I know thinks I'm loopy because I keep a photo catalogue of all the cars I've owned (1966 - 2018). Thanks for another great vid, Ian.
Me too, got a hard drive with individually named folders for all the cars I've owned and the adventures we've been on. Nowhere near as many as Ian (probably still less than a dozen) but all of them were great in their own way and a big part of life at the time. I have 3 cars sitting outside (on a driveway with room for just 1...thanks neighbours for giving up some space) and this video makes me feel pretty normal afterall ;) My car catalogue is '05-18' I like that Mr. Nut had had many a Citroen in his life. One of my fav manufacturers. I've never owned one myself but both a long time ex girlfriend had an AX we bought together which we took all over the country and never missed a beat. Sister had one as her first car too which she says was her favourite car, her second being the £250 Toyota I bought for her 2 Christmas' ago after a lot of misfortune which has barely needed to be touched to this day. This year we both learned how to service it and do various things on it ourselves thanks to these channels on TH-cam and a desire to finally learn some mechanical stuff myself.
I have not, I have a _really_ good memory, and never saw the need, but... its not so easy to share them, that said, I will be having a think on my own list
Wow, that was such an enjoyable look into Hubnuts life. He has owned so many beautiful cars. I fall in love with my cars too much to sell them so quickly. My favorites of his fleet would probably be the Tobacco leaf P6, the Renault 21(brown), Audi 100(dull but loved) and the Citroen CX wagon(is that super rare? don't see many wagons). I think the funniest photo was the Volvo wagon where Hubnut is looking down covering his face because he's so pissed off at that car. HEHE. Great video.
Ian, you are so Lucky to have been sensible enough to photograph your cars. I have been through many, many cars over 35 years driving but have very few photos of them. Nice video, I enjoyed that!
I had one of these as well , very smart with alloy wheels, cheap to run , comfortable but made my hands tingle with the engine vibration on the steering wheel.
what a nice vehicle history :) I started my driving career being 7 or 8 years old an a Eicher tractor and a W114 200D. Later on I got some pratice in my dad's Passat B1 and when I had my drivers license I was forced to drive his Peugeot 305 as I couldn't afford a own car. I hated that thing... My first own one was a Golf II, what a surprise for a German. After crashing that it was followed by a Mazda 626 GD which I drove quite some years as it didn't make any problems at all. Then I bought an Alfa Romeo 75, this car wasn't that problem-free... So I bought another 626 GD, a 16V with 4 wheel steering which turned out to be a rust bucket. I was offered a BMW E34 535 then. I couldn't resist and didn't regret. A Van ran a red light and wrecked it. So I drove a W124 200D automatic of a great uncle who gave up driving until a cousin managed to crash it because he was going too fast... I bought a Volvo 945 Turbo then, had it for 10 years and traded it for a better one last year. I'm absolutely happy with that and the fact I have a Yaris Hybird as a company car since a few days ago ;)
Wow! Thought I'd had a wide variety of cars over the years, but you put me to shame! Particularly love ed the Citroen H and Bedford CF vans for some peculiar reason. I share your love of Citroens. BX's x6, Xantias, Picasso, ZX Volcane diesel, and still have my very early AX GT mk1 on an E plate. Excellent review there Ian
Hi Ian! For some reason I did miss this slide show. Great! It reminds me a little bit of my car adventures when I was quite younger... (not so many cars!)
I want most of those cars that are on your list, especially the 16 valve BX. Father's boss had a diesel BX without the rev limiter. Blew past my dad doing 90 on the motorway home.
I’ve only just recently found you on Jyou Tube and I am absolutely hooked. Your knowledge and enthusiasm is most infectious. I loved the Marina special and was reminded of my move to Wales in 1978 where a work colleague allowed to board at his home and he had a blue 1.8 TC which I thought was fabulous. The girl across the lane from him became my wife and we still live in Wales after all this time!
So glad this popped up again! Enjoyed watching it once more. Some nice cars at never to be repeated prices. Made me think back to my past rigs and wish I took more photos. If you see this, how about doing a photographic review of all the cars that you’ve had since the start of HubNut channel? It would be a good catch up for all the new subscribers and would also encourage some more views on the older videos as folk seek them out. 👍🏻
Great thanks for sharing, Some great memories, My first car in 1996 was a ‘86 Scimitar SS1 1600cc Best car I ever owned, sadly missed Reg C360 KMW Long life Queen Elly
What a great trip down memory lane. You are obviously keen to enter into the unknown by changing your vehicles so often, they do say variety is the spice of life. Such a relaxing video.
Some real gems there, some of which I didn't even know existed and a good few nostalgia trips for good measure! Took me right back to my childhood with some of those 90's models!
Interesting history,H Van,only wish we could see you driving that in your videos.Reminds me of the old saying;"If wishes were horses, then beggars would ride".Good Job!
Lovely trip down motor memory lane, @Hubnut you are a brave man changing cars so often, the Rover 3500 to Isuzu was a big surprise !! Of my cars the Peugeot 205 Junior 1.8 diesel is one car I would have liked to keep if I had a barn! Might even buy a 2CV one day, they have character which is rare in modern cars.
A great history there. I know what you mean about that car you can never let go. I have had my 90 since 05 and although little remains of the original vehicle i bought, i can’t imagine life without it.
As I've watched a lot of your Video's.. You have turned me info a lover of these.. Diesel Peugeot Partner 2011 Tepee.. I will be picking up a 2011 one in White on Monday.. I'm so looking forward to getting behind the wheel.. Love what you do. !!!! Thank you..
Great Video Of Your Cars Ian! Always Great To See A Passionate Car Enthusiasts Cars! Many Memories There. I Should Have Kept A Full Photo Record Of My 36+ Cars!

Metro - Agree 100%! What a fun car to drive and live with. Had a great time filling it with family, adding a roof rack and long trips. But there were the BL bits to live with that I appear to have forgotten.
A couple of relatable ones for me. In the late 90's I regularly drove a diesel Maestro. What a bucket that was. Once you managed to get it up to motorway speeds your thoughts would invariably go to "should I just hit it and carry on" before bothering the brake pedal. The Austin Metro. I had an 87 or 88 one, can't remember exactly which. Loved it. The biggest thrills were from getting it up to 80+ mph and watching the entire dashboard shake like a spin dryer.
Really enjoyed this! Citroen BX was a classic - I had a 1.9 diesel in 1991and loved it. The turbo diesel version was plenty quick. I agree with you regarding the Isuzu Trooper. I had the Vauxhall version (Monterey) and it was dreadful with endless starting problems and yes, the gear ratios were hopeless. I got rid of it within a few weeks. Not a patch on the Discovery.
Great history and so many... rather interesting cars! But at the end , the 2cv was the only one who really won your heart (apart from Mrs Hubnut of course 😉😉).
Thank you VERY much, that vid triggered vast numbers of memories I thought I'd forgotten, & at 84 I've forgotten a lot. Been a petrol/diesel head since schooldays, drew car designs in my exercise books instead of listening. Straight from Technical school into the motor trade, one of last National service, into REME, worked on Centurion tanks, wish I'd written a book but was a grease Monkey (from Hartlepool) not a pen pusher. Specialised on fault finding & usually fixing. Sold BMW's, & Merc service agent
You talking over a load of old photos really works! What an amazing history some good cars and some not so good. Loved it can't wait for part 2! My car history would take about 20 seconds but its quite varied. Skoda Estelle, Nissan sunny, Citroen BX (what a mistake!!), Nissan Bluebird (Bloody Exellent car), Nissan Almera, Nissan Almera, Nissan Tino, Nissan Qashqai, Nissan Xtrail, Mini Cooper, Ford Focus (Don't ask!), Mini One and finally Mini Cooper Convertable which is undoubtedly the best car I've ever owned! So that's 1994 to 2018 for me!
@@HubNutmine wasn't good. I was very nieve! Heater matrix was missing, hydrologic pump leaked and cooling fan knackered. Great tech for the time but I managed to get a lemon.
That was terrific, thankyou! Allegro vdp looks very familiar, pretty sure that it ended its days in Cornwall with an overheated and seized engine..I had the radiator grill hanging up in my garage until our last house move five years ago.
Not many people have commented on the 21. I remember hiring one in France in the year 2000 and thinking it was a really impressive car: felt solid, fast and a nice ride. I think it was a 2.0 TS or TX 4 door variant. I still remember it now so it must have been good. I liked the way the instrument panel had a sort of canopy over it. What a brilliant video, quite unexpected and a truly individualistic choice of car for which I applaud you! A man after my own heart for the odd and unloved cars out there. Loving the BXs and Austin Metros will always have a special place in my heart - that whine in 1st is heavenly. My Nan had a Primula Yellow 1.3L - A191WDM. That is one car I’d bring back. Thank you for sharing your story!
Awesome video I used to change my cars every few weeks as one of my friends was a car dealer when me and my dad counted them up it came to over 100, Some of my favourites were the Lancia beta, Rover P6 and for fun had to be the Escort MK 1 which me and my dad rebuilt from a bare restored shell into a Mexico replica.
Love your videos mate keep them coming. It's so nice to see these old cars still going. I remember the Allegro as a kid. My favourite car was the Rover SD.
i can remember my dad having an old Austin Allegro, white with a black stripe down the side. and he had no end of problems with it at the time..and then it ended up in the junk yard.
Thats quite a variety of interesting stuff! Makes me wish I'd been more adventurous choosing cars. Also an excellent bit of escapism I really needed, thank you!
Man youve had a proper mix of cars over the years! Always drawn back to the French motors tho. Your Audi.. had the 100 as well, the one before yours. Wasnt great to be honest but the 5 cylinder warble was lovely, partly why ive got my 850 t5 now. That old yellow one you didnt like looked like an old Herald.
Thoroughly enjoyed watching this vid. You've had a good number of cars. I have only really owned vw's, outside of that I had a smashing 97 Citroën xsara diesel. My later attempts at a Citroën c4 coupe was probably my last French car experience. I have to say everything is down to luck, but I like your willingness to venture across the car manufacturers over the years.
What a great history of your cars, and wisely only one ford! Think I got to the thirtys with my non descript collection. So many people forget the ordinary cars so it's great to see a photo collection of your personal collection , loved that p6.
This is by far my favorite video. So relaxing and nice background music. So nice to see where young Ian all started. I really would’ve mind more video’s about your (car) history 👍🏻 I wish I had a place to work on my car, like you always had. I live in a busy city in The Netherlands so I will have to do that on the street and I’m shure that’s illegal somehow. Well, maybe one day 😄
Love that you owned Citroen BX's !! It was my favorite car to drive but after 2 years I realized that I had replaced almost every part on it..... and the replacements were starting to fail again.(and the parts always failed 1-2 weeks after their warranty had expired) Fun times..
A great video Ian and a wonderfully eclectic gallery of cars. Got me thinking about my own automotive history which began in 1979 with a 1965 Austin 1100 (no synchromesh on 1st gear so my father patiently taught me to double declutch) unfortunately I wrote it off within a few months and replaced it with a much nicer 1970 Morris 1300.
Very cool to see the cars. I’ve also owned a lot of cars, but I’ve owned more motorcycles and scooters. Right now, I’ve controlled myself, and only have SYM Fiddle 3 scooter, and a 66 beetle. I’ve had my beetle since 2006. Very cool to see Mrs HubNut working on her car.
I really enjoyed that! Thank you! Loving the P6's and the Brown 21 is like a dream come true, cant remember the last time I saw one on the road. Also never realised you had quite so many 2CV's before Elly either..... Brilliant Video.....
God, I thought I was bad for changing cars, but boy oh boy! You have me beat hands down. Great to watch though, and a great insight into where your passion comes from :)
Really love the look of that Westminster - for a car nearly 50 years old, it looked beautiful. Only wish I had the knowledge/skills to be able to keep something like that on the road. Thanks for the vid.
Wow what a great collection of motor's I wish I'd owned more to be honest. although saying that mine is more suited to the unexceptional lol. It all started with a mini based kitcar that I still own today (Minijem GT mk2). then an MG Metro, a couple of Pug 309's, a maestro clubman D, a Citroen Xantia (still a favourite), a mk 2 Espace (all time fav car iv had), Pug 406 estate, Espace mk3, Pug 306, Citroen Xsara, Citroen Xsara Picasso, and Now a Jag X type estate. So mostly french as you can see. Thanks for sharing. I'm looking forwards to seeing pt 2
A quite substantial fleet with a 2CV esque constant. I seem to recall being told that the design requirement for the 2CV included being able to drive across a ploughed field with a tray of eggs on the seat without breaking or dislodging any and possibly looking like it was made from war surplus nissen hut ( and probably in one)
A wonderful fourteen minutes of peace in an otherwise hectic and trying day. Thank you :)
This is a business opportunity right there...

Love that you owned Citroen BX's !! It was my favorite car to drive but after 2 years I realized that I had replaced almost every part on it..... and the replacements were starting to fail again.(and the parts always failed 1-2 weeks after their warranty had expired) Fun times..
Sitting here giggling at this list of terrible cars, worse than my car history , love it, keep up the good work.
Love the Mini
Very cool to see the cars. I’ve also owned a lot of cars, but I’ve owned more motorcycles and scooters. Right now, I’ve controlled myself, and only have SYM Fiddle 3 scooter, and a 66 beetle. I’ve had my beetle since 2006. Very cool to see Mrs HubNut working on her car.
What a great video Ian. Tempted to do something similar myself. Surprised I missed this one!
I really enjoyed that! Thank you! Loving the P6's and the Brown 21 is like a dream come true, cant remember the last time I saw one on the road. Also never realised you had quite so many 2CV's before Elly either..... Brilliant Video.....
My first car was a Daihatsu Charade. A great car, I could fix many things by myself. It had nearly 200.000 km on the clock, as I sold it.
I remember the 2CV/Mini/Civic from the AR Online forums meny years ago. Keep up the good work
Impressive car history. Really like the BX 16v & the Renault 5!
I want to smoke weed and travel in that Bedford van. This is a very relaxed video, I'm enjoying the trip with you down memory lane.
great idea, liked that..i once sat in an allegro vandum plas in a scrapyard in stoke........and it was the same brown colour...
Recently started watching your videos Ian. Must say very inspirational. Keep doing what you enjoy most 😊
God, I thought I was bad for changing cars, but boy oh boy! You have me beat hands down. Great to watch though, and a great insight into where your passion comes from :)
Great vid Ian. Eclectic is the word :-)
Enjoyed that video, a real mixed bag of wonderful automotive randomness!
That was really interesting you have had many cracking cars wish I had the bottle to buy a classic and drive it miles like you do.... Well done Cheers
Really interesting video Ian..fascinating to see a rundown of your car history.Unfortunately a lot are a very rare sight nowadays.
My the looks of it your Grey 2CV is still going! It had an MOT in February this year!
Many thanks Ian, great collection of cars. (Must dig out the photographs of my 'fleet' over the years.)
Love the blue Citroen van!
