      @@rjk69 That's what I just said Sparky.
      But the most dangerous and aggressive circumstances you can see a cattle in, is a Cow who has just had her Calf took off her to be veal. They have to be separated from the herd in a field by them self until they get over it, because them mad with grief, and they will kill you. If you in a tractor, they will kill the tractor too.

    Thats really cool, In the US they don't have open foot paths through farmland, our farmers would be chasing you down with an AR15 as soon as you left your car to escort you off their property.

    • @David-qn9wu
      @David-qn9wu 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is pretty cool, but it's not exactly open footpaths over here as it may seem. We have some public footpaths through farm land but some farm land has zero public access. I am not exactly sure how much choice farmers have about public footpaths on their land the local council would decide that I think. But their land is definitely not free to roam and even if there is a footpath through their land, you are not allowed to stray from the path. So if the path was in the middle or edge of a field and the river is on the other side technically you wouldn't be able to access the river without trespassing. Also farmers in the UK don't generally have AR15'S however most have 12gauge shot guns and have been known to shoot people on their land using salt in the cartridges instead of lead shot, painful but not deadly at least.

    Awesome fish Graeme! I'm not in the least surprised with that big chub. 99% of my fishing is done in tiny streams like that, I just love catching fish that other people don't even know exist.

    • @BUSHCRAPPING
      @BUSHCRAPPING 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      me too mate, but i never come across chub like this???? any tips for the big ones, when i fish tiny streams they top out at about 1lb. i am not one to chase numbers and digits but a bigger fish would be nice

    • @ASHJBKH2
      @ASHJBKH2 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BUSHCRAPPING i find breadflake can sort out the bigger ones sometimes as its a larger bait. Lure fishing (which is my most common method) can throw up surprises as well, i like mepps spinners best or sometimes a rubber jig. Maybe target the deeper bends and pools. Luckily for me though there's lots of fish between 2-3lb in my local river

    • @BUSHCRAPPING
      @BUSHCRAPPING 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      never normally fish bread my local river is just like this with some faster sections i catch fish, dace,brownie,chub,grayling but never big ones the biggest ever was a 3.5lb brownie but that was a one off atleast i know the big ones are there, i do lure fish mostly spinners but usually on ponds the river is very snaggy and a jungle and shallow ha so its hard to find enough swims worth walking the distance for a few casts. my usual method for these tiny river multispecies is a worm under a float i feel like with such a nice juicy bait i dont really need to worry about groundbait and also my theory is worms and maggots are a "natural" food whereas bread they would have to learn its actually food ha.
      i actually did a little session that got cut short today float and worm caught a chub(which was the target) a grayling and a dace or grayling fell off the hook.
      im wondering whether i should try a ledger tomorrow with bread and worm, i catch nice perch on the river at the weir with a ledger but havent had much luck on other species. couple of browns in floody conditions.
      with these tiny swims like in the video is it worth using a small cage feeder or better just to throw it in? thats why i like trotting as you can check the whole swim without waiting around for nothing.

  • @paulmerritt7540
    @paulmerritt7540 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The plants we enjoy here which burst forth their seeds when touched are orange in flower and called snap draggons.We have the same yellow perch and the chubs as you call them are shiners. The dace are similar to the shiner also.

    Absolutely blooming amazing video, nothing fancy just some proper exploring and fishing! Also, at 20:48 that plant is Himalayan Balsam and is extremely invasive! It’s superbly pretty but is ruining the biodiversity along river banks across England! I used to go out along the river Tyne with my grandpa every year and go ‘balsam bashing’ and pull it up before the seeds popped! For all anglers out there, pull it up if you see the odd one on its own to stop that area being invaded!🙂 when there’s a huge group, there’s unfortunately not a lot of hope unless you spend an extensive period pulling it up lol. But yes, it’s a pretty but unfortunately also a pretty awful plant!! Again, top video.

      Aye! And they crowd out other plants, die back in autumn/winter leaving the banks pretty bare. This then allows for erosion to damage the banks, creating flooding/silting.

    always the best fishing videos on youtube, I used do lots of fishing like that when I was younger but all the river was private so we had to fish covert all the time which made for some interesting times being cashed off by land owners a lot;)

    well for backpacks you can split them into different categories, a rucksack and a knapsack. The rucksack is a large backpack and is used for things like hiking and camping where as a knapsack is much smaller, usually tougher but for one day use only

    How did you manage to film my childhood? Cycling the country lanes as a schoolboy, 5' Woolworths rod strapped to the frame, searching out brooks and streams for loaches, gudgeon, roach and....Holy Grail...big chub. Never quite managed to land the chub as it walzed back into the tree roots and spat the hook. Happy days.

    Just come across the gem! Love this, hoping to take my little one for some small stream fishing this year. Enjoyed the commentary across the Bull field 😆. The plant with the exploding seed pods is Himalayan balsam. Unfortunately is an invasive nonnative and is responsible for bank collapses as it’s a shallow rooted annual that smothers out native river bank plants leaving the bank bare in winter.
