    Thank you Christopher for your insight. I purchased a Boss SD-1 and Zoom MS-50g in hopes of capturing the distinctive E.J. sound you are getting. It works perfect and well worth the small investment. Just too add a little something about the Zoom. It is important to select Combo or Stack Front to replace the default LINE setting on the Marshall Model. As soon as I made that 1 adjustment on the Zoom, the E.J. sound came to life. WOW

    I myself think the TONE is more of the Range of a Viola, the violin's bigger brother, for most of it especially in the 9th fret to 15 fret range, but that is of course thru these Computer sound Altec Lansing speakers. NICE WAY to dial that in, the TONE control wiring is a big plus, i never did that on the Strats I used to own. I do not have one currently. GOOD JOB.

      @r.christopherfowler2088  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks I appreciate it and I totally agree with you I've always thought of his in between tone as a signature sound that often gets overlooked and one he uses quite a bit more than the violin tone. And he's even said in interviews that he lost some of that tone when he sold his 54 Strat he played on Austin City Limits. So possibly that particular guitar was a major ingredient in his original signature violin tone I don't know,but it's definitely got a lot to do with his playing approach for sure. Thanks again for the comment and for watching. 😊🎸

    • @r.christopherfowler2088
      @r.christopherfowler2088  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks Charles! The Strat I'm playing is actually a mongrel I put together out of an old body and a neck from another guitar and the pickups are some generic 50s alnico v's and the only mod is I wired the tone control to the bridge pickup. Another thing I'm doing is rolling the highs back a good bit on the amp as well to eliminate the fizzy brittleness you normally get from a single coil. That varys from amp to amp. My best advice is keep the highs down and jack the mids up for the E.J. vibe and that will put you in the neighborhood of the violin type tone. Keep on experimenting and you'll get it.👊🙂

      Its actually a combination of both. The the Marshall Zoom tone is the primary amp sound and the Boss SD-1 adds the warmth too it. If you use the Marshall tone by itself its a much brighter tone but the SD-1 seems to roll the highs back into the vicinity of E.J.s sound.😊

    I’m curious as to why you used the boost dla for tape echo when the zoom has a decent tape echo. Maybe it’s because of the signal chain and having a delay go into an overdrive wouldn’t sound right.
    Is the Marshall 59’ amp simulation the ‘only’ thing you have going on in the Zoom’s signal chain?...no 6 band eq or other effects?
    I’ve newly acquired the zoom and it’s a really handy pedal to have... although I’m not sure how much I like the overdrives/distortions.
