You are Correct! Glow of the Everflame, best of 2024!! And Heat of the Everflame is right behind! I also loved Spark of the Everflame, haven't fell for a books series like this since Acotar!
Feathers so Vicious was one of my first dark reads but I still really had to keep reading. I really liked book 2 and I was emotionally attached to the main characters by the end of book 2!
Whether this is the correct order or not… I almost dnf Throne of Glass also. I did put it down bc I was not vibing with Celeana. However, I picked up the Assassin’s Blade instead and flew through those 5 novellas. It actually grew me to like Celeana. Then, I read ToG. I know that’s not the “correct” order to read it but it helped me to actually finish tog to move on to crown of midnight.
I recently got Spark of the Everflame so I’m excited to try that series. I may try and fit it into my June TBR. The hype is getting to me lol. I’m sad you didn’t love Heartless Hunter. I’m obsessed with it. But at least you didn’t hate it so that’s good news.
Five Broken Blades is one of my favourite reads of the year, It’s not romantasy but it is a fantasy with romance that is amazing. It takes a bit to get into it as we are following 6 people but it’s worth it, there are so many secrets that come out at the end that will make the next book even better to
Don’t even feel bad. I think Crescent City is her worst series too. I struggled to keep going with book one and the ONLY reason I read book two was because they mentioned the crossover. Big fat DNF for book 3 lol
Crescent City was such a let down. Sarah’s writing is getting worse imo… too mainstream. She should have used Aidas as the storyplot romance he’s the best character

Nice list. I will try "why chose" because as you say it is not too heavy on that part. I just started the Slaying one so after that one.

After the novellas, I’ve been putting off reading Heir of Fire.
I’m nervous about reading Heat of the Ever Flame because it’s 1000 pages and it has so many mixed reviews but I will read it eventually
