      @xejelah 4 ปีที่แล้ว +51

      This. I was surprised he didn't mention it. More than anything she singing in perfect pitch, there's no mistakes, so it sounds like a studio recording. She's done this song a lot and has it down to a science. However, that's not true of other songs she's done like Adele's Rolling in The Deep - she makes some mistakes throughout and isn't as used to that style as this.

    • @mahalayananda
      @mahalayananda 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@xejelah Yes indeed. Most of these singers in these competitions are forced to sing according to certain themes so they sometimes get out of their comfort zone like Aida with Adele's Rolling in The Deep. As a former Sweet Adeline we were taught that vibrato will NOT make chords ring. I prefer singers that don't use vibrato or overdo it when using expressive license. What really gets my dander up is when singers slide up and the word "banner" during America's national anthem.

      If you think she has perfect pitch you are wrong.. if you think those notes are perfectly pitched you are right.. upon waveform analysis Fil from wings of pegasus thinks the producers added auto tune AFTER the audition to make it more controversial (x factor was caught using autotune in the UK version btw) if you search his page for the video you can see his analysis.. it is pretty obvious when you see the waveforms of this performance and her other videos.. she is AMAZING but not perfect

    Everything I agreed with until
    8:27 "she is singing with almost no vibrato"
    Bruh, whut!? She has one of the best vibratos I have ever heard. It's the kind of vibrato that is not forced and doesn't need you to manipulate it using your jaw. She just keeps her mouth in one position and her vocal chords do it. It's the best kind of vibrato for me since it doesn't go wide and away from the root note, it softly oscillates just enough to be a beautiful ornament to any note. And she uses it quite a bit here. Other singers with wide vibrato end up sounding extremely out of tune in their later years since they lose control of it cuz it damages their vocal chord to the point where they can't even correct it, they just keep doing it or sing with no vobrato at all (and for some of them this is also bad because from doing so much wide vibrato they forget how to hold a note in tune lol)
    This woman has been blessed with the most gorgeous vibrato.

    I just have to mention that you're wrong about the lazy jaw thing and that words could be pronounced better. Russian is a very contrived language and your chin feels like is tucked in all the time and your jaw doesn't move much, is not a language with open vowels and projected sounds, just watch any russian talking or singing, it sounds like they're actually saving the effort. To make your jaw any more loose or lips more open would be the equivalent of someone singing in English and sticking their tongue out to sing their vowels better, it wouldn't be natural to the language even though it could potentially sound better to foreign listeners.

    • @endingsnow
      @endingsnow 4 ปีที่แล้ว +16

    • @fatbum

      it is impossible cheeky! why then this lady? why shouldn't this version grow old? Aida sang cover, but very close to the original, and that is one song that Aida has succeeded in doing. Here is original
      th-cam.com/video/XUaTdMVMDFo/w-d-xo.html
      Aida must to be ashamed! Hype, hype! disgusting!
      after the x factor Aida gave "concerts" and there she sang the song "Lullaby" and it is impossible, because
      copyright for text and design is protected in accordance with Russian and international law.
      The copyright is vested in the author, Polina Gagarina composed the song "Lullaby" herself at the age of 17. And now Polina performed in 2019 in China with her own song „Lullaby“ in a new arrangement. th-cam.com/video/cSO1GuJBMBw/w-d-xo.html
      Her vocal range is stunning.

      Geheimnis Geheimnis I've just listened to the 2019 version, it's great. As for thia x factor version, a cover is never good as the original especially since I always respect the author and composer of the original! Besides, at these shows people usually sing covers, sometimes there's a fuss about them, sometimes not, but it means very little if you don't write a good song for yourself! Aida doesn't have to be ashamed because people are always more likely to listen to a song they already know than an original. If anything, it's hard if they only remember you from a cover, it's hard to shake that off! So this viral "success" maybe even made it harder for her to make it in music. Anyhow, it was a nice performance, but Polina is the real deal ;) sorry for the long comment

      she should be ashamed of her deeds, Aida sang Polina's Lullaby at own concerts. Concerts are not a song contest and Aida did not get any music rights from Polina, that is punishable. Okay, an example: a stranger comes to your home and brings along a lot of strangers that you obviously don't know. All these people come to you every day, eat your food, use your towels would you like it? That what I mean „to be ashamed“ because one works hard and the other takes what doesn't belong to him. Yes, at the "SINGER 2019" competition in China Polina sang Lady Gaga and Christina Aguilera cover instagram.com/tv/Bv4uCwHo63D/?igshid=92c3fb73h5l7
      th-cam.com/video/UT_V4wyCZKw/w-d-xo.html
      but not at her own concerts, at them she sings only her songs, here is a final song at her concert.

      @@geheimnis5235 oh, I didn't understand that she didn't get the rights, sorry. Sometimes the author gives permission for their songs to be performed live, even get some commision for that (that's the way 2cellos play covers live in their concerts, but they have permission of every author to do so). In that case, she shouldn't perform it live!

    I also think the track has a spacious delay effect prerecorded on it to further enhance the sound. If you listen closely to when she sings with the track, her voice has this synthetic reverb effect so she probably has prerecorded vocals with the dry end cut off a lot to only get the reverb. You can also better hear this when she recorded a studio version.

    I think that the author is either really very much mistaken, or wants to hype and thus add to his fame. But there is one very serious reason to think that this is a fake, i.e. the video that it evaluates. This is not the original video! I also thought that the voice on the video was a little processed. Perhaps that's why it feels like a fake. If you listen to the original video, the voice of Aida Nikolaichuk sounds very clean. This video is more than 8 years old. Now she is a very famous singer in Ukraine, Russia and other post-Soviet republics. After participating in a Mozart show on a Japanese TV channel, she became quite famous in Japan as well. She is really very talented,she has such a clear crystal voice by nature, at the time of her appearance on the X-Factor program, she was 29 years old and worked as a cashier in a supermarket. Not all professional singers have such a beautiful voice. So you are deeply mistaken.

    I am so glad you made this video and talked about the effect of her voice. I often wondered how the backing track could have what sounds like her own vocal doubled up and delayed the way it sounds before she is asked to sing a capella. It frustrated me because it did not ever sound the same to me once she had no backing track. Yet people said she sounds the same whether she has the track or not. I don't know how to spell what you suggested to google but I want to learn more. Can you tell us any other vocalist who also have that naturally in their sound? I wish I could sign up for a lesson with you.

    • @HofTheStage
      @HofTheStage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you're interested in lessons, you can send me an email to singeverythinginfo@gmail.com
      As fir her voice, I didn't say she used an effect on her voice, I said her voice naturally sounded pretty much like a flanger effect. I can't think of anyone sounding like this at the moment, but people make a lot of different sounds with their voice, it shouldn't come as too much of a shock. There are beatboxers out there that can imitate dubstep perfectly without any added effect except a bit EQ.

    Aida forgot the words to a Whitney Houston song later in the competition but won anyway because she flawlessly performed three delightful musical comedy show tunes that allowed her to show her considerable acting talent. One video revealed that when the winner's limo showed up at her hotel she was in the crowd waiting to see who won the competition. The limo driver had to search for her in the crowd to tell her that the limo was for her.

    At first I was going to blast you out if you said she was fake because her voice is beautiful and she practiced this song at home every time she heard it, so she was practicing with the sounds on the radio. She brought tears to to my eyes hearing her sing acapella and still gives me goosebumps hearing her sing that song and that is something no singer has done to me while listening to them. I was so happy she won! She is amazing! I do feel a little bad for the original singer of the song and I have heard her original version and think 100% Ada sings it so much better with so much heart! I don't understand a word of the song but it's beautiful.
