Actually, she seemed to be a replacement Elsie Tanner.
Oh Vera you are such a hateful, spiteful cruel woman. I don't understand the love for her as she has became a horrible character. To be honest she has pretty much been horrible since the beginning but she has gotten so much worse.
I can't get over the fact she suggested to Emily that she should fake mental illness to get off the traffic offences. Definitely one of her low moments.
Plus it's astonishing that Jack at least didn't realize that any money they received in compensation would go to Terry who would obviously keep it for himself. Of course Vera would never admit this.
Reg or Derek? In the Pomposity Stakes who would be the winner of the Cringeworthy Cup? They do have similar form. Both are big-headed; both have a sing-song method of speech and a rather Shakespearean turn of phrase; both have unhappy past marriages to domineering women; and both have a tendency to high dudgeon. But I think the clincher would be down to boldness. Reg was crass and brash and about as subtle as a court jester, whereas Derek had a timid, Mavis-like nervousness beneath all the bluster, and often felt ashamed of himself. Shame and embarrassment didn't seem to exist for Reg. So would that make Reg the winner? Perhaps - by a head. A big head.
Why on Earth did they cut the line of Jack's after Phyllis asks him for poison? He said something like booze is a slow poison because we're in no rush us drinkers.

Publicly screaming at anyone who disagrees with her and hurling false and vicious accusations with impunity.
Even though Vera is being particularly spiteful to Des, I do think she's got a point...if Des hadn't visited Lisa in Blackpool and bought her and the baby back to Coronation street, she would have still been alive.
