  • Thailand 2023: Chiang Mai a City Of Temples
Chiang Mai is a city in northern Thailand known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant markets, and scenic surroundings.
    -Population: Around 1.5 million people.
    - Location: Situated in the mountainous region of northern Thailand.
    - Climate: Chiang Mai has a tropical wet and dry climate, with a distinct wet season from May to October and a dry season from November to April.
    - Culture: The city is known for its traditional temples, festivals, and the Loy Krathong festival. It has a significant influence from the Lanna Kingdom, contributing to its unique cultural identity.
    - Culinary: Chiang Mai is renowned for its diverse and delicious cuisine, featuring dishes like Khao Soi (noodle soup), Sai Oua (spicy sausage), and vibrant street food.
    - Historical Significance: Chiang Mai has a rich history dating back to the 13th century when it served as the capital of the Lanna Kingdom. Many ancient temples, such as Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang, reflect this historical significance.
    - Night Markets: The city is famous for its vibrant night markets, including the Sunday Night Market on Ratchadamnoen Road and the Night Bazaar. These markets offer a variety of crafts, textiles, and local delicacies.
Wat Phra Singh was originally built in 1345, making it one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. The main attraction inside the temple is the Phra Singh Buddha, believed to originate from Sri Lanka. The complex includes several other structures, such as:
    1. *Viharn Lai Kham:* This assembly hall features exquisite murals depicting scenes from the Jataka tales, showcasing the previous lives of the Buddha.
    2. *Viharn Luang:* Another assembly hall housing the main Buddha image, Phra Singh. The hall displays a mix of Lanna and Burmese architectural styles.
    3. *Bot:* The ordination hall is an important structure in the temple complex.
    4. *Golden Chedi:* The golden pagoda or chedi is a prominent structure within the temple grounds. It is intricately adorned and adds to the overall beauty of Wat Phra Singh.
Phra Singh is an abbreviated form of Phra-Put-Tha-Shi-Hing and does not refer to the word Singh ("lion")
In the tranquil embrace of the temple site, morning unfolds along shaded alleys, guarded by lush tropical trees.
The Golden Chedi at Wat Phra Singh is a majestic and revered structure located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Also known as a stupa or pagoda, the Golden Chedi stands within the temple complex, showcasing exquisite Thai architecture. Its golden facade glimmers in the sunlight, adorned with intricate details and symbolic designs.
Chedi Luang is a prominent Buddhist temple in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Constructed in the 14th century, it housed the Emerald Buddha, Thailand's most sacred religious relic, until the mid-20th century. The chedi (stupa) was originally much taller, but an earthquake in 1545 caused significant damage. Visitors can explore the temple grounds, which include a larger-than-life guardian statue and various smaller shrines. Chedi Luang remains an important cultural and historical site in Chiang Mai.
The grounds of Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai, Thailand, include several temples and structures. Some of the notable ones are:
    1. *Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara:* The main temple with the ruins of the chedi (stupa).
    2. *Wat Ho Tham:* This temple is situated to the north of Wat Chedi Luang and has a small, atmospheric prayer hall.
    3. *City Pillar (Inthakin City Pillar Shrine):* Located nearby, this shrine is a sacred place believed to protect the city.
    4. *Wat Sukmin:* A smaller temple within the complex with its own unique features.
    5. *Wat Chiang Man:* Although not directly part of Chedi Luang's grounds, it's one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai and is nearby.
The "big tree" at the grounds of Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai is often referred to as the "Bodhi Tree" or "Sacred Fig Tree." This tree holds cultural and religious significance, and it is common to find such trees in Buddhist temple compounds. The Bodhi Tree is associated with the Buddha's enlightenment; according to Buddhist tradition, it's the type of tree under which Siddhartha Gautama, the historical Buddha, attained enlightenment.
the Phra Chao Attarot, a large reclining Buddha image. This temple is a significant historical and cultural site, and the statue is a revered representation of Buddha in a reclining posture, symbolizing his entry into Nirvana.
The Phra Chao Attarot, also known as the Reclining Buddha, is a prominent statue located at Wat Chedi Luang in Chiang Mai, Thailand. This large and impressive image represents the Buddha in a reclining position, specifically the moment of his final nirvana or passing away.

Enjoying, enyoying the ASMR. Wow, foarte frumos inelul ales. Hahaha, Du hast Hunger bekommen. Draga Denisa, mi-a placut absolut tot! Ador sa descopar alte culturi. Ma imbogatesc spiritual, si nu numai. PS.

Un An Nou fericit vă dorim! ❤ Maruru!
