  • May 15, 2024. We tackle the "Celebrity Guillotine" phenomenon during #blockout2024, scrutinizing the role of Muslim influencers who remain silent on Palestine and engage in divisive online behavior. We'll dissect the responsibilities of public figures in leveraging their platforms ethically, while also delving into the correct Islamic approach to public criticism. Our controversial callout segment features Trevor Noah's connection with ISNA and the broader implications of celebrity involvement in community issues. The episode also covers practical Islamic teachings on nighttime routines from the Sunan of sleep, and continues with insights from John Maxwell's "21 Laws of Leadership," focusing on building meaningful connections and empowering leadership. Tune in to enrich your understanding and engage in this critical conversation.

A well-known Muslim celebrity (who is quite popular in the mainstream media) has a massive following and has not made a single post on the issue.

I could have told you that about Trevor Noah years ago . Hes just a weasel who does whatever is trending. Just like SNEAKO , he LITERALLY does whatever is trending and he does whatever gets attention.

I strongly urge you to reflect on your statement “If we can’t do it for Palestine we can’t do it for anyone”
This is a dangerous and harmful sentiment that promotes selective or hierarchal activism.
You also said “Palestine is the one issue that all of us can unite around” - ask yourself why that is? Why are we not all able to unite around other struggles like Sudan? Is it because we have preconceived notions of those areas? Or is it more fashionable to align with some struggles over others?
We dont need one particular struggle to “create the capacity” to stand up for other causes.
I stand for Palestinian liberation but one’s activism and organising efforts may prioritise other struggles in contrast to your suggestion that Palestine comes first “so that we can have capacity for the others.”
