    Ryan you are by far the best tennis coach / teacher I've come across. You break things down so succintly which makes it so easy to apply to our game. Your videos caused me to do something I thought I would never do - subscribe to a YT channel. Now if only this stupid winter would end so I could get back on the court.

      Wow thank you Randy! I’m so glad you like the videos and find them helpful. There are many great coaches out there so your kind words mean so much. Thank you for your support. And yes, I’m fine with winter. I need to be on court filming!!!

    Thanks Ryan! I discovered your channel last week and I started to play tennis this week! After watching your videos and playing, my coach said "Are you sure that you've never played before?". Please keep posting and take care!

    Great tips. The "close position" is really quick.

    Thank you for this video. Great advice to keep the wrist quiet and close the racket in the slot. One thing that I noticed (that wasn’t pointed out) was how the non-dominant arm is almost straight in the slot position. Seems to make that shot a lot less complicated. I’ve been struggling with this stroke for 2 years and this video is helping me feel the shot again after not playing for seriously 20+ years.

    Never knew the 3rd tip def gonna give it a go. Keep videos coming excellent stuff. I have a topspin Pro too and I love it, the kids get it so quickly and they begin to understand the importance of how to control the racket face too so it helps a lot

    This is great video! I am going to give it a shot from today.
    Request for next video, would you be able to post a video on how to prepare for and return body serves? Does it differ whether we receive them on deuce or ad side of the court?

    Some coaches say you don’t need to put so much spin on backhands except if you are pushed back or the ball is too low but Ryan is sort of saying that every ball has to come with spin. It contradicts what another coach called Stephen who obviously is a very good two handed backhand player says.

    Hi Ryan. I have a question. My continental grip has my hand at an angel with the base of my pinky finger usually at the fourth bevel and the base of my pointer at the second bevel. I use this on the serve, volley, backhand slice and my two handed backhand. Is this "wrong?" Are there any shots where I should keep this grip or should I change to the continental grip you laid out in the video? Thanks so much! Great video as always!

    Hi Ryan, when I teach my younger players to hit a 2-handed backhand I want them to imagine they are squeezing a wet towel out which results in the top hand being continental and the bottom hand eastern-forehand for a lefty. Top bevel 2, bottom bevel 7. Are you saying that both hands should be continental meaning bevel 2 and 6? I also tell them that the left hand drives the 2-handed backhand stroke and the right hand is along for the ride. LMK if this is what you are explaining in this video. Thanks...Jim

    What’s Novak left hand grip?

  • @namae190
    @namae190 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't like criticizing on people who provide great free instruction, but sometimes they complicate it too much. If you have a nice loose grip and lay the wrist back, the racquet face will naturally close on takeback. If you let it move naturally on follow through, it will end up on the left side of the "v" on its own. I guess the utility of this video is that if you film yourself and notice things are different, then you have to figure out what needs to be fixed.

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, that is the utility of this video. And since 95% of the people who watch this video don’t do what is taught in this video, the video is very much needed.

    These same tips work for the one hander?

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. But grip is different. Turn grip farther for one hander
