Josh is by far my biggest inspiration as a worship drummer. He is so clean in his technique and his approach to drums. His live albums with Jesus Culture are some of the very best. So consistent with such good energy.

Excellent! Inspiring. He really conveyed his methods and feelings. This shows how much a good drummer can add to the music and the sentiments of the music, especially in a church worship setting. I wish this band would play at our church sometime.
Thank you Sweetwater. As always your videos shine.

Hypnotic trance music. One of the things I find weird about modern worship is it seems more about the feeling & energy it gives out.

Sustain and saturation rate are also ways to affect energy in a musical performance. I appreciate your explanation of exploring timbre. Also using different elements..

We found out how to control the drum volume at my church. We use a pipe organ LOL!

How about playing some paradiddles on the bells and bows of the cymbals to get some more sooting sounds

none of the lighting beams would show without haze. I agree, though its hard to see him at times...

Uh. Ok. What's next? Is Lars Ulrich gonna teach us about how he got his killer snare sound on St. Anger?
