How similar is it to the valk? I remember trying out the valk and not getting along with it and have been mailing the WRM ever since it came out years ago I’m debating trying this when it releases or waiting (and hoping) MoYu releases updates to their big cubes with ball cores…
I'd say it's a completely different cube compared to the valk. It's much more similar to the aochuang wrm feeling wise than the valk. The valk is much blockier and fast but the Hong is slower, more stable and less blocky. If you're not sure I'd say try one at a comp near you and see if it suits your turning style

Does it pop often?
It doesn't pop but I have gotten some lock ups and misalignments
