I highly suggest the 3rd book, the witch’s book of Mysteries. I goes deep into personal gnosis and how to tailor your practice to you. Devin goes really deep into how to create your own belief system that will completely resonnate with your soul. I read the power and spirit books and im in love with the author. It resonate with me in some much level!!! Recommended!!!
i love this channel so much!! i’ve recently started my practice and you have been my number 1 source of witch info, thank you so much for helping me on my journey!
I’ve been really enjoying the book reviews over at The Witches Box TH-cam channel too! I love Devin, I have a copy of The Witches Book of Power and yes, it’s very in depth. I don’t have his second book yet. Thanks for your review, lovely as always.
You might want to look at PdfDrive and b-ok.cc for free downloadable books. If you want a converter from epub to pdf, I'd suggest using Zamzar. You might want to hide these files in a folder with some kind of name that doesn't stand out like "assignments" or something. Edit: All of these are free by the way
What a great idea for a box! I wish postage to the U.K. didn’t mean I’m priced out we don’t have boxes like this in the U.K. I’m an omnist so I don’t believe in man made religion though I love learning about them so the idea that you don’t know what faith the books will be based on is so appealing to me I would get this if I was in the USA for sure xx
Nice unboxing...or should I say unbooking? I was not able to jump on with the first month subscription of this box but just got the November Book sub in the mail yesterday. I did purchase the Witches book of Power via Amazon so I could still participate in the forum for the first book "didn't grab the October 2nd book yet". My take on the subscription, I paused it due to the value and do not know if I will start it back up. I am subscribed to lots of different boxes and the plus of boxes is the value is usually greater then what was spent on the subscription box, you may not like everything in the box, but the value is there. The October box was just a few bucks ove in value vs buying both books direct on Amazon. The November box after I got it, when I added both to my Amazon cart, it was actually almost $2 cheaper via Amazon even with taxes. I understand prices can flucuate on Amazon, but in the end my sub box cost me more. I'm not expecting a half off value, but I did expect more then what I paid vs Amazon prices. So, it's an awesome idea for the book club. The books so far seem great, but considering it's a surprise on what books actually come in it and the value is just not enough in my opinion.....meh I guess it just wasn't for me, but others may love it. My 2 cents.
This is amazing! I've been wanting to expand my practice and I think I will treat myself this weekend! I've just been stagnant and lost, I believe this will help me! Thank you! And Thank the Witches Book Box! :):)
hi olivia!! hope your doing well. the two books look interesting, and maybe i'll check them out. thanks for uploading!! and your videos are amazing!! please eat and sleep well, and can't wait till the next video!!
"They're so dogmatic" Yes . . . . It's like a witchy meme I saw: Witchcraft's path differs per witch. If I wanted a bunch of rules, I'd go to church . . . 😉
This books review felt rushed. I would like to have heard what views these books challenge, but hopefully that will be in a more in-depth video. I did like hearing that these books might be more intermediate then beginner since that is often the complaint. Too many beginner books and not enough intermediate to advance to work off of. The Witches book of Spirit is on my list of books to get at some point.
Like I said, I wasn't able to fully finish all the the books, nor did the books resonate with me personally or spiritually, but I didn't want to talk about how they didn't help me in my own craft since they could certainly be useful to others!
I do agree. I get that it can help others but I do feel like every single review on these books that come from friends, same circle etc are always positive. I'd like to hear deep critical reviews but I can't imagine every single book is just "amazing." but I'm picky with books and want to make sure I'm not wasting my money. 😂
The best part of my day filled with Animal Care Module training and report writing is finding out there's a bunch of book reviews I didn't know about, yay :')
Early squad! Love you as always Olivia, hope you're doing amazing. I'm going to get a witchy box as soon as I can, it's an absolute must and I love your reviews.
This is awesome, I wanted to start practice white magic and dragon magic, and looking for books on these topic, this be perfect for me. I I’m a empath and sensitive and started in the tarot card readings and can feel energy from people voices pictures and them being near me, and I sense spirits and see them in meditation and love the paranormal and gone investigating too.
I just am not a huge fan of the witches box artwork, it seems a little too modern to me. (Grimoire pages) Their stuff is so cool but I really love Witches Moon - their witches Roots Option is affordable for people like me. I don't find it overly feminine BUT as a queer woman, I may be biased, not really being too fussed over gendered items 🤷♀️ that said - the book box looks AWESOME! Right up my alley. The artwork for this box is on point
I immediately clicked when I saw Devin's books in the thumbnail. Devin is a witch originally from the Midwest, he moved out to San Francisco and now co-owns a metaphysical shop called The Mystic Dream. I've known him since he was about 17-18years old and have watched him grow and develop into an amazingly talented and knowledgeable witch! Check out his shop: www.mysticdream.com I hope you enjoy his books!!
Devin Hunter's style of "Wicca" is very particular to him and his chosen practice. Notwithstanding the fact that I disagree with him on a bunch of stuff around his work (particularly that involving "demons"), I wouldn't recommend his work for beginners interested in more traditional Wicca. Buckland and Cunningham are better starting points.
Wow Olivia.. Lots of content lately. Hoping you can do youtube full time..besides teaching pole dancing !!! Love ideas for the new books.. Maybe I will get the box 2020. Thank you 💗 xx
From what I read cause i was just about to sign up for the 27 monthly book subscription but is there actually books? Cause when i read product discription it only says monthly coven tags, membership? to what? moon ritual coven? and subscrition..So im kinda confused with what comes with this one. The other are just way to expensive for whats in it, im sorry but there's barely anything in them from what ive saw through their website. And why it is im watching this because you must be doing a different box than the actual book subscrition or im doing somehting or looking at it wrong.
Hello I’m knew to being a witch. I have alway thought I was but never knew how to start. I have question for you that maybe you might be able to help me with. There’s a symbol that I have been drawn to for a very long time. I would like to know why? It’s a double triquetra but there’s no circle in it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks
This is a personal thing that I'm not able to help with unfortunately. I can, however, suggest that you check out books on symbols, and research what those symbols or the symbols within your symbol may mean. Best of luck!
Just remember that the word ‘Wicca’ (pronounced ‘Witch-ah’ - male; or witch-Ey’- male) actually means ‘witch’ - it’s just the Old English word for witch, and is a gendered word for a male or female witch, as the Old English language (otherwise known as the ‘Anglo-Saxon language’ is gendered--> just like modern Greek or Italian. When you make a comment like ‘I’m not a Wiccan, I’m a witch’ you are actually saying ‘I’m not a witch, I’m a witch’. Etymologically, it makes NIL sense. The word ‘Wicca ‘ (pronounced incorrectly as ‘wikka’ was Utilised in the past by people Who were not educated in the proper pronunciation of old English/Anglo-Saxon words. The original elder witches (Gardner, Valiente, sanders, Cochrane, leek, Cardell, Bone, Crowther, etc) May have occasionally mis-pronounced the word as ‘wikka’, because they were not aware of the proper pronunciation. However, the original elders and initiates always always always referred to themselves as witches. Every single book they wrote Always had the word witchcraft or witches in it, not Wicca or Wiccans. A NON- initiate named Scott Cunningham (a writer in the 90s) took the word ‘Wicca’, and culturally misappropriated it and wrote books which resulted in that word being used more so by people thereafter. Some American Modern initiates Have you claimed that word to differentiate themselves from non-initiates. It is literally errors based on errors based on errors. The correct term is witch. And you either have initiates or non-initiates (regardless of tradition). Thats really it--> and that’s the historical fact. People who say “I’m a Wiccan witch” just sound really dumb, because they are literally saying “I’m a witchy witch”. It’s like someone like me, who is Slavic background, saying “Im a Vjesyitsa witch”, which translates to “im a witchy witch”. People who continue to delineate A difference between wiccans and witches , Considering that the historical and etymological reality is known, are just demonstrating that they are un-educated---> it’s not a good look. There are three current actual definitions of a witch (as per the dictionary)--> 1. An initiate practitioner of magico-religious witchcraft (‘Wiccan’ (initiates fall into this category, they believe in/worship Gods, etc. This was defined by Gardner and the other elders, and is an official religion of Magic and the Goddess, recognised internationally by multiple governments. This includes many “traditional” witchcraft practices, like the Cochrane tradition. 2. A practitioner of folk magic or spells. This is more the type of witch that you would call yourself). However, It’s very important to be careful and not to culturally misappropriate a practice as witchcraft, when it is not. For example, a proper hoodoo practitioner would never typically call themselves a Witch… instead, they would call themselves a “root worker.” This group may be religious, or not, and usually simply call themselves folk magicians or Cunning-men/women. This definition arose from Colonialism--> white people labelling any foreign magical practice as ‘witchcraft.’ This may also include other practitioners of operative witchcraft. Eg, the Bruxos of South America, or the Kimbanda practices of Brazil; but may also refer to (erroneously) various religions like Voodoo, Candomble or Lacumi, or even various forms of Siberian or non-Siberian (mis-names Shamanism). 3. A practitioner of evil magic that comes from Satan (Christian Historical definition), with intent to do harm, like the witches that pop up on the Conjuring movies. Of course, there are many other different types of ‘witches’ that have been labelled and are popping up, but the above three definitions are the official dictionary definitions. All the other labels fall under one generic label, and that is “Eclectic” witchcraft. I personally fall under the first category, BUT I’m also a practitioner of Goetia, which is an Ancient Greek form of magical practice/witchcraft, that is heavily based on the Grimoires and other ancient magical texts (like the PGM) and the magical practices of then Mystery Cults (like the cults of Isis, Apollo, Hecate or Dionysus). I sometimes accidentally call myself a ‘Wiccan’ as well, but when I say that, I’m referring to the fact that I practice witchcraft, and that I am a witch.
My favorite author for witchy stuff...I prefer the male term "mage" or "magi" is Author, and practitioner " Gerina Dunwich" she is very Anti "this is the right way...that is the wrong way" your welcome.

@@TheWitchOfWonderlust Is Hot Topic still a thing!? See, you're always right on time. 🙏🏾 I used to love Hot Topic for gag gifts and such and the holidays are right around the corner.
It's a good box but it's $70 per month which to me is REALLY expensive for a subscription box!!! Oh btw, your LITTLE CUP OF TEA book is unavailable on Amazon now 😕😕😕 I went to buy it and can't!!! 😔😔😔 🔮🌙🌟💀♥💀🌙🌟🔮
The Book Subscription box that I'm reviewing in this video is $30, the product box is definitely more pricey, however every box I've received is SO worth it. The amount of time, the products provided, the grimoire pages, and the live, online Deep Dives are worth that to me. It's defiantly not a monthly thing for most people - but giving the subscription boxes as gifts has never failed!
@@TheWitchOfWonderlust oh ok I was bummed when I saw unavailable. And yes I agree after watching more unboxings of the witch's box I do think it's worth it!!! 🔮🌛🌟💀♥💀🌛🌟🔮
Sounds good. I will def. check that out if its not solely feminin. Thats nice. ❤👍 love your vids! Greetings from Germany!! And yeah I totally get what your saying about witchy or spiritual books, especially as a beginner. How do you or all of you stand on "religion and witchcraft"? I find it easier to classify to non-practitioners as a "religion". But What do you think? Because alot of people talk about "its def not a religion!" But cant it be classified as such especially if one does "pray" or call upon certian deities? 😅🤔
Why do your videos appear like the shooting of the video is cut every 4 secs? Many of your videos are like that...🤔. Dizzy making watching all the cuts ( stop and restart)

So my twin and I are new to this sort of world but I don’t know what different between witches and wiccan. Could someone explain so I can understand the world I’m stepping into a little more hah, thanks if you do
Ok so basically here's my interpretation (it varies a bit person to person)
So a Wiccan is a follow of a neopagan Witchcraft RELIGION
neopagan being a modern version of paganism which is essentially the name for a people who didn't follow the big three religions and followed a sort of duo, or poly made beleif system that varies greatly region to region around the world because paganism is based on the earth and the world around you.
Wiccans use Witchcraft alot in their religion and beleif systems to practice the faith so by definition they are witches and Wiccans(although some don't like the witch label)
Wicca has its own set of ethics, morals codes like any religion that you need to follow to be wiccan-if your interested in them I encourage you to reaserch
A witch is simply Someone who practices Witchcraft , with no ties to the Wiccan religion or any religion period , you can be an atheist too, (secular witches) they can be any religion they so choose or none because Witchcraft is a practice not a religion.
Like art, you don't need to be a specific religion to practice art but there is religious art ya know what I mean? (Hope that metaphor made sense)
And Hope my explanation cleared some stuff up

@@TheWitchOfWonderlust Is Hot Topic still a thing!? See, you're always right on time. 🙏🏾 I used to love Hot Topic for gag gifts and such and the holidays are right around the corner.
I love your videos
It's a good box but it's $70 per month which to me is REALLY expensive for a subscription box!!! Oh btw, your LITTLE CUP OF TEA book is unavailable on Amazon now 😕😕😕 I went to buy it and can't!!! 😔😔😔
🔮🌙🌟💀♥💀🌙🌟🔮
The Book Subscription box that I'm reviewing in this video is $30, the product box is definitely more pricey, however every box I've received is SO worth it. The amount of time, the products provided, the grimoire pages, and the live, online Deep Dives are worth that to me. It's defiantly not a monthly thing for most people - but giving the subscription boxes as gifts has never failed!
And my tea zine will be available soon! I'm making some changes ;)
@@TheWitchOfWonderlust oh ok I was bummed when I saw unavailable. And yes I agree after watching more unboxings of the witch's box I do think it's worth it!!!
