This is why King Crimson is the king the number one of the big three thank you Bill for sharing this with us I'm almost 70 and I've been a fan since the beginning I'll be honest enough that I didn't always understand it when I was a teenager but as I matured so did my understanding may God keep and bless you
You got it my friend those were the three that not only introduced me but captivated me in the Prague music genre it's been a lot that have come and gone since but I'm not sure that I've ever experienced their equal
@@alichinoalichino2283 I'm surprised to see everyone omitting Pink Floyd. (Not unpleasantly, mind you; I can understand how one could love them, hate them, or anything in between, but I've never been able to understand why one would label Pink Floyd as prog.)
Belew and Tony on tour, Bruford posting double trio at 4 am, Fripp doing silly video with his domina... I mean wife. It doesn't get much better than this for the Crimheads
YES!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! This is the exact song Ive been wanting to see a good quality video of for a long time. To me, it (and Sex Sleep Eat Drink Dream) is a perfect example of the Double Trio's capabilities! Also, Trey Gunn solo section.
Captures deep underlying gyrations now rattling us to change what we have collectively interfered with Mother Earth, in Her pulsing eco systems still repairing as witnessed in her weathering gyrations upon us daily mirroring what we collectively withered. Yet she vibrates through music to sustain us.😢 we can still awaken, act and join with Her❤
That was definitely a decent snare drum roll there at the end, for sure, and your right Bill, performance psychology is very important, you're a true musician Bill always was there for the song to prevail.
I was fortunate enough to see this Double Trio iteration of King Crimson live. Whatever superlative descriptor you like, it applied to the tour 10 fold.
I think this was a highlight, esp. at the outro with something that reminded me of 'Heart Of The Sunrise' like 'Bill unleashed' again. The interesting polyrhythmic phrases on the other track 'Eat Sleep Sex Dream' (around 1 min 40 sec) is a whole other can-of-worms. ;) compliment of course
The only Crimson incarnation I saw live. I remember after visiting the concert in The Hague that I felt like giving up playing drums, as I realised that Ovwould never reach such a level. But then I saw some coverband playing in a pub I went to afterwards and I thought better of it.
It seems to me that “Performance Psychology” is too narrow a term to explain the main reason why we play what we play. IMO, the more appropriate term would be “Personality” albeit it can make things even more complicated for the uninitiated. Another useful and related term could be “taste”. These terms define how we approach things we do in life including musicianship.
Hello Mr. Bruford! Do you happen to have access to that masterclass program you recorded? Where you address the camera personally on concepts such as "rhythm is imposing on the flow of time" and demonstrating close examples for learning drummers?? Would love to see that full program
Fripp could have written this same essay in the context of guitar. Adrian, Trey and Tony all contributed to this song - I think Fripp slept until some gentle volume swells to close the song.
Bill why don't you at least travel around and do drum clinics again? It's not actually playing in shows anymore. Many of still can't comprehend why you have distanced yourself to an instrument you loved. You can still be retired from performing yet still occasionally play in the public right ?
I had already bailed out after 3 of a perfect pair. Thrak and squonk were so over done without the charm or humor. Hey we can play in 65,000/ 3 time. Yawn. It became the same 3 songs

@@timkoontz6693 He meant Crimson, Van Der Graaf and Genesis.
@johncrocker-nh7ey ... lived it, saw 'em all live making their early rounds. It was glorious!

Brutal. In a good way…
As always, thanks for the value-adding comment/reflection/lesson.
One of my favorite Crimson songs! So underrated.
ive never seen them play this song live like this - it helps so much to understand to see the instrumentation and who's playing what
Gracias Bill.
Favorite song from my favorite era, THANK YOU BILL
THRAK you, Bill!!!
One of the best rock bands ever👍

A great song from a great album. Thanks Bill!
All those funky rhythms are candy for the brain!

The closing instrumental where Bill comes in is the most Crimson something can be.
I could listen to this all day! Outstanding!
Not only a master musician but a master in writing too.
'Description' on your videos are as important as the performance show in it.
I was there. Also saw earthworks at the kuumbwa in santa cruz. And yes in Detroit opening for black sabbath in 72. Good memories Bill.
Thank you, Bill.
Amazing. Mind blown!
Great video.
love you siempre viva crimson

Hej Bill.
I was there when you played in Warsaw, it was a great time.
Fantastic
Many thanx Sir ! :-)

Bill Bruford, puedes confirmar si la parte final es un homenaje a She's so heavy de The Beatles??

I wish there was more footage of Bill! At least one closeup would not have been unwarranted, please...

🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🥰
Fucking brilliant.
Adrian is the voice of Crimson!

What's the opening ANIME from..?🤷♂️
Imâdom
Gracias Bill !!!
Fripp has almost disappeared at this point.

Hello everyone
Kimberly 👋😀
superfluous Bill in the back. Can't even hear him here.

The Swifties I've met are positive and cheerful. Why are you such a downer? 🤷🏿♂️
There is always one killjoy in the crowd.
This band is nowhere near King Crimson. Should call it something else. Anything but King Crimson. 🤮
... certamente não é músico... pior... cristalizou lá pelos 75... realmente não compreende a alma do rei rubro de sangue...
PEOPLEEEE
Hi Bruford ;))
