    DVD: smarturl.it/FrankZappaTokenDVD
Recorded on August 27, 1974 at KCET in Hollywood, A TOKEN OF HIS EXTREME features Frank Zappa with five incredibly talented band members for this extravaganza of live music.
The line-up exists of Frank Zappa-guitar, percussion, vocals; George Duke-keyboards, finger cymbals, tambourine, vocals; Napoleon Murphy Brock-sax, vocals; Ruth Underwood-percussion; Tom Fowler-bass; Chester Thompson-drums.
The Program, as edited and thoroughly tweezed & produced by FZ for Honker Home Video includes these delights: The Dog Breath Variations/ Uncle Meat, Montana, Earl Of Duke (George Duke), Florentine Pogen, Stink-Foot, Pygmy Twylyte, Room Service, Inca Roads, Oh No, Son Of Orange County, More Trouble Every Day, A Token Of My Extreme.
Stereo Mixes Produced by Frank Zappa with Kerry McNabb at Paramount Studios, 1974. Mastered by Bob Ludwig, Gateway Mastering, 2009
FZ: "This was put together with my own money and my own time and it's been offered to television networks and to syndication and it has been steadfastly rejected by the American television industry. It has been shown in primetime in France and Switzerland, with marvelous results. It's probably one of the finest pieces of video work that any human being has ever done. I did it myself. And the animation that you're gonna see in this was done by a guy named Bruce Bickford, and I hope he is watching the show, because it's probably the first time that a lot of people in America got a chance to see it."- FZ appearing on the Mike Douglas Show, 1976
Because 'Token' has never been commercially released until now, it is one of the most sought after Frank Zappa programs.

And yea, Frank fostered so many amazing musicians, it's made such a massive impact on so many different musical genres too. Especially when you consider how many of them went on to be huge inspirations themselves, and for such an uncountable number of musicians in a vast array of often incredibly different genres.
I think a huge part of Franks genius, was his amazing ear, unhindered by popular culture and beliefs. I believe being unique came naturally for him because he looked past what was considered normal, and found his own truths. This is what has always inspired me most about him.
Thank you Frank, the mark you left is manyfold.

I'm no music scholar or educated as such. But I know to a lot of people, this just sounds chaotic, unpredictable, switching melodies and all over the place. But I do know, for us Zappa fans, this is us..... this is a warm blanket to wrap our ears around... it makes sense to us. And we can listen to this 1000 times and it still has that excitement and richness we love.

Imagine playing this live and it sounds identical to the album. It shows the skill of the band and the genius of Zappa. Then look at the actual music notation (I have) and it blows your mind. Zappa was a true musical genius.

The more I listen, watch, learn, and open myself to this level of art and craftsmanship, the more sure I am that this is music done right. Most music compared to Zappa is completely predictable, even the really good stuff. But he manages to follow a structure while still surprising the listeners. Music is meant to take your soul places, and his music takes me somewhere I’ve never been in this life. Same with that claymation, it’s like acid, it just makes sense to a part of my mind I don’t even know. To me, Zappa should be held as a standard in the art and music world. To those that hear it, cheers! And to those that don’t, I hope someday you get the pleasure.

Without a doubt, the most fantastic musical ensemble I have ever heard, To me, "Inca Roads" is quite possibly Frank Zappa's greatest musical creation. Expands my mind, and lifts my spirits every single time I listen to it. Thank you, Frank, and R.I.P. ........

@@nortuber The reason as to why Zappa plays Zappa exists is to share Frank's music to the newer generations. (hence Dweezil opting to hire younger musicians). Whether or not he sounds like Frank is not important, nor should it be.
