How to Make a Rotisserie Chicken at Home in the Oven

    Purchase a Whole Chicken, preferably Organic, free-range. Sourcing ingredients is the most important part about cooking from scratch and ensuring you are limiting the most amount of processed foods and preservatives.
    Preheat the oven to 425 degrees
    Rinse and pat the chicken dry and place in a deep dish or pan
    In this video we had a 5lb bird:
    2 tsp Poultry Seasoning
    2 tsp Paprika
    1 tsp Rosemary
    1 tsp Thyme
    1 tsp Sea Salt
    1 tsp Cracked pepper
    2 small oranges
    2-3 Tbs Avocado oil
    2-3 Tbs Grass fed butter
    You can use other flavors you prefer, just make sure to generously season the bird.
    Place in oven for 15 minutes at 425 degrees.
    Lower temperature to 375
    Baste the chicken
    Put back in for 40-50 mins
    Baste and check internal temperature
    Put back in for another 30 and check temperature again.
    Chicken will be done when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
    *Even though chicken is mostly associated with protein, it also contains many other essential vitamins and minerals, including niacin, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. These vitamins are responsible for metabolizing sugars and fats, as well as maintaining healthy cells. Aside from B complex vitamins, a healthy serving of rotisserie chicken includes magnesium, potassium, phosphorus and zinc. The best part is, you get all of these nutrients without taking on more fat and cholesterol, providing you remove the skin. The chicken breast has the lowest fat content, and you can shred it for salads and soups so that it goes further but you consume less.
    *Reduces the risk of cardiovascular diseases: Selenium, a mineral that we get in foods such as chicken, protects the cell membranes from damage and platelets from becoming sticky, so these conditions will gradually reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases
    3. Skin health: Vitamins and minerals found in rotisserie chicken help play an important role in blood cell development and neurological function, maintaining good skin health, and energy production.
    Store bought Rotisserie chicken is processed and pre-seasoned, so the brands may add high sodium contents, which are not good for health. Sugar added as seasoning gives an unpleasant taste to the chicken. The brands add many flavors and additives for seasoning.
