- You think just because he doesn’t act as Mary Sue-ish as he was in his second installment, he suddenly stopped caring? (I’m sorry. I love R2 Rayman very much, and will protect him at all costs. He’s one of my favorite Rays, but truth be told, he is a bit Mary Sue-ish) Rayman has always been caring. He puts his friends, including others, before him. Even if he looks like he doesn’t care, he knows how to show it. Rayman may not be as kind in a traditional hero way, but he’s more kind in an older brother, role model way.
UbiArts Rayman can be an exception. He’s completely dumbed down and doesn’t have any personality traits, aside from being happy, wacky, and just idiotic. He doesn’t even talk. UbiArts Rayman was never shown to be caring. He’s obsessed with punching everyone in the face, including his own friends. Whenever a serious situation comes about, he’s always smiling about it. That literal motherfucker…
This is ONLY focused on the game franchise in general. Leave your pwecious coke addicted Sexyman out of this.

I only played the first game and I didn't see any Sparks of Hope gameplay (with the exception of the Rayman DLC) but so, let's start with the fact that they are not annoying despite being the focus, they are actually funny and at least contrasts with Mario's characters, in addition to being capable of being Badass at times, and in the Rayman DLC I discovered that now they even talk and the Rabbids NPCs have a lot of personality just in design, I imagine in their personality, that's why I think that they are at their best in the Mario+rabbids series

If you noticed, Rayman is punching directly at Globox's gut, not his face. Do you know who's buried deep within Globox's guts? André; The evil little black lum who keeps vugarly insulting both Rayman and Globox, and forcing Globox to get drunk against his will. Isn't it obvious that Ray is really trying to punch at André?
@@Jess-tified Let's be real here, the real reason people think Rayman isn't nice anymore is probably because of that one Globox line from Rayman 3. "You were a lot nicer in Rayman 2".
I miss this Rayman so much. Just said the bare minimum and had a energetic and infectious personality of optimism.
I think people just thought this because of the "edgier" redesign in 3. I remember thinking the exact same thing when I first played 3 as a kid, but I noticed just from playing the game that it clearly was not the case.
Also I completely forgot that John Leguizamo voiced Globox in 3 until watching this video 💀💀💀

I like the idea of a character who's stereotypically "edgy' in a lot of ways but not outright uncaring or even mean most of the time. It's a fun idea.
I love the juxtaposition. Rayman 2 was overall more cartoonish yet the story was dire and serious all the way through, while Rayman 3 had a darker, grungier aesthetic but has a lot more quips and jokes in it
@@lowhp_comichow was Rayman 2 more cartoony and less dark and edgy than 3? It definitely seems to be the exact opposite. 3 also tries hard to be cool.

I'm not sure Rayman has any kidneys. I'm not sure he has any bones, either.
That's because Globox ran them over due to getting his license from the back of a Captain Crunch Box.
He still does heroic stuff in the UbiArt Duology, like saving the nymphs and chasing down the bad guys.
He clearly loves his job there (constantly smiling).

Never had been giving the chance to play early rayman games, and growing up on origins and legends, it’s given me a love for the world of rayman. I really love the atmosphere and design of the land, being just vegetation and magical creatures, it’s very cozy. I will miss rayman and his games. Maybe one day Ubisoft will clean up their act for their main character.

What was quite surprising and wholesome to me was that, despite his enemy relationships with the Rabbids back in the day, he was immediately nice to the hero Rabbids after he first cooperated with them and won the battle
it's good to see the relationship between him and Rabbid getting better :)
What I'm curious about is if Rayman 4 actually happens, i wonder who's gotta be the villains, like are they kept the Rabbids evil in glade of dreams and be the villains or will there be a whole new scenario 🤔

In all seriousness, I think it might be better that we move on from rabbids. lets make a new and original villains/antagonists, have somebody fresh antagonise the player, and have it be fun beating them up/avoiding them/whatever.
Despite my almost racial hatred for rabbids, I do think they can stay in the series, but should not be the villains, as I believe after almost 20 years of Rabbids, we all deserve something less cancer inducing.

Its probably the "beginning syndrone" as id call it, where the begining is the part you remember the most and just assume the rest is like that.
Rayman was very snarky and rude in the opening level of rayman 3, and probably one of the first things you do is punch globox, so those are the parts people remember.
I can be very snarky and rude myself. No wonder R3 Rayman is my second favorite Rayman. 😆

Even as much as some players loved to punch Globox in the stomach in 3, he still cared about his friends and allies, even after the Rabbids' takeover. That's seriously commendable for him to not have grudges lasting this long as seen in the Sparks of Hope DLC.
also unrelated to the main topic of the video but the fact that 3HD's only improvement over the source game being added subtitles to the CG and ingame cutscenes makes me unbelievably upset.

My headcanon for why Rayman wasn't so kind after Rayman 2 was because he was upset that Ubisoft gave him the shaft in exchange for the Rabbids.
Rayman 3 takes place in 2003. The Rabbids wouldn’t make their debut until 2006.

People will defend this statement by saying "But he literally cried when he witnessed the horrible truth of Eden, stopped an execution, and killed the Board of Directors." Feeling guilty doesn't always equal kindness. And the last two is just him being more of a badass rather than being kind.
If they want me to believe that some whiny mofo, who swears like a 12 year-old, snorts coke, and ate sushi off of sex workers in the comfort of his million dollar penthouse, then I want to see him perform REAL kindness! Comfort Dolph on his loss. Form a dorky yet wholesome friendship with Bullfrog. Interact with kids! There are many ways to show his kindness besides being violent towards fascists.

I didn't think I needed to, since I was focusing on games after Rayman 2. Yes, R1 Rayman does count as an example. Although he loves to kick butt and cause mischief, he's always performing good deeds to strangers, and comforted an enemy when he noticed them crying.
If i had to guess its probably because rayman 2 was insanely popular and rayman 3 started the decline of his series so probably not as many people played rayman games after 1 and 2

probably by getting it via GOG, I've got Rayman 2 from there and it runs fine, haven't tested the 3 tho
