- In this video, I play the Cave Dweller Evolved Mod (evolved.jar) put together by @idk_someguy. This mod is based on the original Cave Dweller Mod (cavenoise.jar) by @Gargin. I also pair this mod up with some other creepy mods to make for an ALL AROUND HORROR GAME!!! As you know, I love me a good horror game.. but MINECRAFT??? This was an all-around very eerie experience. How did you get your sound overhaul to work on 1.19?
Mine only works on 1.20 and it wont work with the rest of the modpack.
I think it would be interesting if the cave dweller attacks mobs randomly, so when you're walking through caves you can find mob drops telling you that it was there, or maybe mobs flee from the area when they're in the vicinity of the cave dweller like cats do to creepers

Genuine good idea, both of them could work as the sound of mobs dying through the wall would be horrifying and the lack of mobs would make the game feel super eerie
in real life, wildlife will go silent in the presence of apex predators. if you are ever in the woods and suddenly the birds stop chirping and the insects so silent, you may be in danger. it would be interesting if this was implemented in the game as well. whenever the cave dweller is nearby, the spiders stop hissing, the zombies stop groaning, skeleton bones stop rattling. all creatures, hostile or not, just go silent and flee the area if the cave dweller is near.
should be some cave dwellers that come out of the cave at night, then when they see a village or players house they’re able to open door >:), they should add locks to doors too so it can’t open doors
It would also give the opportunity to escape him by running towards mobs because the cave dweller will attack them first
It would be cool if there was a structure that spawned in big, open caves that was meant to help defend the mineshafts against the dweller but it didnt work out. Something like a destroyed defence post or sth?

I think the mod would be a lot scarier if the Cave Dweller was a little more rare. Feel like it right now the moment you enter a cave you already know you are about to get hunted by this thing but yk if its a little more rare for the dweller to spawn (maybe only when you are really deep in a cave and stay there for more than 10 min) it would make for a scarier atmosphere overall. Also i think itd be cool if the stalking sequence was longer.
The stalking sequence is actually around 40 minutes. I just cut a lot of that out

It’s honestly too fast. It would be much scarier having it run your exact speed or maybe just a little faster because once it sees you you basically die in a few seconds but being chased is probably one of the best horror factors
I like how Kyropulse almost got killed by a big, scary entity yet proceeds to follow after it moments later. A good depiction of how content creators in movies often get killed by their wanting to go after clout, very interesting video overall!

You can see in 7:19 (and earlier) he has the cave dweller spawn egg already, a few seconds later he has full netherite (look at the armor bar)

I think the finishing touches should be that he can swim, and he can break 1 block walls (have it take a second or two).
Maybe instead of breaking the walls (cuz that would cause annoying griefing of structures you want to last), it should instead phase through them. But yeah, have it take a few seconds to phase through.
@@lauren_e_s Nah breaking it slowly is scarier, imagine hiding inside the walls and seeing one of the blocks slowly (maybe like 10 seconds for a stone block) breaking and since he can crawl through 1x1 hole he jast crawls through the whole he himself dug.
Edit: also give him better path finding so he doesnt always mine blocks and actually try to find a way to get to you first before attempting to mine and if there wasnt any path for him he would just start mining the moment he hits the dead end and 1 more thing to spice it up better is to let him crawl through the ceilings so that way he wont get stuck while moving up vertically like spiders do.

i really like how for there are some long segments without jump scares or big events because it keeps you on edge even while just watching. most of the time people put music over non-eventful parts but i really like the immersion of this. keep up the good work!

I feel like making the cave dweller have some big knockback would make it even more terrifying, so instead of just hugging you and running around you, it just swipes at you throwing you backwards before dashing towards you again.

I remember a moment when I downloaded this mod and started mining in caves , so for the next 15 minutes it was okay but my luck was pretty good so I found ancient city with cave dweller and warden just 40 blocks away so it got dark and the sound was terrifying. I just screamed after the mob appeared in front of me as I thought of running

Loud sounds =/= scary. What or this thing was just crazy fast, mostly silent except for a scurrying sound, a soft pattering of claws across stone, just beyond your vision, then suddenly you turn a dark corner and there it is down the way from you. It turns its head towards you, smiles with a toothy grin and quicker than you can process, jumps through a darker passage

They should add the darkness effect but not as intense so you can still see it’s eyes and it’s figure but not it’s color like it’s just out of sight
Imagine if the cave dweller can dig like players can. Nowhere would be safe.
How to avoid the cave dweller (By pillaring):
As long the cave dweller is far enough and you have enough space in a cave, then you can pillar up and build blocks around the block you are on, then the cave dweller can't get to you. (This advice is based on my current knowledge of the improved cave dweller's climbing ability due to the ability being similar to vanilla spider climbing.)
Oh shoot I didn’t even think of that.. idk how fast it can climb though I’ve not tested it yet 🤔
That's why they should make it able to climb ceilings in the next version :)

I realized in the old mod, it's chase and attack phase is dependent on wether or not you look at it. So just always look down

@@Kyropulse Illusions would be so sick on this mod like schizophrenia. Sounds that aren't actually there, seeing the monster but it's not actually there. Hearing blocks break or just messing with the hud. Almost like your character has extreme anxiety and paranoia

@@Kyropulse I wish I did mate. There has to be one out there somewhere! maybe with a bit of digging, but I think adding small things like that would elevate the paranoia because I feel like the build up to the monster is scarier than the monster itself

If it hits you would see darkness around you and the creature would leave you alone and stalk you then unexpectedly rush at you from the darkness (could be after minute)
While I think it would be cool for sure, if it were to become offical Minecraft would have to have ditch their E for Everyone rating. Cause I can only imagine the drama that would happen cause their kids would be absolutely terrified of the game
