The problem is that Tefal (and probably other manufacturers as well) use ordinary steel screws to secure the handles, which rust, especially since they're screwed into aluminium! I now replace ALL the screws in all my pots & pans with stainless steel ones (from a popular auction site). The usual size is M5, 25mm long with Torx T-25 head. I also re-tap the sockets with an M5 tap if there has been corrosion, and put a smear of food-safe silicone grease on the threads. They never rust or seize up after this!
@@HowToBloke No problem, it's a really useful video. And, if I REALLY can't get the rusty screw out, as a last resort I'll drill a 3mm hole in the aluminium collar & inject JB-Weld epoxy into the handle attachment! Then it will never ever come loose again... 😄
Appreciate your efforts 👍
My pleasure. Thanks for watching #HowToBloke 👍
Thanks for the tips! I need those tool to fix my pans! :)
I bought a tool-set of 9 Torx screwdrivers as used in this video from Amazon for less than €10
@@HowToBloke There are soooo many types of screw head nowadays! My food processor has tamper-proof Torx screws with a pin in the middle! 🤪
Thanks!
