As a queer Christian hearing Julien talk about her faith was so special to me. I know I'm watching this 5 years after publication but I'm SO GLAD I came across it today.
This did not feel like 46 mins! I was so invested in this entire conversation. It felt like a mental carwash. Very refreshing to know there are other people that have the same thoughts and idiosyncrasies that I do.
i’m a really anxious person, especially when it’s time to go to sleep. every night, i put one headphone in and lay in bed and i listen to this video. this conversation has helped me sleep for the last 3 months and helped me understand myself so much in the process. thank you
honestly, I did not intend to watch the whole interview in one sitting because of my short attention span but the purity and honesty of this video were so captivating that my mind was blown in every minute of it and i was unable to leave. Really cool concept, great execution. Goes into quite a bit more depth than your run-of-the-mill music interview, and avoids the stereotypical questions. Julien's always a treat to watch/listen to because she's so insightful and honest, but this one in particular is really good because of how open and relaxed she is around you. Nice work!

I’m an INFP with over a year of sobriety, I can relate to this so much. When I was going through treatment this was my favorite my favorite part. We did art therapy and it was basically hours of just shooting from the hip on canvases and talking about our feelings and what not. I saw a comment somewhere in here that summed it up well, painting freely with your hands and speaking freely. I would’ve loved to have Julien in my therapy classes, super insightful!

Regarding the ideology of T-shirts… I want bought a T-shirt that said ‘stay strong’ right before I was due to have pretty major reconstructive foot surgery. Now it’s the first shirt that I grab when I’m having anxiety or panic attacks or ASD meltdowns because the texture doesn’t repulse me. So that worked out great.
I love you no matter what you think or who you are. Universally we all do. The environment we grow up in within the first 4 years of our life is crucial. We should all know this. Again Julien I appreciate you and your music so much. Thank you.
following up: i love SO MUCH of this conversation, like pretty much all of it, but i wanted to thank you for the conversation here about tics. i know that there are LOTS of motor tic disorders and lots of places they overlap with things like autism (and probably OCD) with stereotyped movement etc etc but because people focus so much on like...i don't know, i feel like it's sort of medicalized, maybe because people want to draw a line in the sand between Tourette's and being "crazy" or something. And so I'd never known that there ARE anxieties and self-judgements that are specifically linked to different tics, just because no one ever talks about it! Which is dumb! And the fact that they do (have specific thought patterns) completely vibes with other similar things I've experienced as someone with intrusive thoughts, compulsions etc. And not that it matters if I've experienced similar things -- just, I feel like things that seem related usually, neurologically kinda are? So thank you, and Julien, for just bringing that up and talking so honestly about your experiences because I think more people should be able to just TALK about their neurological/psychological/medical/etc stuff without the stigma and weirdness so much of society has about it. Also, in general this was such a cool conversation, I'm going to have to go back and watch more of these! It's so cool to watch people build up paintings while the conversation also builds on itself.
