Where can I purchase parts needed such as main bearings and seals as well as gaskets etc. Engine stripped but haven’t been able to find anything.
Hi there! Try mopedrenovering .se look for sachs 50/3 (3 speed) or 50/4 (4 speed)
Great job, when oems are replaced with manual cct's are you familiar with having to block the oil hole on the head so oil pressure isnt lost?
Good question, i actually dont remember. If you are considering one you should look into that. It might have been blocked off at the mating surface where the gasket is
Can you send me link for the tool to open the clutch housing
I think that was something i made. To pull the hub off i used the flywheel puller.
I am taking about the tool at 10:04 Also if you know where I can buy/download the engine book that will be vary helpful By the way i relly liked t video. I'm rebuilding a 2 gear sachs from scratch and it's not easy to find the right tools/parts

i really hope that nose cone had points in it and not an electronic ignition. they really don't like it when you weld by them. the patch turned out nice tho.
Thanks! The ignition was removed first but thank you for the tip
Why can't you talk?
Because its hard to find something smart to say while doing relatively difficult things?
Nicely done. A modern master.
Thanks
really an amazing job
Thank you!
Do you sell these? I have a digital dial gauge . Stew Mac makes one but they sell it with the gauge which I don't need. Also the video was fun to watch nice work.
Thank you for that! I made it for my own use, i dont sell them. In all honesty its easier to file the nut by feel rather than using the tool.
Det ska ligga en bricka mellan tätningen och ytrre lagerbanan.
Tackar!

@simeneriksson9953 No idea why your comment disappeared, but here goes: Halla!
You can find any information you need in a good machinists handbook on bushing manufacturing and shrinkage at install. The bushing ( or bearing) is fine. Your install tool could have been a few thousands smaller that bore size. Different bushing materials have different shrinkage ratios. The more you make the better you get at it...
Agreed, thanks
Great Tool, thanks can you give dimensions of the block
Thanks! It is 32mm wide, 24 tall and 20mm thick. Here is a cad model and pdf drawings grabcad.com/library/guitar-stringheightgauge-1

Hi, i have no idea
Hello! Great video. I am working on a Sachs 50/ma 47cm3 2 speed automatic. Do you have any information on it? Do you know where I can get replacement parts?
It is a 1971 model
@@fly2kdw Hi Elliot! I do not have any first hand experience with it. But i think it is also called saxonette. I do think piston/rings and gaskets will fit from other sachs models of that era if bore size is the same and motor looks similar. Gaskets can also be cut from gasket material. Crankbearings can be sourced from normal bearing dealers. RNmotor in sweden seems to have some stuff (they ship worldwide). Best of luck with your project!

Hi I’m in Atlanta have 404 Sachs don’t start up
Check spark and fuel. Clean carb and put new fuel in it.
@@semotorcycle no spark
Sure its not a 504? Start simple, New sparkplug. Check ignition switch/stop switch. Check electrical connections. If it has points ignition skuff the breaker a bit and meassure/set the gap. If still nothing, the stator might be bad.
Don’t know if your interested... I just removed my bearings from an aluminium crankcase by putting it in the oven at 160°c for 30 mins.. (be aware... wife won’t be happy... burnt oil stinks!). Pull the case out and tap the back of the bearings lightly and they will drop out! I even had some just drop out during the heating process - so have something under them. Once out, back into the oven to cool slowly so you don’t warp the engine. Installation: heat it up same way, and cool the bearings in a plastic bag with dry ice! They will just drop in! Use an internal bearing puller (or a couple of old screwdrivers with bent tip) works for those in blind holes!
Good tips! Thanks!
Could I get leads on parts finding for this motor? I have a 72 Arctic cat Prowler with the Sachs motor, and really need a few parts and seals and a throttle cable bad. I’ve had the bike since I was 4 and I’m 47, and want my kids to keep enjoying it. Any help, thanks.
Is it two speed automatic? if so its called sachs 50/A, i do think its mostly the same as 50/2 and probably the narrow case 50/3. It seems rnmotor.eu has english website and ships worldwide. Drop them a mail and see if they cant help you out. Best of luck!
@@semotorcycle it is the 2 speed automatic. It doesn’t have the manual pedals or the shift levers under the carb, those are plugged. I appreciate it! My grandma bought it in 1972 and I’ve had it all these years. Only til recently it has always worked. Just finding a throttle cable will get it going. The tank this year rusted thru on the bottom, so I have to do tank lining now also. A new tank might be a miracle to find.
@@wademiller2505 Just get a universal throttle cable, the ones with screw on ends. Yeah welding rottet out tanks are always fun!
@@semotorcycle probably what I’ll have to do. Yes I’m dreading the tank fix haha. One other question...you know what the bore diameter of the piston is? I could really use piston rings mainly, and a new piston if I can find one. Thanks again.

My buddy actually put a 98ccm piston and cylinder from a stationary Sachs engine on his Sachs 50 engine! I think he had to do some small modifications but it was super fast in the end, 100-110km/h was the top speed!
Now that is pretty awsome! 100km/h on this thing would be scary! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@@semotorcycle yeah it’s super scary to ride but it’s not in a tempo moped, the engine was in a Hercules k 50. I think the Norwegian tempo panther looks similar to the k 50

This video series is great! I really enjoy watching it as I have an old 70's sparta sport moped standing in the barn that I'm looking forward to restore. It belongs to my grandpa, and has been standing still for 20 years or so! It still runs pretty well but the clutch seems to be stuck. It has somewhat the same 50cc sachs block with a 2 speed transmission. I'm a bit scared to open and disassemle it though, so these video's could be really helpful. Nice edit with the screws by the way, really entertaining!
Thanks! Yeah they can be a bit scary. Take alot of pictures and keep track of all the washers and shims. Take your time with it and it will work again!
Awesome!
Thanks! Did you figure out the problem with your motor?
@Jean Melim I dont know why your comment disappeared, but please feel free to post it again.
I have seen them come out by slapping on a wooden block but thst is a new one. For heating i used to use an electric hot plate as it gives a nicely controllable and even heat without the need to stand there waving things about.
Hot plate is definitively the better option, i just dont have one. Thanks : )
