A trend that REALLY needs to die is youtubers having obnoxious muzak in the background! Trust your voice, it is good enough to keep your audience awake and your content interesting. 😊
I disagree on the Swatch one. For sure stop the limited in-person only drops that only serve to get the hypebeasts foaming at the mouth trying to flip them, but if they keep releasing collabs and just put them for sale online, I'm in 100%. A Swatch was the first watch I ever remember wanting as a kid and I never got one, so I make it a point to *always* have a Swatch in my collection. Now I'm an adult watch nerd who likes luxury watches and has a respect for the icons and they're doing collabs with them. That's awesome to me and always will be.
Don’t make those cheap plastic childrens toys seem better than what they are. They are trash. Your childhood memories don’t hold weight to anyone. I wanted to be an astronaut, then I turned 12.
@dmoneydmoney6050 I think this is a different take entirely. That has nothing to do with the collaborations and solely with Swatch as an entire brand (not counting other Swatch Group entities). That's fair, but you're obviously not who my comment was aimed at in that case.
Another great video, Jory --thanks. A trend I would like to end is that of the "tiny-wristed" youtubers constantly preaching that too many watches are too big, and that the "goldy locks" size is definitively at 38-39mm.
Keep in mind that the original Rolex Submariner had a 37mm case. 38-39mm cases aren't for "tiny" wrists. They were large men's watches historically. Dress watches of that time were even smaller. Not everyone today wants to wear a dinner plate on their wrist.
I’m currently waiting for an Omega Speedmaster Reduced. It’s my first 4 figure watch purchase. It is solely because of the moonswatches I was able to buy at a much lower price. So it works.
I hope the trend of having oversized watches will die out forever. Some are so big, especially on people with noodle arms, that it seems like they should have a counterweight on the other arm. It's ridiculous! Also, no more sports watches with suits!! The only one that is allowed to do that is James Bond. Speaking of suits..... stop wearing brown shoes with your blues suits for crying out loud!! Watch brands need to hire real people, doing real ads! Wear them properly on the wrist and don't let them slide down on your hand or close to your elbow. Man, what happened to society.... EDIT: @4:39 I 100% agree on MIDO, I love that brand, and they are just stowed away somewhere within the Group and forgotten about. I think they'd be better off being independent again to be honest. The contemporary design is a hit and miss in my opinion, but they have great products and -innovation. Their history is rich and widespread, and there are no scandals (to my knowledge).
I think the sustainable thing you have a point, but for me it's not about the environment, it's about creativity. I think it's cool. Fully agree with the full lume, especially in a field watch. For it's original intended use of any kind of military/tool watch, that would have gotten your head blown off😂
Signum and Wise will niw officially hate your stance! 😅 alsi how about a retro swatch from then80s but made of stainless steel with a sapphire crystal -- just to be opposite?
Maybe I'll get a blue rubber strap for my Pagani. Oh, I think the term you want for some of this "sustainable" stuff is greenwashing, an attempt to make consumers think you are more environmentally friendly than you really are to just get them to buy stuff. "Bio-ceramic"? Plastic by any other name. Shame on you Swatch Group.
Anybody else getting tired of the hype surrounding meteorite dials? I thought they were interesting at first, but after however many dozens of microbrands releasing them, I've gotten tired of hearing about it. Some look cool, but most don't do much for me.
For English viewers. A grain of salt = A pinch of salt. Or. A grain of sand. Love the channel and agree any watch beyond Casio F91 is not eco friendly 😁
Completely disagree with the Swatch collaboration. They need to release twice a month some Moonswatch limited editions. And we also need some Timex-Swatch and Invicta-Swatch collabs. Not that I would want one. But I like to see all these TH-camrs and the usual haters losing their minds.

Oh yeeesss!!! So glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Music is a real put off
Agreed. Starting to unsubscribe from channels that do this, and no longer rec them to others
Harsh for one 6 min video. 🤣
@@thetimetellerthe comments are not wrong though
Never said they were wrong:)
Just harsh to unsubscribe when I tried something new for ONE 6-min video out of the last 1,000+ I’m done for you guys. 🤣🫡

@@LauraKnotekthinking that any watch over 38mm is a "dinner plate" is a bit misguided imo.
This is not a trend. Just a return to normal after the oversized abominations that dominated the last 15 years.
@@LauraKnotekand not everyone wants to use a microscope to see the time.
Agreed. I love average sized watches and large watches. Let people like what they like.
Not bad, but do not touch my full-lume dial watches alone! The world is bad and sad enough, leave some room for fun :)
most distracting background music ever..
Another trend to leave in 2024: artificial scarcity.

Interesting take and Happy New Year!

I’m not a fan of the background music. I am a fan of your content. Happy New Year!
The best thing a watcher collector can do for the environment is to sell most of the watches, and not buy any more brand new ones
Loved the lever action in the intro!
Great vid. Looking forward to the next one for 2025 trends. Hopefully you have your dial color of the year for 2025!
"READ MY LIPS--NO NEW MOONSWATCHES!"
I wanna see gshock give us the analog version of a triple sensor heartbeat oxygen sensor. lol
Did you just declare a lume war?
Rumour has it that a Rolex and Timex collaboration is on the horizon… 😂😂
Romex? Tilex?
Signum and Wise will niw officially hate your stance! 😅 alsi how about a retro swatch from then80s but made of stainless steel with a sapphire crystal -- just to be opposite?
Can we include Butterfly Bracelets? 🤦♂ Instant disinterest in the watch for me.

What needs to stop is the wearing of a smart watch and a regular watch.
Yeh if u want to be ecologically sound just don't release your soon to be land fill watch in the first place
Jory has the best Blancpain pronunciation on TH-cam. "Blonc-Puh" 🗣️
🤣
With each passing day you’re sounding more like a 71 year old man.
Another trend that needs to die is tik tokrs putting their faces in their videos about watches

Please leave out the music!
Correct take. The only way to not affect the planet with your watch, is not to buy one. Greenwashing just makes people feel better, or smug.
Turn the music off
well on the point of plastic..... MoonSwatch = bioceramic = plastic

I would way rather have no background music, and while having a tooth puled, than that monotonous loop.
fauxtina lume.
Well, its going to be even worse. Really going to miss science and Democracy.
it won't be as bad as you think, just start to watch Fox instead of ABC
Reuse!
Happy Patriots Day. Fight Fight Fight!
