  • What are the highest paying jobs in the UK? In the United Kingdom, career opportunities abound and with salaries fat enough to meet the country’s high cost of living and your financial aspirations. You don't have to be a lawyer or data scientist to earn that much. Another popular profession people look to is investment banking. Still, these three are not the highest-paying jobs in the UK. There are other jobs that pay higher. This video will show you the 10 highest-paying jobs in the UK.
    10. Software Developer: Average Annual Income £50,000
A software developer is a professional who develops computer applications enabling users to perform specific operations on computers or other devices. Sometimes also called a software engineer, he develops information systems and solutions that optimize work processes. He would efficiently collect and analyze necessary technical data to get his work done. Software developers or engineers may also customize or repair existing systems running devices or control networks. More often than not, the software development or engineering profession requires working in an office or from home.
To qualify as a software developer, a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or information technology among other relevant majors is often required. You must also have job experience, including being familiar with various computer languages, such as C++, Java, PHP, Python, XML, and HTML/JavaScript/CSS, etc. You can’t do well without the knowledge of OS such as Linux, HPUX, BSD, Solaris, Mac OS X, and Windows.
    9. Financial Manager: Average Annual Income 55,000
Another lucrative job in the UK is being a financial manager, also called financial managers and directors. If this is your job, you’ll be responsible for monitoring your organization’s finance. You will also need to be making regular financial analysis from which you will be offering professional guidance to the management of your company and professional colleagues so that they can make sound business decisions that will sustain growth and increase profits.
A primary qualification for this type of job is a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, finance, economics, mathematics or statistics, or other management-related courses. Membership of relevant professional organizations recognized in the UK will be an added advantage. To be saddled with this responsibility, you must have got 10 years of experience in a corporate environment or corporate governance. Of course, in most situations, the more your experience, the higher your pay as a Financial Manager.
    8. Medical Professional: Average Annual Income £58,000
This is a very wide professional umbrella. Nevertheless, one of the highest paying jobs in the UK and, of course, in most countries is being a medical practitioner. And it’s not practical to fix their pay. However, in the UK the amount listed above is the average pay of medical professionals; bearing in mind that some of their specialties earn almost double that. In this category are anesthetists, hospital consultants, general practitioners, pediatricians, psychiatrists, radiologists, different surgeons, and other professionals whose job is to cater to the patients’ good mental and physical health.
Similarly, requirements for qualification for this job vary according to a specific profession. In all cases, a bachelor’s degree in medicine recognized by the UK’s authority regulating doctors’ practice, namely, the General Medical Council (GMC) is needed. You must be willing to devote, at least, five years to rigorous study in an accredited university.

Annual income GBP 60,000 means monthly they earn GBP 5,000 only. It means it may not be considered as highest paying jobs particularly with a tax burden of 45%.

I never realized that there is dramatic pay gap between UK and USA, for the same job and consideration of the exchange rate. Then to throw salt on an open wound, the income taxes and cost of living are considerably higher on average in the UK.
    1) developers with 3 years in US earn $130k, 7 years will get you $200k
    2) data scientist, fresh out of school will get you $150k, 5 years exp you are at $225k
    3) investment banker, junior out of school starting pay is $250k
    4) marketing director $100 to 200k
    5) IT director, $180k
But. This list is nowhere close to reality.
IT Sales Professional, that are really good will make $300k as a farmer to well into 7 figures for business development.

This is redicilous! Software Engineer average is 60K! ??? Please do your own research and you will realize this video data is very inaccurate. Engineers here earn 100K GBP to 300K GBP easily if they are mid career and above.

Many decorators, plumbers, gas engineers, electricians, need I go on…….. don’t get out of bed for less than £1000 per week as self employed people in the SE of the UK. £1.500pw is pretty standard for them.
