Thanks a lot for educating us about the (very) rich Indian culture. I wasn't aware of Charvaka, which was a big surprise to me. Then someone I know commented something about Jainism... then I've realized that I should watch the entire playlist. Let's start from the beginning, in this case! Once again, thanks a lot!
Since you're an avid learner i would suggest you a book... 'Indian Philosophy' by S. Radhakrishnan (former President of India) This book was written around 1920s when the period of historical discoveries was on the rise in India which made the study of various religions, sects, cults very comprehensive and enriched. This book will elevate you in so many ways about so many religions of India and the world.
Thank you for the very nice lecture. I must admit that in Swami Dayananda's explanation Brahman/the Self is not described as a fourth state. It is considered to be the normal state (whether we know that we are the self or not). Greetings from Germany!
Hi Nonduality Georg, I am really enthralled by the growing popularity of Sanskrit and Vedanta in Germany, what's the driving force for youth to take up these studies? Is it the search for happiness???
@@thejesify I think so. But it is not much new. Germans have always been interested in Indian Philosophy and Sanskrit. Who can forget the great Max Mueller?
@@thejesify I guess it's because of curiosity of German people and their desire to know things. Which we Indians lack. We are happy in our own little nutshells.
Respected sir, You are humbly requested to use Hindi words, which do not have english words. It is "Yog (योग) means conjunction". There is no substitute word in English like Yoga. That will be great service to the Indian language, in particular Sanskrit/Hindi. Thanks
Dr Sethy, lecture on Indian Philosophy using the methods and thinking made available to him by thinking of Western World. Anyway comparison and definitions of lines is definitely not Indian Philosophy. The term "system" has no equivalent in Indian thinking.
will u plz provide lectures on thebelow topics PHILOSOPHY OF RELIGION 1. Notions of God : Attributes, Relation to Man and the World (Indian and Western). 2. He makes a lot of generalised claims about different philosophies in regards to soul and existence of God in different forms. Critical approach seems to missing here.
Don't think it's a good idea to focus on the analysis of other philosophies from this lecture series. That being said the domain of coverage of Indian philosophy seems good to work with.
If the goal in Jainism and Buddhism is to be free from suffering, why do adherents of these philosophies keep bringing children into this world? This world = inevitable suffering.
if you want answer than give me some another contact like email etc which cannot be visible publicly....believe me ..you are way beyond the truth about developing world understanding...

Wery hard to understand his pronounciation for any non Hindu> Hindu people please, please kindly work more on your English accent at school. I usually have no problem understanding anybody who speaks English whether the person is an European, Asian or African with one constant exception - citizens of India. An utter nightmare, sorry but i have to say that. I don't understand a word. You have such a strong accent that it is like listening to somebody speaking with a full mouth. Take it easy, slow down, and at least try to pronounce the words in a proper way. Leaving this now and going back to Radhakrishnan introduction - at least I am able to read what he says without having to listen to him.
+Stefan first have respect towards guru.... u dont always get everything served ready on platter buddy.... one should also try to acclimatize..... aren't we trying to learn american/british/german accent/language when we want to study in their country? learning to understand indian english accent is also a similar job for u.
Please work on your understanding. Firstly, Hindu is not a Nationality. Secondly, a person is speaking in your language so you can understand that. You should be grateful for what you're being given. And Thirdly, there is nothing called as a 'Strong Accent'. Even you have an accent which is difficult for us to understand. Rejecting what is different and naming it wrong is foolish. Also, please understand that he is not teaching it specifically for Mr. Stefan, so he doesn't need to change his natural accent to suit your needs. Why don't you learn Hindi instead? Oh wait! it's out of your comfort zone. You sir, are worth nothing with that attitude.
haha, don't you think madam for that he will have to be grow again to dispel his culture and Bengali tradition ...? Let's try to adapt, the learner has to change, Guru is a tree too old with its tree too deep, learner is young with roots aspiring to go deep
+Rahul Surajith its not being racist south indian people may understand his pronunciation quite differently, mother tongue influence shall be neutralized when speaking English. You donno what's meant by being racist and judging me as if I were the racist. You don't know how people here understand and you are Calling simply racist,it shows who is in ignorance here.
+Thejes Udayan its all about neutralized English. It doesn't mean him to forget his culture and speak in American or British slang. It is a general suggestion for everyone who speaks English, not to show the mother tongue influence like sound ba for va which gives different meaning to listeners and it makes misleading too,it is bad for a lecturer. Now tell me did I suggest him to dispel his culture and tradition.Nothing like that, small improvements have to be made while pronouncing certain words. That's what he need to do.
+Vankayala Kameswara Sarma bickering about semantics is just petty. And I don't know how you could possibly judge my knowledge of semantics from that high horse on which you're sitting.
Why don't you try learning to write in English before criticizing the prowess of others. First off, your use of passive voice is ungrammatical. What exactly are trying to express in that sentence anyway? Secondly, your follow up sentence should begin with a capital 'Y'. Thirdly, the phrase 'try in your own language better' makes you sound like a toddler. Finally, you just sound like a hateful xenophobe. If that is the case, then please refrain from engaging with the world beyond your 'fish bowl' (so to speak).
He explains concept clearly.. The purpose of language is communication that he is doing nicely.. Moreover this not English literature or phonetics Class

In India there is nothing like Indian Philosophy here we called it "Darshana" _/\_ which is completely different from Philosophy
Nonsense, Dharshana is the Indian version of philosophy..
Overly secular perspective which is not called for to delve into these profound works.
