I love how all the orchestral stuff is gothic, tragic, sad, because you know what Jackie is doing is bad for him. Then the metal kicks in and you think "AW FUCK YEAH LETS RIP THIS BASTARDS APART WOOOO!"
I recently revisited this game, it's still one of the most awesome action games I've ever played. The darkness 2 was a good game but never really could compare to this one. Presentation is top notch, and this music is incredible. I'd ask for a modern remake, but I know that's too much to hope for.
Darkness 2 felt like an expansion. Darkness 1 still holds up graphically. They didn't have to add multiplayer but did anyway, which was fun when it worked and when it was actually possible to have lobbies during its release.
@@dylanforewinter3443 just finished it on xbox one x, the resolution is shit, sub 720p but forced x16 anistropic filtering helps a lot. Framerate is 30 locked zero dips but with motion blur its smooth. I happen to have a 1080p 120hz monitor which xbox one x supports so it was overall a very good experience after all these years. Plus upcoming Xbox Series X is said to FORCE every backwards compatible game to run x2, x4, x8 of their resolution so if you buy one on november, it will let you play both The Darkness 1 and The Darkness 2 at 4k, since they are both backwards compatible. I am a PS fan tbh but im enjoying Xbox back compat so much i can go for a Series X for these old forgotten gems.
Wonderful music... wonderful story... wonderful characters... wonderful gameplay... wonderful graphisms... wonderful !!! There are no other f*cking words dudes !
When this song came on in-game, I swear i felt the darkness crawl and convulse up my back, with every enemy I slaughtered mercilessly and coldly. and I have to admit......I....liked....it!!! >:)
Am I the only one who thinks this soundtrack has some somber notes scattered throughout, such as 4:14/10:10? It's as if the music, while still conveying a sense of death and destruction, is also reflecting the sorrow within Jackie.
It definetly was a nice game and an awesome final assault, but I do prefer the second game's art style more, wich was closer to the comics and Jackie interacting more with the Darkness. It sure was a nice game tho and I like both of them
no one knows the truth about the darkness....... >:) but i do.....i know what the truth is...When the angelus and darkness come together they make something.....i think they create GOD..an invicible creation, nothing can harm it, or match its knowledge.... the ultimate being
I like how you can literally see Jackie arriving on the eclipse, clearing out the mansion, and climbing the lighthouse as you're hearing this.
there is NEVER gonna be a game like this one... NEVER
its quite literally, one of the best made
@@harrymcfatterson3734 indeed it is my friend
never huh?... so The Darkness 3 will be never developed?
@@javierbarraza7668 unfortunately not. It's been around a decade since TDII was released.
@@javierbarraza7668 the darkness 2 wasn't anything like the darkness though.

This game is now available for Xbox One via backward compatibility. It's time to embrace the darkness again

So sad that this game never come to PC. Had this for xbox 360 though. This game should be ported or remastered for PC.
Good thing is this ported to Xbox One via backward compatibility

If you THINK that's what happens, then it doesn't make it 100% true does it?
They did. It's called the Witchblade lol
This is the part where I mention Detective Sara Pezzini
