    I wanted to make it larger so, without changing your pattern, I used larger hooks. I made one using a J hook and one using a K hook, the K hook was perfect for my medium sized dog. Just a hint for someone who like me, can't figure out how to make it bigger or smaller to suit their animal.

      After you do the 10 rows for the body and the arm holes, you chain one, cut the yarn and pull it through. Then you start the row which will connect the body to the arm holes. This starts at 20 minutes 30 seconds into the video. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I think you were referring to the edging around the coat after you’ve done the sleeves. I lost that part of the video but it is a reverse single crochet. I don’t know why your work is curving unless you were not doing the reverse single crochet. Watch the video where I do the first sleeve with the reverse single crochet border. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching!

    minute 16:24 i am so confused with the slipknot - mine doesn’t look like yours? idk what i’m doing wrong but im connecting the 10 mini rows to the body of it (mid section) together and idk how not to???

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying but I’m going to guess that you did not finish off the 10 mini rows. There should be a gap at the base of the ten mini rows where you have put your stitch marker so you begin again with a slipknot at 16:24 with a new piece of yarn. It’s important to put the stitch markers in place where they need to be. If I am wrong and you did put the stitch markers in correctly, then I’m not really sure what happened. I hope that helped.

    Hi I absolutely love the way you give tutorials! Now my dog Chino is around 7 - 8 lbs. I believe he’s around medium small dog size. Can you give a tutorial on a little bit bigger sweater than the one on this tutorial?

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you click on my videos you will see another dog sweater for any size dog. You just measure the neck before you make it.
      But, you could try going up to a larger crochet hook on this pattern and use a J hook and I think that may fit a 7-8 pound dog. Thanks so much for watching!

      Go to yarnspirations.com and search pattern number RHC0713-014852M. It is a free pattern.
      The pattern is done in stripes, so the instructions are a little bit different.

    Why does no one show putting them on a dog? My dogs are still young (less than 1 year and 3 months) and hy-PER. When I look at cute designs like this I don't see how I would ever put them on! I can barely get them into a "step in" harness lol!

    I have been working away at this sweater and it seems that the leg hole will be way too wide for my chihuahua. Is there a way to alter the leg openings without ripping the whole sweater out?

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  ปีที่แล้ว

      The section where you make the leg holes calls for 10 rows on either side of the leg hole openings so you can try reducing it to 8 rows which will make the holes smaller but will also make the the total length of the sweater 2 rows shorter. I don’t think the shorter length is anything to worry about though.
      I hope that helps.Thanks for your question.🙂

    Watching you struggle trying to get your hook to cooperate on the side of the collar is why I don't like Susan Bates hooks they don't have a pointy enough head to get into tough stitches and the neck is too flat. Thanks for the great tutorial

    I did this sweater for my Chihuahua, but when I was about to closed it I tried it on her and it is a little small on her belly area, its too tight on her, is there anyway I can add some stitches to the sides or something to make it bigger? Or do I have to start all over again?

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps you could add on a row of double crochet or maybe make a belt of single crochet to the length you need and slip stitch it to the edges. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    My collar is 26 rows because of the size of my dog, so is this only the stitches in the collar this charges or will it effect the body of the sweater also?

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it will effect the size of the body. If you make the collar smaller, then the body of the project will also be smaller. Since the pattern
      for the collar is 29 rows then you should make your rows an odd number like 25 or 27. I’m guessing you have a very small dog.
      If you just want the collar to be smaller and not the body and you have already made the collar, then I would go up one crochet hook size to do the body from this point.
      I hope that helps. Thanks for your question and thanks for watching!

    I am perplexed, I am doing a size medium, 39 sts. Then when you have the increase row it jumps to 59. But following the pattern you would have 38 increased sts and 19 single sts. The math doesn't add up.
    Am I missing something?

    • @crochetnut1114
      @crochetnut1114  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are talking about the section, where the header says BODY then 2nd ROW, make sure you chain one, and then do two SC in the first SC and two SC in the next SC.
      So basically, the first two stitches will have two single crochet in each one. Then the third stitch will be a single crochet once. That should fix the math.
      Thanks for your question and thanks for watching!
