- Unidentified aerial phenomena have gone from what some considered a far-out conversation to the halls of Congress. Some lawmakers, including Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., are pushing for more transparency around unidentified flying objects. In the annual defense bill, they included a provision requiring disclosure of classified records relating to the phenomena, but key parts of the measure were stripped away. Burlison called the language that’s left “a joke” but says he’s not laughing about it.

But, the “non disclosure act” is a real thing with real consequences. Even if any people in congress were told, they would also be held back from talking by the NDA. Lots of “double edged swords” out there. So it’s very easy to believe that there is nothing.
The problem is that congress doesnt seem to have the appropriate clearance. That's why they tried to get into a SCIF with him. And got denied by the IC.

I've been pleasantly surprised by mr. Burlison. I thought he took a bit of an attitude in the congressional hearing, but he seems legitimately curious and he's been noticing the pushback he's getting to increased transparency.. It's very nice seeing skeptical people perk up and be like..wait a minute. Good stuff. Keep the pressure on.

I got the feeling that Burlison was uncertain about all this at the Grusch hearing, but he seems very different in his views now which is great to hear. Wonder if he's been privey to more information since the hearing 🤔
