I think it’s awesome this is happening. Joe is going to give Sammy and Mike a platform to reperform classics on top of. Anyone complaining about Joe vs. Eddie needs to stop. Joe is a fantastic guitarist and song writer. People should see how tough it is to play Raspberry Delta IV, Mystical Potato Head Groove Thing or Cool #9. Then you can criticize Joe.
The coolest thing I saw on internet was Satriani playing EVH, so nice!
It's not even arguable that out of all possible players...Joe is the guy to do this. I am glad to hear that he is forthcoming with concerns in a bare bones, honest manner. Humility is hard to find in a world of egoic musicians. Which is one of the primary reasons he is the ultimate fit for this tribute concert. My Opinion.
Search "Deraps" this is who they should be touring with to properly honor Eddie. It's actually scary how close it gets.

We want to see someone that is more of a contemporary of Eddie, that is proven himself over decades-as well as being an experienced professional touring musician. Van Halen fans are not interested in some social media guitar players, ha ha.
During the pandemic, I remember seeing something about him. And I’ve seen a few of his VH renditions. But I can’t stand to watch the kid, so corny and cheesy, playing in his room. Looks more like an air guitar contestant. 😝🤘🏻💦💦😭😅

Realistically, theres many TH-camrs that can duplicate eddie to the T. Unfortunately they don’t have the name or career like Joe. Im happy sammy is doing this, but it wont sound like eddie. Just like pantera reunion doesn’t sound like dime.
Look, if its that troublesome for Joe maybe he just step aside and let Wolfie do it. Honestly, he's the only that should be doing it anyway along with Alex, David, Micheal Anthony, Sammy, and Gary Cherone. Here's a idea, someone in that camp needs to get their head out of their ass, call Vegas and tell somebody that the 6 of them want a do a residency there celebrating the music of Van Halen.

This “I don’t want to lose myself” thing is just a lame @$$ excuse. You will NEVER lose yourself just because you just play a few shows, playing like a different guitar player. If that were true, Dimebag would have never sounded like himself lol or any other guitar player in the history of covering music lol
