    I first tried Ethiopian food as a vegan, so if you haven’t tried that cuisine yet, it’s a must. Especially injera (the bread)!

      Also, if you haven’t followed Beryl Shereshewsky yet, I recommend. She cooks viewer submitted recipes from all over the world. Terrible channel to watch when you’re hungry. 😂

    You should make a spreadsheet of your international meals/cocktails and make it public! I’d love to do something like that and also that way the rest of us can see what you have left so we can make recommendations.

    Just added Witchfairy to my wishlist! I collect beautifully illustrated children's books, particularly ones about fairies, fairy tales, dreams, etc and this looks like it would be a perfect addition.

      It looks super cute, doesn't it? I almost went off to buy it, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to have been published in the US.

    • @spinstercatlady
      @spinstercatlady 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Andrea-zv6up yes, it definitely does! I'm in the US too, and I order all of my European published books from either Blackwell's or Book Depository usually, since both offer free shipping. Book Depository has it, and not sure about Blackwell's. Hope that helps!

    Omg when you were talking about trying food from around the world, I was thinking "what if she talks about Portugal? That'd be cool" and then YOU DID! As a portuguese person, I now feel obligated to recommend a recipe from here, but the truth is that our typical food is not vegetarian. But you could totally adapt them. My dad is vegetarian and he makes a vegetarian version of "bacalhau à Brás" which is a cod recipe, but his is with leek, and I love it. I've just checked and there's recipes of leek "à Brás" online, so I'd recommend that :)

    Seema Pankhania/seemagetsbaked is doing a project of cooking every national dish, which are not all vegetarian sadly, but might give some inspiration?

    If you haven’t already, you should try Malta. I am 1/4 Maltese, and we have some amazing food. If you can make the curried pea Pastizzi, I think you would love it!

    • @JeansThoughts
      @JeansThoughts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Oh my GOODNESS! I just looked up curried pea Pastizzi and they look AMAZING. I am 100% making these soon - and we hadn't done Malta so that's fantastic, thank you so much!

      @@JeansThoughts I haven’t been to Malta since 2007, but we would always get them fresh from the bakery in the morning. I just realised you said Vegetarian, and the maybe more popular version are the Ricotta cheese ones. If you can have cheese, then have both! Enjoy! :)

    Seeing as you’re interested in the DC universe and comics, I recommend The Sandman by Neil Gaiman. It’s a mature comic series about Morpheus, father of Orpheus. He is the lord of dreams and nightmares and it explores his journeys throughout time, space and within the dreams of people we know from the past. For example, In one issue you can be in Ancient Rome with Augustus then the next you could be with Shakespeare in a tavern discussing his next play, then in the next you can be in the depths of Dante’s hell with Lucifer then in the next you can be among ancient Egyptian cat gods. It is extremely varied and is the main reason as to why I am studying an English and History degree because it showed me what that world could be and introduced me to literature outside of the curriculum. I think you’d really vibe with it if you haven’t heard of it before 😎

    If you’ve not done Korea (or even if you have, frankly, cause it’s delicious) you should try oi muchim! It’s Korean cucumber salad, it’s delicious, and vegetarian! I don’t like cucumbers much but I eat this like candy. I’ve had a steady supply in my fridge for weeks now haha.

    • @JeansThoughts
      @JeansThoughts  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Korea has been our number one favourite cuisine so far - we’ve ended trying a few and a couple have become staples of our diet but we haven’t tried oi muchim so thank you so much!!

    • @AliCatWrites
      @AliCatWrites 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JeansThoughts It’s so easy to make! The longest process is salting the cucumbers to get the water out, I let them sit for an hour before rinsing. After that, like five minutes lol. If you make it I hope you like it!!

    Main character of Oracle Code is Barbara Gordon, who is Batgirl but turns into Oracle after she gets shot by the Joker. Glad to know you don't need to know super specifics to read, but I think knowing at least some of the world would probably help center you in the story.

      As in styling or products? ^_^ I just wash it twice, sometimes 3 times, a week and use Lush Jason and the Argonoil solid shampoo, Pantene 2 minute miracle conditioner and then some argon oil or coconut oil for hair.
