As a native English speaker in the US, I can honestly say that most people in America will be thrilled that you are even trying to learn English. Most of us would be glad to help you in situations that you are unsure about. If you get into a situation where you don't know the right word to say, or if you don't understand something someone else said, don't be afraid to ask! Even if people do laugh a little bit, it's not to insult you. It's an innocent laugh and lighten the mood and show you that it's okay! Imagine if someone was trying to learn your native language. You would probably be excited to see someone putting in the effort, and you would want to help them. You wouldn't get uncomfortable if they made a mistake, you would want them to feel good for trying, and you would probably think the mistake was cute. It's the same for people learning English. You will do better than you think, and we want to help, not make you feel worse. 🙂

You still need to learn a lot of English. First of all, it's not "me always tries", but "I always try", secondly, It's not "a confidence", but "it gave me confidence". Anyways, if you really want to cultivate your confidence, and pluck up your courage, you have to listen a lot of English. This is not all about output, you have to receive a ton of comprehensible input. Haven't you heard about those famous writers who changed their names in order to publish novels? They did it because they were afraid of showing their poor written documents and be judged. However, after a while they wrote really well. And changed their nickname to their real name. If you want to write perfect English you have to be a little ashamed of what you share to others.

You are right! When one of my colleagues said that I have to do a session with a native speaker to solve an issue and I was actually nervous that time. Yesterday, I had a meeting with them and it was really comfortable to talk. Because they don't care about the mistakes as long as you are trying to convey that in ur manner. After that meeting I realized that no one actually care about the grammars and other people consider this lang like a medium to exchange your thoughts.

Hey Marina. I started watch your videos again, because I want to improve my English grammar and this is, I think 3 videos I watch, while I cooking hahah. I like your advice and the way you encourage people to speak English. It's really like u says...we need to start speaking and talking to people if we want to learn any language. We shouldn't pay attention to our errors. Really, nobody we laughing from us. I speak 4 languages. When I was 23 I have moved to Spain and people constantly was correcting me while I was speaking. I have never been angry for them even if sometimes they were laughing what I said. But only because it was funny. I find the best way to learn and be corrected instantly. When I was 31 I have moved to Germany. I had to " walk the same path" to learn German. Again, nobody was laughing from me. But also, German people don't correct you. I don't find this ok, but I know why they don't do this. I understand them. English language, I have never ever learned English at school etc. But I don't care if I speak or write correct. The most important is using language. Guys really. Maria is right. Just speak. I have lost confident in English vocabulary , When I study English, I usually forget most of the vocabularies and also make mistakes .I am also poor in vocabulary and I want to know a bunch of vocabularies of things and daily activities . It's nice to know people who has english as their native language but never judging other people just because they don't speak perfect english. I remember,it was christmas day .I was at church singing in the altar. While i was singing I forgot some lyrics. A friend who think that her English is perfect turned off the projector on purpose.( She wanted to make people in that church laugh at me, showing them that my English is not good ). Because she turned off the projector, i would be unable to handle the situation so I had to back up in order to see my friend's book who played the guitar while i was singing . It was so terrible But i thank God not even one person laughed at me. That person might think her English is perfect. but she didn't realize she Is lagging behind. 😂😂😂👎

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Marina... I understand clearly all your motivation but it's really hard for us as Indonesian who hardly meet any native speakers to speak with here. Studying English with the teachers at school isn't enough for Indonesia students to be able to master the four language skills ; writting, listening, reading and speaking, even the students start learning English since the are in Kindergarten until senior high school or university. The students have spent more than ten years studying English but very few of them are able to master the four skills. Marina.... I relate with this so hard. It has been really difficult for me to overcome the fear of being disliked by people in general let alone while learning English. The more I get to know people and gain experiences while being in different situations I believe it's just a matter of loving yourself and being proud of the efforts you're putting in rather than trying to be loved by everyone else. You are right! When one of my colleagues said that I have to do a session with a native speaker to solve an issue and I was actually nervous that time. Yesterday, I had a meeting with them and it was really comfortable to talk. Because they don't care about the mistakes as long as you are trying to convey that in ur manner. After that meeting I realized that no one actually care about the grammars and other people consider this lang like a medium to exchange your thoughts.
I got a friend and he is from the Dominican republic and he said he's nervous when he's talking with another people but when he talks to me he express himself really well.that So ironic

You can't learn anything from being perfect 👍. You are not too young or not too experienced to learn something new ... So just do whatever you like to do.. don't judge yourself by others ... There are some people who always trying to pull you back & discourage you eventhough you did the right things
Hey Marina. I started watch your videos again, because I want to improve my English grammar and this is, I think 3 videos I watch, while I cooking hahah. I like your advice and the way you encourage people to speak English. It's really like u says...we need to start speaking and talking to people if we want to learn any language. We shouldn't pay attention to our errors. Really, nobody we laughing from us. I speak 4 languages. When I was 23 I have moved to Spain and people constantly was correcting me while I was speaking. I have never been angry for them even if sometimes they were laughing what I said. But only because it was funny. I find the best way to learn and be corrected instantly.
When I was 31 I have moved to Germany. I had to " walk the same path" to learn German. Again, nobody was laughing from me. But also, German people don't correct you. I don't find this ok, but I know why they don't do this. I understand them.
English language, I have never ever learned English at school etc. But I don't care if I speak or write correct. The most important is using language.
Guys really. Maria is right. Just speak. Find motivation and something what makes you fun and talk to people maybe online...whatever...read Books, watch movies...

I have lost confident in English vocabulary , When I study English, I usually forget most of the vocabularies and also make mistakes .I am also poor in vocabulary and I want to know a bunch of vocabularies of things and daily activities . I don't want to use the same words all the time in my writing .It makes me difficult in learning English .But after watching most of your videos teaching so many different words and a lot of phrases that native speakers use ,I find myself more enthusiastic for English .And I am also afraid of speaking since I have never talked to foreigners .But your words give me much effort .I am really respect you marina .You are not only a great learner in English but also an amazing teacher to us .I am pretty sure that I will advance my skill in English like people I admire in English language ,thanks to your every videos I have watched.Very grateful for your teaching videos.

It's nice to know people who has english as their native language but never judging other people just because they don't speak perfect english.
I remember,it was christmas day .I was at church singing in the altar. While i was singing I forgot some lyrics. A friend who think that her English is perfect turned off the projector on purpose.( She wanted to make people in that church laugh at me, showing them that my English is not good ). Because she turned off the projector, i would be unable to handle the situation so I had to back up in order to see my friend's book who played the guitar while i was singing . It was so terrible But i thank God not even one person laughed at me.
That person might think her English is perfect. but she didn't realize she Is lagging behind. 😂😂😂👎

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Marina... I understand clearly all your motivation but it's really hard for us as Indonesian who hardly meet any native speakers to speak with here.
Studying English with the teachers at school isn't enough for Indonesia students to be able to master the four language skills ; writting, listening, reading and speaking, even the students start learning English since the are in Kindergarten until senior high school or university. The students have spent more than ten years studying English but very few of them are able to master the four skills.
Marina.... Would you mind to give us some suggetions or solutions both for the Indonesian English teachers and also the students the best way to master our English?
