I’m from Richmond VA, I knew this looked familiar…small world. Those Toyotas are amazing!!! I want one.

Drove right by ya on the way back in it. What year or any in particular? The only Toyota I have owned was a 04 Tacoma Pre-Runner, that little Tonka truck handled well.

Gen2 Avalon, right? We've had a lot more maintenance on our 03 because it sat, undriven, for two years while an estate was cleared. Quote from my mechanic, who hates working on old cars in the Northeast: "This car is amazing." Quote from my son: "This thing is FAST." Took me two years, but I finally have learned to insist on Toyota OEM replacements for anything that has reached the end after 23 years. Only 101k miles, so just barely broken in.

I had to look it up since I thought it was a 1st gen but you're correct. A sitting vehicle is as bad as an abused one: unless stored out of the elements and prepared properly.
Aftermarket parts are a crapshoot anymore & you are also best off doing just that, using OEM when possible. Yours is just getting broken in!!!!
