I just got my Terra pump and I'm super chuffed. It works on 26X4.8", 27.5+, 29ers and my Monster gravel bike so I'm pleased with my purchase. The gauge is very precise, the handle feels luxurious and I am a fan of lever lock pump heads. My mancave/garage workshop has a concrete floor so I put some car door edge guard on the bottom so I don't make it ugly down there. That stuff made it better. 👌 Thanks for the great pump.
Great price point for whom?? The consumer? The manufacturer? You are literally pumping air. If I can do that for half the price and don’t have to replace the half price device, then what is the benefit? I can adjust with my pressure gauge.
So, what are the advantages of the $145 Terra pump, over a $50 all digital, no need to pump it yourself, compact, air compressor, which you can also use to inflate car tires, no sweat? Oh that's right, NOTHING
Josh… 199€ for the wax? 5x current one, sold under 40€ (and 40% less volume - from 500 to 300g)… Am I missing something there 😅? Even at 2x the durability of your wax I currently use (and love) that’s a lot lot.
I've just switched over to their secret hot wax stuff and topping off with their super secret wax lube and it's been so good. I remember in his video the current one, he recommended something like rewaxing every 1000 miles. So take that as you will
Yes, it’s expensive. This is not a training chain treatment, it’s targeted towards race chains for either professionals where half a watt matters (and they’re not paying for it anyway) OR endurance event cyclists, particularly in harsh conditions, where the race length exceeded the treatment life of a waxed chain until now. The watts saved by using wax vs synergetic for a 12 hour event will be significant. Guaranteed we will see this at enduro events next season. I’ll be sticking with Hot Melt, but I’m glad Josh is always pushing the envelope. 😊
@@stevenhaver yea that ultra distance is quite a niche but yes they may benefit from 800km between chain swap. Now 8x the price / 100g or even 4x the price of a wax (if 2x more durable) is a hard jump. MS speedwax improved durability and performance with very little price increase.

Hey Josh. How does the new Hot Wax X hold up with riding in a rain storm or riding in wet muddy conditions on gravel ride. Do you have to rewax after each of these scnearios? What drip wax can you add? Will there be a liquid drip wax specifically for use with this new Hot Wax X? If so, when will it be available? Would be good to understand as I have the super secret hot wax and am a fan but need to justify the cost difference. 1/2 a watt is great but if it has to be rewaxed any time it gets wet or wet and muddy, it's no longer appealing. Thanks.
So the X definitely lasts longer, but in terms of wet/muddy conditions, it will contaminate all the same. Technically, you should be stripping and re-waxing or lubing your chain after every muddy ride no matter what lubricant is used. I will say that for a long wet/muddy event, you will still be far better off with HotWax X as the graphene is roughly the hardness of diamond and even when contaminated will run more efficiently and with more protective power of the metal in the chain than any other option.
@@SILCAVelo for the video about super secret hot wax and drip wax, Josh describes you use a microfiber cloth to wipe off the dirt/dust for a dry ride. And my understanding from the Silca answers to questions on that video, you can use the Silca wipes after a rainy ride or muddy ride. Being that I only ride gravel, I was hoping as long as it wasn’t a several hour race, and it was just wet and muddy during a 2-3 hour ride, that I wouldn’t have to re-hot wax my chain. That would be 1-3 times a month. So pour boiling water over the chain to get most of the wax off, then shake chain with degreaser, etc, then place in ultrasonic cleaner, then acetone, then dry, then hot wax in Instapot? Seems excessive and a huge time suck.
@@SILCAVelo sorry. Forgot to ask about if the new wax has a liquid drip version to apply like super secret drip with super secret hot wax. Or can you use the super secret drip wax with the X hot wax.
Nice wax but the pump just looks cheap. The green base looks out of place. It does not look elegant. Also the new Co2 inflation also looks cheap, the colors are rhe problem. The colors are making this new products looks cheap. Fyi, I own almost all silca products. Thanks
@SILCAVelo in "How to Extend the Life of your Hot Wax Treatment" th-cam.com/video/wLAt-Zmb_PM/w-d-xo.html you talk about SILCA Secret Chain Blend - Hot Melt Wax and SILCA Super Secret Chain Lube working together as a system, because they're identical, other than the emulsification in the latter. Can Hot Wax X be used as part of a system/topped off? If so, with what? How often? How does time between hot wazes compare to Secret Chain Blend - Hot Melt Wax when both are topped off?
You can use Super Secret to top up, but there won't be any graphene so if you are looking for the ultimate performance, it should be rewaxed. You should expect 300 or so miles out of a single application on average.
@@SILCAVelo Have you considered making a Silca Super Secret X, which would be the drip version of Hot Wax X? If Silca Super Secret X (were it to be created), were used by itself as a drip lube, not combined with hot waxing, would the interval between lubing be longer than for Silca Super Secret?

That nonlinear gauge as a retrofit on the Superpista would be good
Wow that pump is a game changer for tubeless setups! Great price point too. If people complain they don't know the quality and that is ok!

Dear @SILCA Velo - please put product link sin your video descriptions so we can easily click through to the items.
Done!
Dear Silca, is the pump serviceable? Does it use the same leather gaskets? Thanks!
What does the graphene do? And how do you prevent the platelets from just stacking on each other.
Basically graphene does nothing to lube due to poor penetration. Maybe It's just problem In AB. I hope that this produc will be better

@@bugabutu it’s indeed a very good solution to extend duration between 2 waxes or of are traveling without a spare newly waxed chain.

Switch over to UFO Drip 😜
Does the spa kit contain 4 spray heads or just 1?
It contains 3 spray heads for each bottle, except the Ultimate Bike Wash which does not spray on. Great question!
can i top off with the super secret drip wax after hot melt waxing with the Sicla Hot Max X to extend the period between hot melt waxing?
Yes you can
