    Great lesson thank you !!! If I may make a suggestion, try purchasing a Bluetooth or wireless mic, it will help remove the echo in the room and make your voice stronger and ultimately offer your viewers an even better video production. Just a thought.

      Thank you. Yes you’re absolutely right and it’s something I’m looking into. I usually do all my audio recording afterwards on a proper mic but this is the first video I’ve done that really required me to talk things through as I played the shots. As you say the room echo was awful so I’ll definitely be getting a mic for future videos of this nature.

    Helpful having your commentary on each shot. What difficulty level would you ascribe to this exercise? It’s one that even I can complete regularly on my 8x4.

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. It’s difficult to ascribe a level to it. It’s one of the easier drills I do but I still trip up on it occasionally. The nice thing about this drill though is that being simply adding some limitations (like reds first or something), it quickly becomes a little harder. You can always make it into a challenge that matches your own skill level.

      What sort of thing do you mean? It’s difficult as many of us play different variants of the game.

      @@PoolSchool Yes I know. We play British 8 ball and blackball is South Africa. The internet is dominated with American style pool so it would be great if we can do something with our style of pool. I think one of the main differences between English pool and American pool is that American pool is designed for a more speedy/ attacking game, while English pool is a more slower pace strategic game. So maybe a challenge to practice cue ball control for snookering an opponent?

      I've have done this challenge video before th-cam.com/video/dH1Xw3HE4tU/w-d-xo.html but I'll see about doing some others.

    I love the analysis of where the white is gonna go. You make it look easy mate. Cue ball control is my downfall so this was a superb video

    • @PoolSchool

      Cheers. Keep the cue ball on a string and the rest is easy!......well sort of!

    Hi mate. It would be brilliant if you could add the cue ball icon with the indication of the spin that are on your later vids onto this one.

      Unfortunately you can’t edit video’s that have already been uploaded to TH-cam but I am planning on going back and remaking some of my earlier ones to bring them more in line with the current stuff so I’ll see what I can do.

    I play on a 9 feet table, but absolutely love your videos and the minimalistic animation, but what happened with the sound here? Perhaps a mic would remove some of the echo in the room? Anywho; love the rest! Keep'em coming!

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks. Yeah this was the first video I tried talking directly to camera whilst playing and the sound quality wasn’t great. I now have a mic or use the go pro camera which is much better.

    Hi there. Thanks for the video. I notice you switched from a pool dining table to a supreme winner table. Can you give me your thoughts on the quality and value of the dining table and how it plays compared to a Supreme. Do they share any build components, also? Thanks. Jim.

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks. The dining pool table was a pretty decent table and certainly a great solution if you still need to use it as a table to sit at. There were only two issues I has with it. The first is that it is just not as robust as a table like the Supreme. Because of the shallow cabinet there was a little bit too much movement for my liking if you bashed into the table a bit when getting down for a shot. The other issue I had was more of a design fault. Inside a normal table the supports that the slate sits on are deep pieces of wood that are placed vertically so that the bear the weight. For some reason in my dining pool table these were fairly thin pieces of mdf placed horizontally. This meant that they bowed under the weight of the slate. Because of that the table would roll off a little at the ends making it almost impossible to play a shot along the top or bottom rail. This might just have been specific to my particular model though (DPT table from Home Leisure). Other than that it was a pretty good table though.

      @@PoolSchool thanks. That's really helpful and gives a lot of insight that I wouldn't have got elsewhere. Where are you based? Do you play on a local tour?

    Would you recommend a peradon cue? Thinking about buying the Luna or Saturn cue, both are 3/4 cues but don’t know if it’s worth the upgrade from Luna to saturn

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are a very good make although I’ve never played with one. Cues are a very personal thing so hard to say what’s right for someone else.

    • @westcottpool
      @westcottpool 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have two peradon cues, a Stafford with a 10mm tip and a Comet with an 8.5mm and love both. The price difference in the 3/4 cues is more cosmetic, paying for the splices in the cue, rather than an ‘upgrade’. If you’re not fussed about appearance, just go for the cheapest 3/4 Peradon cue with the tip size and weight you want.

    I love the grey cloth, everyone I know wants me to get a normal green cloth, but it think grey is the best. Any other colour is a no no, especially black

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always used to hate any colour other than green. Especially disliked blue ones that are common in some pubs. However the grey just looks great with the Aramith pro cup balls, and more importantly looks good in my kitchen!!

    Sorry, 5 minutes in and you’ve not potted a ball. Don’t need a commentary after each shot. Most people will switch off after 15 seconds.

    • @PoolSchool
      @PoolSchool  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry you feel that way. This is a “how to”
      Video not a demonstration. You can’t simply learn something just by watching someone else, you need to understand why something is being done in a particular way, hence the commentary.
