It's great to have you back with your brilliant coaching videos coach Nate. How would you breathe during a fartlek run? I imagine nose breathing for slow intervals, but what about faster intervals. Should we use nose/mouth considering it is a training run, or maybe mouth breathing so we get more oxygen in and get used to race breathing-pace? Thank you!
Great video. I try to breathe through the nose as much as I can and it feels much better than mouth-breathing. However, when going up hills, I inevitably start breathing through the mouth a bit. Once on the flat, I try to shift back to the nose-breathing.
I used to run exclusively breathing through my nose, but someone told me that was not good , so u changed it. Now I’m going back to it because nose/mouth breathing makes me hyperventilate.
We hear you. There's a lot of information out there. Ultimately the ability to practice and experience different breathing techniques will deepen our skill set and select the right breathing pattern for the right moment. Keep it up and let us know how it goes?
