Garou is now one of my favorite anti hero characters because he soo relatable whit the childhood and that he wants to be the most powerful monster in the cosmos
@@gabrelcastillo644 I honestly can't tell where he stands, he beats up heroes but never kills 'em, and he kills monsters. He wouldn't hurt kids, but at the same time kids like Tareo that he can kind of relate to/understand he goes out of his way to protect. Despite the fact that his ideology is pretty anti-corrupt and all, your right. I think he's more of an anti-villain all things considered, but he's still really balanced out. Regardless, he himself pretty much claims to be the villain. Still, there's no doubt he has the qualities of a hero, and he mocked other heroes for not being able to save one kid (Tareo iirc)
I like how his story played it out in the webcomic more. At the end of the fight the Hero Association wanted Saitama to kill Garou. Saitama refused and explained how Garou wanted to be a hero all along and how he had never killed anyone despite being able to. The kid then pointed out how Garou was the only one that came to his rescue. That's when Garou went off mocking the so-called heroes when they couldn't even save one kid. It was a pretty powerful moment.
The story of a boy who wanted the other side to get fair treatment. But instead they turned on him and labeled him as a monster. *And so that's what he became...*
in 2017 when I started watching the anime, I thought that Garou was a normal ass villain cuz I was only concentrating on Saitama's funny moments without concentrating on the plot. then in 2019 or 2020( i don't remember ) I rewatched one punch man concentrating on the plot, and then I realize that Garou is not like every other villain, he doesn't want to be a villain, the world forced him to be one, poor Garou, he deserves better.

I can’t wait for his end speech in the manga get animated. His ultimate aim was fantastic, of course deranged but it still kept this same energy instead of being too generic
If everyone's Good then no one is good Same goes for evil too, That's why we have both good and evil, But that does not make both okay. We just take a 1 sided thing and make one better even though People make it out to be the better the one too evil. That's Why we cant have Peace Cus everyone makes a whole new gray that gets made one sided Cus... No one understands it.
I really dont think so. Or that that is what the author wanted to show. In theory you could have all good and they really would be good. But in these cartoons the heroes only looked good, but didnt really act like heroes. Monsters were automatically labeled as monsters even if they werent. Like they ganged up on a monster trying to protect the ocean and killing its eggs. Garou wasnt looking so much at titles and more on what was behind acttions. To him that monster protecting the ocean seemed more like heroes than the actual heroes. You are not just because someone says so, but because of your actions. Thats why in the end Saitama says to Garou he (Garou) must have wanted to be hero, but he compromised.
“All I want is to make them understand” is such a powerful line when you think about it, what is it that he wants them to understand? How unfair it is for the monster? How fair it is for the little guy, the underdog? Or does he simply want to be understood himself

It keeps it from coming off as being preachy.

I think I've said this elsewhere but...I can never listen to this and not think of Bang said immediately before "Feel the pain of my *top student,* Charanko!" Garou isn't about to die because people want it. Bang certainly didn't want it to come to this. But he never explained himself before attacking his fellow students and then other heroes. Yes, he left them alive, but think of the people those heroes might have saved if they were not at the hospital, especially during the monster rampage. He claims to be fighting for underdogs, but who in the world would have called Mumen Rider or Charanko anything underdogs as he wailed on them. And on that note, why is Charanko his top student? Because Garou, his first top student, betrayed him beat up everyone else (exempting Bang himself) and intimidated all but the ginger karate kid out of the business. (Side Note: I kind of want to see more of Charanko getting to know Mumen. The former may get played like a joke, but he's like a younger and somewhat more bullheaded version of the latter, down to taking on an opponent who clearly outclasses him out of a sense of right and honor). Garou looks like he's about to die because he let his childhood bitterness get to him even years after he left his old school behind, and went on a rampage where he knowingly injured and endangered innocent people, including the very underdogs he claimed to be fighting for, while sucking up resources needed to stop an army of superpowered psychopaths.
You are right that Garou putting heroes in the hospital means less protection for civilians. But I’d like to point out that most of the heroes in One Punch Man care more about their rankings and popularity and the Hero Association itself is a corrupt organization. Child Emperor has tried to convince the association to make changes, but did they listen to the boy genius of a hero? Nope. They think their organization is perfect as it is, even though it clearly isn’t.
I see what you mean but when you expirence something similar to what garou has even if it looked innocent and childish it was ultimately what got him over the edge every person is different meaning there and many thing that can be different trigger for anyone to you that looked unfair for garou to beat heroes but for garou that looked like justice to the world and mostly to himself I defend garou ultimately bc I know what he's gone through I had it the same and when his story was about a game in which he was force to be the monster in my case I was treated like trash everyday and ultimately nobody cared that's why I left the school moved and still none really give a crap it broke my mentality so I stay with garou fully on this one and I'd never judge his actions knowing what's he gone through.
