  • The Xtreme 160R was a fun motorcycle to ride! For the 2023 Hero Motocorp has decided to amp up the game by adding in a bunch of things. Increase in performance, a 4V head, oil-cooling, sharper looks, and connectivity. Have these changes helped the Xtreme in becoming a better motorcycle?     Beautiful bike. This is gonna do brilliant fir the hero's overseas market. I place my hand on my heart and if this would've had come in my college days I would have bought this bike in an instance. GOOD JOB HERO MOTORS

    We all should appreciate Hero. Since its split from Honda, the company didn't make their bikes upto the competition but since from 2020 things have changed and the Hero is improving a lot. Hero after a decade have come along way, instead of criticizing we should appreciate them.

    I was blown away after riding the Xtreme 160R, and personally liked the Xtreme more than the Apache 160r. Hero has done a splendid job on this bike.

    I always prefer my Pulsar NS 160. I did a long distance ride last month and the saddle comfort was amazing.

    Custom Extreme 160 by hero was so freaking cool... Way better than mt 15, just search for it... It Had upside down forks, tail tidy, different body work, different handle bars and different brakes with red black color, it was sick bruh...!

    Well the new xtrem 160 r is one the best 160cc bikes. in terms of overall design it was a good looking motorcycle and now with this 4v version the design is lot more cooler and premium compared to the 2valve version. It feels more muscular and chunky Especially with these golden upsidedown forks and new colours 😘😘. Then engine performance number is also impressive as well.
    Although i think hero could have given dual channel ABS atleast as an option. For the same price their is the bajaj pulsar NS 160 with dual Chanel ABS to and that makes it a tight competition for the xtrem.

      @@VarunPainter Yes that's what I thought first but normally adding dual channel ABS option will hike the price around ₹3000-5000 more and it will eventually make the model's price to 1.4 Lakhs. Even now some people are complaining about its price tag (they kept this in their mind and made 3 varients). Another problem is now it already has 3 varients and even if they give DCABS to the top model totally there will be 4 varients. And then , they will have do more in the manafacturing process, distribution and delivery of these motorcycles. Also they don't know which varient will sell more unless they start the sales. So may be after sometime they may launch the DCABS varient considering the sales of the current varient.

    It never needed USD forks in the first place, power bump maybe but USD forks is overkill . They could have given it dual channel ABS variant because the bike is already one of the best in terms of ride and handling so USD forks was never needed.
    This is what happens when you take feedback from chappri and teenagers. You miss out on what is really needed. Now this bike is needlessly expensive even if its feature loaded. They did a Honda Hornet 2.0 with this bike 😅.

    I would prefer a full street handlebar over clip on's anyday. More rear set footpegs would make the bike more difficult to use in dense city IMHO for long durations. Maybe they could have kept the Standard variant more upright commuterish and kept the pro Variant with for rear set foot pegs, clip on's and a more track riding stance. Tbh, I can't really imagine seeing this bike on a faired avatar.

      The handle bar provides more agility. Cutting through the traffic is easier with the handle bar than clip-ons

      Clip on handlebars only adds some weights to the front. Also even if they implant a clip on it will be straight and tall which will make no difference with the riding position. This is what we see in NS and ZMR v1. Clip on handlebars are mainly for sporty riding posture (lowered and close handle reach). But Dual Channel ABS should be a thing to be considered in the future.

    Please correct.
    All three variants has bluetooth connectivity (calls, notifications etc). The connected variant provides app based features and it has SOS button. This is a variant which nobody will buy. They should have given these features to the pro variant. Eagerly waiting for POWER DRIFT'S FIRST RIDE REVIEW.

    Hero bikes have an engine stalling problem after bs6 update. I am the owner of passion pro bs6 & after visiting showroom for over 2.5 years it is not solved. I also talked to other owners of bs6 hero bikes & they claim that their bikes like glamour xtec , super splendor owners claim it's true. So stear clear of hero 😢

      My RTR 200 randomly shuts down during idealing. It's what strict emissions do to your bike. I also experienced it with the unicorn 160 bs6 also🥲

      I'd probably choose hornet.
      1. Bigger engine, slightly more power and torque.
      2. Thicker rear Tyre
      3. Engine is smooth af
      4. 142 kg, lighter than 160r pro variant.
      5. Last but not the least, the fit and finish on Honda is 🤌

    How can it be fastest to 60 if you are saying there is no low end torque? That would be contradictory to what Hero wants to achieve and market the bike.

      When you launch a motorcycle, the revs are already high. Dump the clutch and you don't have to start from zero. BTW, the fastest claim is theirs, not mine.

Slightly disappointed as I was looking forward towards their launch. I hope the finished bikes would feel different.

    This is not the "Fastest". Quickest? Maybe 🤷 but definitely not the fastest. When Xtreme 160 4V Pro compared to SmartConnect varient of RTR 160 4V the p/w ratio is not any better than Apache.
    PS: The bike is amazing none the less.

    So Hero creates a variant and charges a premium of 5k for bluetooth but doesn't think it's important to have dual channel ABS as an option, is just beyond me.

    Well done by hero. At least hero is trying to improve the product in160 not like Japanese with Xblade, Unicorn and FZ S . Must be appreciated and praised knowing that it's coming from Indian brand . And only Pulsar 160s offer dual channel ABS in this price point and segment. So can't complain on this. Good job hero.

    Reasons why it won't sell.
    1. Rear end looks extremely high unnecessarily. Hinders with accessibility too.
    2. The rear part of the split seat looks aftermarket 😂.
    3. The bike looks tiny from the front.
    4. Overall design is not that mature n impressive. The panels are here and there, some small, some large. Not in sync with the bike theme as Pulsar or Apache.
    5. Golden folks 😂😆. Bajaj has done a good job with the color selection of USD in NS series.
    6. Pricing. When you have better options like Apache or Pulsar N160, who wants this toy.
    7. Engine. Apache n Pulsar are far more refined than this.
    8. Gear box. Hero's gearbox eventually turns notchy.
    9. Headlight. This looks good but illumination is extremely poor. Apache n N160 headlights are far better.

      Since it's just launched, I really wish it garners decent numbers atleast for the next three months. Let's see the sales figures six months down the line.
      Also, let's send a request to Bajaj and TVS to not to come up with any of the updates in their bikes for the next few months so that the kid gets time to grow up 😂😆.
      Once upon a time, Hero was having legendary brands like Hunk, Karizma, and Xtreme. Now, all of these brands have vanished. This shows Hero cannot do anything in this segment. How can one let go their ruling brands get vanished.
      Hero doesn't understand the market itself. Their only ideology is cheapest products in the segment. Probably, people don't even know that such a bike existed. Tell me just one successful product developed by Hero after Hero Honda separation. Thanks to Honda for joint development of Splendor and HF Deluxe which is helping Hero survive in the market.
      Eventually, 100cc motorcycle segment is gonna witness a downfall which also means the downfall of Hero as well.
      There's so much to talk about Hero, but nothing gonna help them because they don't wanna put in their efforts wholeheartedly. Chala to thik else wapas try karenge. Keep trying in the wrong direction until you get success 😂😆.

      Hero never chose to revamp the above said brands because they knew revamping them will surely give out a perception that hero is using Hondas platform to create their brand which no brand will want who is trying to go global you need business classes here
      Hero created Xpulse which is actually a successful product...the sales number will eventually come
      Also people and this includes you are so obsessed with Pulsar Apache that you cannot simply Appreciate a brands effort...I would have appreciated you had taken a test ride before doing your expert commentary
