actually it was Honda engine, but now since hero and Honda parted, there have been some innovation problems in hero company, but hero has come far and they are working on their R n D department.
Does it even matter it is 1 or 2 sec slow in 0 to 60 or 4-5 sec slow for 0 to 100 for a 160 cc bike in real world condition. Every one expects a reliable refined engine, good looks, adequate braking capacity and good mileage from this segment which the Xtreme 160r offers really well. And if you want performance, then go for the one and only r15 v3.

The xtreme160r is a perfect bike, all it needs is a sharper tail lamp, and good tank extensions after that it'll look even more sharp and stay true to its sportyness

it's my opinion bro Apache 160 2v bs6 : Vibration , engine heating issue , low mileage compare with xtreme , no kicker , no hazard light , no led indicator .. no wide radial tyre and maintanence cost it's expensive spare parts compare with hero xtreme 160r bs6 ... And xtreme 160r no vibration above 100km speed ... But apache 160 2v is good bike racing ..
