    We were very curious to see the power our bikes were putting down so we decided to strap them on a dyno and get the answer!

    I'm surprised that the R1 didn't make more HP. Makes me even more content with my 06 FZ1. Sure it doesn't have all the rider aids and throttle settings, but that's fine. Between the performance mods, comfort mods, and suspension mods I have let then 5G tied up in the bike. Honestly as the bike is, it well out performs my abilities.

      09-14 R1 usually puts down 145-150 whp. US version of the R1 was restricted compared to Europe and Japan.

      the r1 owner should be ashamed at the adjustment of his chain, also clearly has garbage tires

      I agree! Very impressive numbers for something as old and affordable as they are.

      My 09 made the same power with all the bells and whistles. Very pleased with how responsive it is low range

    I've got a 2009 FZ1 that I need to get dyno to see how much power it has. It is fully uncorked and has a power commander.

    Not bad for the old FZ1S. I had a 2010 FZ1S as well. Loving it very much.

    I have a 2014 r1 and always thought (because i read) it put out around 180hp, is that to the crank? or were US versions limited?

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      US version is limited. Usually 09-14 R1 puts down 145 -150 whp in stock form.

      Focused Garage Is it possible to safely release the restriction? I’m trying to put the engine in a race buggy and would like to push as much as possible without jeopardizing the reliability. Thanks for the reply!

      There are bunch of tuners out there tuning these bikes.

    Aren't you supposed to Dyno test in 6th to try and remove gear ratio discrepancies

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You want to run the test in whatever gear is closest to your bike's 1:1 ratio.

    08 fz1. First bike. Iv had it 3 yrs now. Still way over my capabilities. Stupid fast. 85 in first gear for real 0 to 60 in 2.9seconds. Gray on gold wheels. Graves exhaust. Power comander. 😳 👀 👏

  • @fenderfan8543
    @fenderfan8543 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Pretty much what I was expecting. I have a 2010 fz1 with a flash tuned ecu, full stainless exhaust, modded airbox and a sprint filter. It will put down 147 to the rear wheel. Thats enough for me!

      We were told by the owner of the shop that this dyno is a heartbreaker and traditionally reads lower than everywhere else.

    I thought the fz1 would be a lot less than the r1.

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one isn't entirely stock. If it was stock it could possibly make 10 to 20 less whp.

    • @lentilsouper
      @lentilsouper 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FocusedGarage stock is 150 at the crank, a few bolt ons wouldn't give it 20bhp

      My own experience is (i own fz1n with 151,7 hp, friend has r1 also dyno tuned at the same shop as mine) mine is and feels faster on the roads there is quite some more usable torque down low. and since the public roads arent racetracks and the r1's maximum power potential is never used you will hurt the r1 owners feelings on the road with your fizzy... unless you go to the higher speeds where the r1 is king.

    My 2008 FZ1 would do 90+ mph in 1st gear. It was a fabulous bike, extremely underrated.

      Yea I tripped out on that.
      By the time I looked down at the speedo after shifting to second ,I was already at 105.
      So 90 sounds about right

  • @GigaNeisser

    Well, the only problem is, that that exhaust on the FZ1 is killing the power of the bike. Mine has an Akrapovic Full Titanium Exhaust System on it.. Mine runs 148,7 hp on the dyno. Its all about the exhaust.
    But nevertheless, the FZ1 has the best sound of all three.

    • @FocusedGarage
      @FocusedGarage  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's possible the exhaust might be choking the power. However this dyno also reads very low.
