I got this figure at June 3rd and Unboxed it, it did not disappoint (before said disappointed which I misspelled consider this auto-correct system on the phone is annoying sometimes) me at all. I quickly loved this figure so much. And as I looked closely at the eyes and teeth: they were very good. So I got lucky with mine.
Thought I was going to be okay to just settle on the NECA Godzilla 2019 this time and skip the monsterarts, yeaaaaaah, nope. I'm sold on this guy. Awesome review Steven! Loving those shore photos at the end.

My tail broke. Immediately returned for a replacement. Almost every joint was completely frozen in the tail. That being said, still loved the figure and I can't wait to get my hands on another.
@@qqqfuzion2582 SHMA is more perfection. NECA's sculpt is just a remold of the 2014 figure, and it's kinda lazy and not accurate. NECA ruined all the hype with the paint on the eyes and stuff that really is missed out. SHMA got their heads on decided to make their figure being better than 2014.

This is a really good sh monster arts figure I have been looking at Godzilla toys or figures and this is the best one I found and also the best video(review)for this figure I found and this review really helped me choose what figure to buy and why not buy the Godzilla 2019 sh monster arts figure it has great painting and great sculpting and a beam and it can move very well and It is just one of the best Godzilla figures in the world and sh monster arts did a great job on this figure and you also did a good job on this review great job!
I know I am 80 years late to the party, but I noticed that for the tail specifically, if you hit it with some heat and twist the tail at each individual segments, you can get a bit more range out of it. Best I got is a true “U” shape where the tip is parallel to the base of the tail. The fact that this tail holds most poses despite having more limited range than the 2014 is a trade I’ll take any day of the week. Articulation range is meaningless without enough friction to hold poses.
So the beam is indeed a reused piece! No wonder it has a hole underneath despite no stand included. I was repeatedly searching the box to make sure i didn't throw away a stand by mistake.
Comparing price to quality of sculpt NECA is becoming a serious contender when it come to MA vs N Godzilla series. As for the joints at the base of the tail on this figure it's a joke. I'd sooner have fewer joints rather than gaping holes.
I'm getting him on July 1st (the release date on GameStop since I Pre Ordered it). Bandai nailed it more than NECA IMO. I really can't wait to get my hands on this guy. And not to mention that King Ghidorah figure that's coming next (August in GameStop).
If i can make a suggestion steven, you need to adjust the brightness or contrast when filming fogures that are dark as godzilla, some of your reviews make it hard to see the detail when the figure isnt a brightly colored dbz character. But great video!
I'm kinda mixed. On the one hand, yes, this figure does look awesome. On the other hand, something about the proportions is off, he's too slim. He's head is too small too. Also he is too gray. He could have used just a bit more paint.
@@Go_Away-e8v brother, it's far from being 100% accurate. The head is too small. In the movie, it wasn't this small, not even close. Even for the figure, the neck is unnaturally thick compared to it. No, I don't want reds or greens, but some washes or dry brushings in a slightly different shade of gray or brown to further accent the sculpted detail would've been welcomed. Sorry for having an opinion

He's also slim and I compared it with actual CGI model shots in front view. NECA nailed the proportions but their dorsal plates a tad larger but that's fine. They got the head right too except for the paint ofcourse on the eyes
I preordered mine on BBTS months ago. They still have him listed as a preorder which is strange. It’s starting to drive me nuts that everyone else is getting him already!
The effect part shouldn't be too big a problem. The part would probably add about 20 USD to the price. Bandai could easily make it out of thin plastic like the kind you see in plastic Easter Eggs. It'd be half dome cut into quarters with whatever embellishments were necessary to make it cool. The sticking point could be the box. Depending on what they choose to do it could get fairly cost ineffective to produce the box. Guess we'll see. Also I'm surprised you didn't mention how heavy the tail is and how it limits poseability Steven.
Steven What support stand would fit into this Godzilla's Atomic blast? I see a small hole under mine to fit a stand but don't know what one to purchase. Ive watched your guide on support stands but I couldn't really see one that worked. Thanks!
This is my firsr SH Monsterarts figure. I always liked them and i came across it cheaper than anywhere else so i picked it up. I cant get him to pose looking straight up without his head popping off annd the very first part of his tail, the base that meets his body, got very loose on mine and can move up and down.
I'm not a collector, but I love the figure and purchased it. Is there a display case that I can purchase anywhere just for this specific figure? Thanks
Oh u can definitely fix his derp eye on the side of his face no problem. Just take some golden yellow paint and paint over it wait for it to dry and then place the new pupil on it and make sure both eyes are asymetrical. And boom u are done.
I just got mine in the mail today...has the derpiest eyes ever. One eye is looking straight up, its almost rolled back...kinda disappointed with my result
