I heard he uses Contrast on everything and claims it’s a really versatile tool.
@@Warhipster Heathen! Burn him at the stake.. and make the stake out of Citadel paintbrushes because they are useless for anything else. My dads, uncles, brothers, nephews, aunties, sisters, brother in law told me real men paint with real paint! Also contrast is cheating! Its a lighting trick! You must have mad skills to do that with contrast ;)
The only brushes that actually work are the Binglefart 9000 series, anything else is a lie!

@@Warhipster amazing work as always! Awesome and inspiring to see what you create with those contrast paints and how you manage to create almost the same or even better results and effects, than other good painters with normal layering technique.
I also use the contrast paints and i realy enjoy painting with them and your tips with combining different colors together for armours and stuff helped me a lot to improve my painting with them. I got borred of the "classic" painting style, so I like to combine contrast paints with drybrushing etc. to get similar results.
Did you realy paint the whole model in less than 1,5h, because I don´t see any cut in the video?

@@Warhipster i finished some Untamed Beasts today, all with contrast paint and a little bit of drybrushing. I think I´m happy with the final result so far. Gonna make some good pics of them on Instagram later. ;)

Awesome video! But 8:1 Contrast Medium:Black Templar, isn't that just Nuln Oil? lol
Thanks! They're similar, but not quite - with Black Templar being a Contrast paint it's got a variety of different sizes of pigment in it, which is what allows Contrast to do its thing. You could use Nuln Oil, though you'd get a different result - slightly flatter.
Can guilliman flesh exchange fyreslayers flesh for shading the gold?
Absolutely! You’ll get a different tone to it, but it’ll very much work. I’d maybe try a test model first to see if you like it.
Thank you so much! I managed to paint Kragnos with this video, and I'm happy with the result. I only used to much Contrast on the rock and now it look "shiny". Any idea how to remove that effect?
You could use a Matt Varnish, for example from Vallejo, that’ll solve the shine :)
How are you making the mixes? Are you just taking brush fulls and placing it on a pallet? are you pouring from the pot on to a pallet? I always run out of my mix and then have a hard time getting the same mix a second time.
I just use brushfuls, in this case it'll likely be a Citadel Medium Layer brush.

Hi I tried this and I'm having issues. I'm getting the blotchy effect you warned about. I did try your technique but it's still happening. If I thin it down more to avoid this it's much lighter than yours. If I use your formula it blotches. I'm not getting how you're getting it to look like that in one coat. The cygor
It would be great if you could make a video on putting some of these printed minis together. I"m having a lot of problems with the connecting spurs and taking longer cutting and sanding to make them work than I am painting! I don't print my own, I buy them.😭
