@@kayunrtd3514 Definitely the top 2. Svidler's generally more known for being a theoretician than MVL is though, and developed the opening far more (mostly because he started playing earlier).
From reviewing engine evaluations on certain pawn pushes I knew that pushing the d pawn in the pause the video moment was wrong, but couldn't explain why. The explanation why is very helpful thank you!
I found Rc5, but it was way deeper than I realized at first haha. I've been trying more and more to challenge the fianchetto'd bishops with a bishop queen battery on the next diagonal, and it's been working wonders, way better than trying to oppose it with a bishop on the same diagonal or to try and block the center. Cool to see the same idea at play here
Hello Jerry, I've been following your channel for quite some time now and I must say, your analysis videos are top-notch. However, I can't help but miss your earlier gameplay videos. From bullet, over blitz and rapid to three check. I understand, that your focus has shifted towards analysis, and I greatly appreciate the insight you provide in those videos. Nevertheless, I would like to see more of your own gameplay. Your unique style and commentary are always a pleasure to watch. Your passion for chess is truly inspiring, and i have the utmost respect for your dedication to the game. Thank you for all the great content you create!
From the weed whacker, to not breathing in the last ten seconds, to getting nona fried and showing ferrari who the fast one is - Jerry was a ton of fun :)
I found the Rc5 move almost right away, along with vague ideas of its then moving over laterally to the kingside and the mutual pins of the Queens along the 6th rank. Didn’t do any specific calculations within that constellation, however.
Hey Jerry, thanks so much for your content. Can you do more Bobby Fischer games? Perhaps from the books "My 60 Greatest Games" or "Bobby Fischer Rediscovered." That would be awesome.
Some important context here: Peter Svidler is known as pretty much *the* Grunfeld expert, and probably the best to ever play it.
And MVL?
kasparov also use it in wcc againist karpov

Defeating Svidler’s Grunfeld is quite an achievement. Peter would be upset.

I was just looking at a Loek van Wely Grunfeld game! It's a shame that his politics suck!
