It may not be what she wanted but it was something she chose knowing of the potential consequences. You don't have children if you're not willing to support them for whenever support is needed (unless of course the child turns out to be an asshole). I for one choose to not be birthed just to be a temporary pet. It may not be an opinion many people have or understand, but giving life to something is more of a selfish burden than a gift, especially in these times, unless that life is brought into a situation where it can thrive. It may seem like silly rationale, but if the world was going to end you would still find people choosing to have children despite the inevitable demise.
