- Goodlands Mauritius is a medium size village, that you probably won’t find on any tourist maps. It really is a Mauritian village for Mauritians. But, totally worth a visit.
In Mauritius they give all their villages names, like Goodlands being the village of discipline or Pereybere is respect. Goodlands is still my favourite as I can imagine some interesting things.
This was a quick visit to find a blanket, but I hope to bring you more of Goodlands and the rest of the island.

We have become so acclimatized here that below 24C (75F) it's jacket time and freezing and above 28C (82F) it too hot, call off all activities and hit the beach.
What brought you to Mauritius? I miss it so much, thanks for showing the world all our delicious street foods and different cultures!

@@BryanDiscoversWorld I grew up close to the Trou aux Cerfs crater, there's lots of great street food too if you ever go to Curepipe and in that area. Also the beautiful Grand Bassin temple. Hope you can slowly make your way south and explore it all.
@@wywk I am making my way South, Everyone is so nice, they are inviting me all over the place. I really want to see the crater, I wish I had more time to explore. Soon, hopefully. I am working on a dodo project that is taking up so much time, but should be finished this week and I can get back to exploring.

Haha, Goodlands is anything but disciplined. There's a high chance of a road accident happening there if you're unfamiliar with driving in Goodlands.
Too true, in my other video I almost get run over by a bus, twice.

I live 15mins away from Goodlands and have adapted to driving there but it’s always a stressful experience. As for my wife it’s a place that’s off limits as she doesn’t want to risk getting into an accident.
It’s ironic they call it the village of discipline. Perhaps they fished the word out of a hat at a council meeting whilst downing beers?
@@BryanDiscoversWorld the main reason I go there is for the dholl puris - same seller as in your video. The owner is Eshan, though his son usually takes over for the lunchtime shift.
