@Christopher Bingham they both are lmfao. Calling one not vs the other just shows you know nothing. The Offspring are genuinely the worst band to ever come out and be lumped into punk. At least Green Day made a couple good songs back in the day. Can't say that for Offspring.

@@davebanfield6251 It's a shame that 90 percent of the people who bought Throwing Copper have probably never heard a single song off their best album (in our opinion, anyway). Mental Jewelry is superb, from start to finish. The Beauty of Gray is my favorite song of all-time. I saw Ed and the boys play a tiny club in Baltimore named Max's on Broadway in the spring of 1992. Definitely my most memorable concert experience ever. I was blown away by the depth/spirit/maturity of a bunch of 21 year-olds from small-town PA. I was in my late 20's at the time. I remember reading in a zine that some people were speculating that Ed's dad had written the lyrics to many of the songs, because of their maturity...and because he was their manager at the time, and traveled with the band. I'm sure that didn't last long. I didn't really follow their career much after that, other than hearing them on the radio and thinking how fortunate I was to see them in an unadulterated state. Lightning Crashes was brilliant--and the type of song I expected from them--but I didn't see that hard left-turn coming. And now I learn it was from all the fun and sun in Jamaica!

I got to see them a couple of times and their gigs in Paradiso Amsterdam 2008 (recorded for a live dvd as well) and Ahoy Rotterdam 2001 were fantastic and still are 2 my favourite concerts ever. The concert in Rotterdam was just a couple of weeks after 9/11 and I will never ever forget the ambiance, the music with a whole new meaning...very special. Their story is like your basic premise for a typical rock band movie; humble beginnings, surprising breakthrough, disillusioned success, record label sets them up for _the_ fight → the breakup → the reconciliation, the highly anticipated (but not as popular as once were) reunion on their early 40s and the comfortably average live gig in front of 100 people as the camera fades to credits. All jokes aside, nice story, I dig some of their stuff

Live’s ‘Throwing Copper’ show was one of the best I’ve ever been privileged to see! I love their music and would love them to come back!❤

I hated these guys in the 90’s but they grew on me over the years like a lot of bands from that time.

I hated a lot of these “post grunge” bands

They fell into a sub genre I liked to call “bore core”.

Throwing Copper and REM’s Green made up the bulk of used cds in their respective alphabet order at the record stores at the end of the 90s.

Throw in Spin Doctors "Pocket Full of Kryptonite", Alanis Morrisette "Jagged Little Pill" and Ace of Base into the overpiled used CD bin :)

You sure you're not thinking of R.E.M.s Monster? Rarely saw Green in used bins...always saw several copies of Monster.

Didn’t most CDs? Being they started become irrelevant around 2000? I don’t think I’ve even bought a cd once since the internet became available.

Almost 30 years later, I can still listen to Throwing Copper from start to finish and still enjoy it the same way. Incredible album that never gets old.

The band LIVE is such an amazing group. When they arrived in the 90s they just blew up with the most amazing sound, topping it with their unplugged. Still to this day, I put on their albums time and again.

I don't love all Live's music but you can't deny that their hits were absolute banger songs
