From the VIN on dash, it’s a Road Runner but the engine code was P which makes it a 400 HP car. Yep, the last couple of years you got a 318 as standard engine, so this is on the rare side because most RR were small blocks in 73/74. They repop the console. Looks like it was a gold interior car originally. A lot of the car was there. Original paint color is JY9 Tahitian Gold Poly. Has air, auto, console, AM/FM radio and was scheduled to be built on 8-20-73. This one would be worth a restoration imo.
Whoa Nelley, 1974 and soon to be out the door. Rare, rare, rare, rare, rare. There were 9,646 Road Runner models made for the 1974 model year. Correct, "RM21" denotes a Road Runner and the theory was that the Road Runner was a budget muscle car, so it makes sense that the windows don't roll down in the back. If figures are to be believed, there were only 830 of them made with the 400 CID V8 and the automatic transmission for the 1974 model year. The Road Runner was offered from 1968 to 1980 on various models over the years, and Chrysler paid Warner Brothers for the rights to use the Road Runner bird and character. They also have a unique horn winding to make the "Beep Beep" sound like the Road Runner character did in the cartoons. So, taking it from the top: I'd pay you to ship out those Craftsman tools, sockets and rails to me if you go back and they are still there and assuming that they are USA made. We got the VIN, we win: R for Satellite/Sebring, M for Medium price class, 21 for two door coupe, P for 400 CID V8 with four barrel, high performance, aka "King of Malaise", 4 for 1974 model year, G for St. Louis, MO assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The St. Louis MO plant was in Fenton and operated from 1959 to 2009. This one was assembled on Tuesday September 11, 1973, at the 12th hour. We got the tag, we can brag: V8W for White transverse stripes, V9W for White rear decklid stripe, 28 for 28" radiator, END for end of sales codes, M21 for roof drip moldings, M26 for wheel lip moldings, N41 for dual exhaust without tips, N42 for chrome exhaust tips, R35 for AM/FM multiplex stereo radio, all of the "G" codes refer to mirror and glass, H51 for single air conditioner and heater, J52 for inside hood release, J54 for hood insulator panel, JY9 for Tahitian Gold exterior paint, U for USA specification vehicle, A88 for interior decor group, B41 for front disc brakes, C16 for console and buckets, C56 for bucket seats, D6Y3 for Gold interior trim, D68 for 400 CID V8 with four barrel, high performance, and D34 for Torqueflite automatic transmission. Whoa Nelley, MOPAR not going very far. "B" body looks very shoddy. Painted Gold and turned to mold. 400 and gotta go. Torqueflite will soon be out of sight. That's it, time to quit. Beep Beep and it wasn't cheap. Paint code JY9 is out of time. Send me the tools, don't be a fool. (LOL). VIN code "P" and it's over for thee. Going to be flat and that's that. Made in MO and gotta go. Please don't get squished because even though the carburetion and ignition were heaps, it's rare and many here including slightly so for the Google Man, we'll all be very, very, very, very pissed.
I had a friend who had a 74 Roadrunner black exterior, black interior, 3 speed in the floor 318 engine. It was like new, and he traded it in on an 83 Mazda RX 7. Before I met him, he told me he traded in a 70 W 30 442 455 4 speed car for the Roadrunner . He showed me pictures of the 442, and it was a beautiful vehicle.
Probably for the rarity and the options it should have been saved. I would love to know the backstory as with others as to how it got here. Perhaps the owner became incarcerated, got into debt, or unfortunately passed away and the family just decided to be rid of the vehicle. That happens fairly often I would gather when people don't know what to do with it when a loved one passes away.
Oh that's a damn shame! Someone just completely disrespected this old Mopar - tore it apart and trashed it. According to Googleuser's translation of the tag, this would have been a very nice Roadrunner. Now it's guts are just scattered in the mud and it's just waiting to be crushed. UGH!!
Hopefully a ship that has the ability to bring that car back takes the shell before it gets crushed. Road Runners in 1974 were rare compared to earlier years and it should be saved.
🏁 That's too bad that car definitely could have been restored a perfect rotisserie candidate!! Looks like the person that was trying to restore this roadrunner had either passed away or something happened to this person . the family just got rid of the vehicle!! Benny as always thank you for that video!! 🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁😎🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Man u found gold on that car lucky u! Big Block heads looked like 906 casting I seen. U should off left those brakes on the rear end probably 11 inch drums
What a waste it has a lot of potential. I still have my 74 Charger I got my senior year in high school back in 86. Would love to have that rear for it but I'm a little ways from Texas in the Eastern Panhandle of WV. Always look forward to your videos keep bringing them 👍
Crazy they junked that project! Here in NY, as long as it had a title (since its 73 & newer) with that clean of a body, especially being a Mopar, with an 8 3/4, and B body big block K member, I'd guess it would sell for $3 to 4K. Mopar guys pay I've learned, in ANY condition, unless it's a C body LOL. Even a Chevy in that shape is a harder sell (of course unless its a Chevelle, Camaro, or pre 73 Nova) and a Ford project (at least up here, excluding trucks) is a even harder sell. Shame shame!
I agree with the comment that alot has been reproduced but they never fit right and there only original parts once. I would have bought it all if the price was fair. To many people looking for original stuff. That short short glimpse of a camaro in the back ground looked good too. Someone please save these for future hot rodders, even if it's just for parts so others may live on.
I had a 73 years ago. Car isn't valuable enough to restore it. However, any original parts from it would bring money, particularly the power bulge hood if it is savable.
I had two Roadrunner's ,one was a 69 383 4 speed and a 72 400 automatic. I think the 73 Satellite l owned had the same type steering wheel, but that was 40 years ago, my memory is faulty 🫠
Ok why is this thing in the yard if the floor and everything on the body is good I'm sure it's saveable why did they scrap it..nicks garage would have this thing looking brand new in half a year I'm not a Dog man but I liked the roadrunner that's a total shame someone by rights should save this and put humpty Dumpty back together again before it gits smooshed..

@@garymckee63Sounds like he has had some nice cars.
Damn shame that car was totally fine to get going WTH !

You found some good stuff lucky you! 💯
Oh that's a damn shame! Someone just completely disrespected this old Mopar - tore it apart and trashed it. According to Googleuser's translation of the tag, this would have been a very nice Roadrunner. Now it's guts are just scattered in the mud and it's just waiting to be crushed. UGH!!
yep is shame!
Great score! 74 400 Road Runner. Those hoods are getting scarce too.
Hopefully a ship that has the ability to bring that car back takes the shell before it gets crushed. Road Runners in 1974 were rare compared to earlier years and it should be saved.
Wow that's cool as hell yeah man 😎😎❤
This was probably some old guys project that passed and the kids these days have zero interest in old cars. 😢😢😢
Will there be a will it run soon on the 1974 Plymouth Roadrunner?

Someone's restoration project. What a shame...

There's one up for sale locally by me, it's also a 1974 Road Runner with a 400 and it has a steering wheel similar to the one that's shown.
You can make money off that hood doors fenders if the car is going to the crusher 🇺🇲
where is this car at ?
$500
Dan the floor pan man that car does not belong in there what a shame this one hurt to look at.
Solid car doesn’t belong there!
My brother add one in the late 80s here's what silver with a red stripe by the back window do the headlights
Pains me to see. I always liked that body style.
better get them front rims
Poor car....😢
Man that’s a shame :-(
Take the 70’ camaro
I don’t think that is a real Roadrunner because i don’t think they came in that brown color. Have to check numbers on body panels to be sure.
beep beep
K frame
You also make money off of the camaro parts 🇺🇲
Fifty years of fetishizing. Move on.
It’s worth saving not parts
