Clever Demo, clearly illustrates the Mag actuator movement. Nice.

Hi Ian, I hadn't seen this type of brake switch used, when I checked it for a fault I had to figure out how it worked first. So I thought I would share it incase it was new to someone else. Thanks for watching.

Hey great informative video. Been looking for this exact thing. Question, my brake lights stay on when car is turned on. Even when I unplug the brake light switch. Would it be possible it’s a bad switch even if lights stay on after unplugging it. I can run a strong magnet across it when plugged up and it’s cuts the light on and off.

Hi, sorry to drag up an old video. My passat has this style brake switch, i get a constant fault for the brake switch (F). Brake lights work, tried 3 switches, i have power but my plug only has 3 pins populated and my cruise control wont work for this fault.
    Any ideas?

Hi Seba, this brake switch has two signal wires, when the brake pedal is depressed, one signal switches from 12volts to 0volt whilst the other signal switches from 0volts to 12volts at the same time.
The two multimeter's was just to show them changing at the same time.
Thanks for watching, have a nice day. Matt

Hi Mohammed was the switch the same as this one (on the master cylinder) rather than at the brake pedal, if so and you have already changed the switch, have you checked the wires for power and ground and checked that the switch's out put signals change when the pedal is pressed. It could be a brake in one of the wires. I did another video on this car showing where the break in this cars wire was, it ended up damaging a new switch that had already been fitted to this car before I looked at it.
