I'm trying to work out how to reply without being rude. You certainly do sound like a very spoilt kid!
Hills: people of 80 can manage our hills, so you at your age should find them a doddle!
Air con: we don't need it in our homes but if you're so desperate get it installed!
Beaches: we have some if the most glorious, sandy beaches in the world. You can't judge the country by your local beach. Get out and travel round the country to find them.
Butter: well we think it odd that Americans don't put butter on butties! The answer is simple, make your own or choose something else!
Weather: at least it's interesting.
Driving: the more nervous you are, the worse it is. The more you drive, the better it'll get. And it'll be worth you doing it so you won't have to worry about wearing out those old bones of yours!
And you think Brits complain...
she cant do the Hills because she needs to lose some weight
People who are 80 have probably lived her longer than a year...
@christinepalmer935 Appreciate you telling me that...I had no idea until you mentioned it!
@TheHicksonDiaries I'm sure you'll get used to it in time. Don't give up. What I've noticed is that you look healthier in this video than your older ones. The fresh air and hills must be doing you good!
OMG. Thanks. That’s so nice of you to say. I’m working on the weight thing and feel better for it. Which is why I still walk these hills even though it feels like torture
You hate the British for complaining then as an American you come on here complaining!
Irony…what are gonna do?!
The USA is the home of the Karen too.
True
As Voltaire once said. "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it".
No offence but Americans complain about everything as well!! Only difference is we don't call the police for everything!!
And we do something about it unlike the US who just belive the shit there sold.
If we do they rarely turn up so perhaps that's why. At least they seem to turn up when you call them in the US
@@windymiller6908 UK police is no friend of the English, bunch of woke dicks
@@windymiller6908 they turn up to either arrest you or shoot you...this is not really the outcome in UK, too much paperwork.
I disagree.. but appreciate your opinion and commet.
The British do like a whinge, but mostly about the small things. When it really hits the fan, that's when our stoic qualities come to the surface :)
Totally agree with this statement
You're not whinging about UK hills, and beaches, are you ?
Yes, I believe that is what I said in the video
@@TheHicksonDiaries I think you were inviting a civil dialogue about what YOU found difficult as part of the process of living in a different but similar culture. I really value hearing your feelings. It takes a lot to share videos of your thoughts and I appreciate that. Don’t let this crap put you off, everyone on YT gets this nonsense it seems. Ignore it and carry on doing what you think is interesting. Don’t be put off. I imagine most of the commenters aren’t followers. X
uk has a lot of sand beaches what are you talking about
i'm talking about my personal POV after living here a year...
sorry if us brits come over has nasty we don't mean nothing by it its how we are
Some more than others but it’s ok. Thx for your input though.
Who's Whinging now .about walking up a few hills .
oh come on it must be hard when you are so fat
Guess I'm becoming more British by the day
Oh, the irony of an American complaining about British people complaining 🙄 I'm offended quick call 911😂
999😀😃😄
@annfrancoole34. Haha-lol. 😝
Should call this video...
How to instantly dislike someone you've never met.
My husband is Canadian living in England and even he said this is a really bad video to make and very insulting to us English people.
Pissed me right off.
Can’t please everyone. Thx for the comment
It’s just her pov which she’s allowed to have. I wasn’t insulted at all. But I knew it would definitely rub some people up the wrong way x
Thx @MrsLynB. I would be lying if I only did videos about the things I like here.
@@MrsLynB My point of view is that she's a stupid Karen.
This VLOG was not your best idea.
Hi and you said Brits winge .
Yeah--I was WAY OFF on that one...
Smells of SJW.😅
Claiming that the UK has no sandy beaches is an utterly absurd statement. As for complaining about struggling to walk up some small hills, perhaps it's time to take a long look in the mirror and reconsider your diet. The fear of driving in the UK is significant because, unlike in America, people in the UK are formally taught how to drive, a practice that is not as common in America.
Please don't get me started on American food; there's a reason it's banned in almost all other countries. The American government appears to deem it acceptable to include chemicals in food and beverages that are considered unfit for human consumption.
With all that said, I believe a one-way ticket to America is quite affordable. It's likely from Terminal 2 at Heathrow Airport, so off you go.
I find it interesting that you are so quick to kick someone out of the country for expressing their struggles acclimating to anew living environment. Maybe u should try it
@@TheHicksonDiaries 'Acclimating' isn't a word. Not in real English anyway.
Good one!
You know where the door is, nobody is keeping you here.
I think I’ll stay….seeing y’all squirm is kinda fun
@@TheHicksonDiaries You liked your own comment, how hilarious.
I find it truly bizarre that Americans don't butter their sandwiches.
Why butter and a sauce is the question?
Also butter has been used on bread since the 1400s all over Europe , we are not the odd ones 😅
And it’s so much more healthy than American food
Butter is just not my cup of tea….and. I haven’t lived anywhere else in Europe so I’m reluctant to comment on things I haven’t personally experienced
Ridiculous yanks eat a sandwich on dry bread
Do not let the door hit your Rs on the way out.
I think I’ll stay. But appreciate your comment
You live in Kent? And think all the beaches are pebble. Have you never visited the sandy beaches at. Folkestone, Westgate On Sea, Broadstairs, Kingsgate, Ramsgate or Margate.
Not yet. But hope to! 🤞
I just watched this video while eating 4 slices of buttered toast 😂
🤣
Fantastic. I love butter. On crumpets, toast ,tatties, with Vegemite, pancakes, with more butter. 😊
@@aljocammo765 haha yes!!
Ugh Vegemite is worse than Marmite...
If the English moan too much, then I definitely think you’ve found your people 😬
If u saw any other videos of mine, you’d see how I actually don’t moan very much but thx for the comment
For a sandy beach go to Camber Sands that are not far from you. And when you are there visit Rye you will enjoy it. But not the hill 😂
I have found Cambra…but it’s the only sandy beach I have found so far…and I expect hills whereverI go now. 🤪
Saw another video where an American man was complaining that in London that he had to walk a block or so to the bus stop and also that he could not get ranch dressing for his salad.
Yanks don't like walking anywhere. They drive everywhere.
I love being able to walk here. We drive bc we typically don’t have any other way to get anywhere. But that guy in London is ridiculous…I’d call him out
And ranch dressing is gross btw
No Butter?!!
You're just weird darling.
I’ve been called worse
Complaining about the weather - just as well she is not living in Oklahoma or Nebraska with all the destruction from the tornadoes. At least those people have some genuine reasons to complain.
So bc I didn’t survive a tornado in recent history I can’t have a POV about living in another country?
Move to Florida warm weather, warm water, have your air conditioning on all the time, flat landscapes - you'll be sorted.
But I’d have nothing to read since they’ve burned most of their books
@@TheHicksonDiariesno they haven't.
You need to visit more beaches, loads of sandy beaches. I goes with tides, they either have sand, stone or shells on, you’ve obviously only visited stoney ones.
Yes. But hopefully this I’ll be able to venture out further
I'm South African now living in UK (in the South)...most of what you are talking about is bull...I'm 70 years old and find that you the actual winger 😂
Love South Africa 🇿🇦 x
Guess I’ll fit right in then. Thx for the comment
You're not forced to stay here
Thank you
The UK has an absolute ton of gorgeous sandy beaches.
I've not used butter on any sandwich for almost 30 years.
Even your replies to the comments are snarky.
Thx for the engagement
She is snarky mate because her American arrogance is showing where she puts herself on a pedestal above everyone else and assumes she is always right. I had subscribed……I’ve now unsubscribed as I don’t want to hear a visitor whinge about petty things especially when some of her comments are due to her lack of fitness! Not surprised since 43% are chronically obese that she struggles with hills unfortunately we can’t change our beautiful landscape! Get over it ! As for brits whining that hypocritical since yanks moan about everything! What she doesn’t realise is the British weather changes so much we have always got something to talk about , so moaning about the weather is often used as a conversation starter which often develops into a warm friendly chat about other things. She shouldn’t hate on things she doesn’t understand!
Hills! You nee dto get fitter, you arent old. Just becuase everyone drives even small distances in the US!
There are plenty of sandy beaches - just do some research!
Air Con - you do realise you can buy AC units? Or even rent them for those hot periods.
"I'm not asking for special treatment" - but I am.
"The winters here are brutal" - really? New York State gets much more brutal weather!
Completely missed the plot bro.
And for the dark winters, remember that the UK is on the same latitude as Canada!!!!!!
I’m not Canadian
She's complaining about the complaining. The hills are too hilly and the pebbles too pebbly. Go home love.
Nah. I’m good. But thx for the comment
The UK weather isn't perfect Hence why we complain about it all the time lol
lol…truth
Not to be rude dear if you don't like it here why stay?, I lived in the US for 5 years it has many great qualities but give me the UK..
It’s interesting how my not liking a few things means I’m not welcome.
You sure you’re in the UK ??🇬🇧
Yes. I am reminded daily that I am in the UK
I can assure you that most of our beaches are not pebbles; it is unfortunate that you are living in the corner of England where most of the pebbly beaches are. Now, freezing cold sea water, I agree with you 100% there! 59 years ago I spent a year in the Maldives and I haven’t swum in the sea here since.
You should try the beaches in Cornwall (south west England), we have over 300 of them and most are sandy.
@wayner1786 I have Cornwall on my list...
@@TheHicksonDiaries I guarantee you won't be disappointed. But then I am biased as I live in Cornwall 🏄🌊🏖️🌞
lol.😜. I’ve heard it from several people
Cornwall has lovely Beaches
I've heard but haven't had a pleasure yet
Having air conditioning in your home in the UK is odd but you can still have it installed, if you want it. I think with your comment about British people complaining it is also partly because we enjoy complaining sometimes lol. I think hills are great I live in Middlesex and enjoy walking to Hertfordshire which from where I am is all up hill, it is a great challenge and if it were flat it would be too easy, when I go for a walk I love the exercise. With the dark winters I love it, I find it very relaxing. I think though it all depends a lot on what you have grown up with and so you are naturally going to enjoy those things you most loved about your own country. I personally would not enjoy living in the USA, the idea of not being able to walk as much, police that seem happy to shoot to kill regardless as to whether a situation requires lethal action or not, would make me feel very nervous, even though I have never been arrested or dealt with by the police for any matter and actually worked for the police, but mostly in is not the UK and I love my country. I think when you move to a new country you have to embrace it, learn the language, take it the culture, mix with local people and again embrace it.
I agree with your statements about the US hence why I am here. You can embrace another culture without having to LOVE everything about it tho.
@@TheHicksonDiaries Beaches and weather are not "culture." What aspects of British culture do you hate? I'm sure that after living there for over a year, you must have vast experience of the culture.
I can hardly believe you have encountered so much aggro about wanting butterless sandwiches. I have lived in the UK all my life and don't like butter or spread on sandwiches, and I have never encountered any problems because of it. You only need to ask, in a Subway/pub/cafe or wherever, and they are happy to oblige.
People have different experiences
NO AC, we prefer to open a Window, and as there are no Mosquitoes in the UK its perfectly safe to sleep with the Windows OPEN.
No mosquitoes? Where do you live?
@@timweather3847 Essex at the moment, but I have lived in other countries in the past and spend enough time in the USA to know they can be a problem.
But the flies. Idk why but the flies in summer here make me crazy
As a counterpoint to the dark winters, wait till Summer - light till at least 9pm (even later in mid-summer). Should hopefully make up for the gloom you've experienced so far
Fingers crossed 🤞
Good grief you aren't old.No most ourbeaches are not peb bles, I grew up by the sea, andd holidayed by the sea, and didn't see a pebble beach til I was over 20, it depends on the area of the country
As I'm learning...
I think the problem with this is, you have very little experience of the UK, and haven’t seen a lot of it either. You have given your opinion on the UK based on your little area where you live. That’s like me going to the Everglades and saying “the whole of America is a swamp”.
If you are trying to win subscribers and learn a bit more about the UK, why not try doing a bit of a question and answer video, saying “hey I’ve been to this beach and it’s really stoney, are they all like that, or where are the sandy ones”. People will be much more friendly and want to help with ideas etc. They can recommend screens from eBay to put on your windows etc too. I think a negative video will always attract negative views. Hope this helps.
Appreciate your POV. Thank you
Too many hills? Go look at south Lincolnshire or East Anglia, flat as a pancake.
I’ll try them..haven’t had a chance yet
I had to switch off because the irony is actually killing me.
It can be annoying-I agree
Irony can be a bitch
I live in Queensland, Australia, just north of Brisbane. I grew up in Wales and Cornwall, and the beaches there are just as good there. Water isn't quite as warm, but most people find the water too cold around here for much of the year, too.
I’ll definitely check it out
So America doesn't have hills? Its not holland, just go to a sandy beach instead of a stony one and buy yourself an air con if you want no ones stopping you
Just my opinion and point of view as a newbie. No need to get defensive
We have sandy beaches - but only warmish water if one goes to the seaside on a hot day, BUT one MUST go swimming after the tide is in!
Why is that?
Unfortunately in the UK you want somthing there is a list that's why people complain.
Disagree but appreciate the comment
We'll get the beaches swept and the water warmed up. Perhaps you're in the wrong country ? Think about moving to the Netherlands and have a moan about how flat it is.
Seems a bit of an overreaction but I appreciate your comment
I need to say the amount if American reactors that have frequent respiratory tract infections tell me that you would be better off without air conditioning. I'm always amazed at the number who complain about colds throat infections etc and never relate to their reliance on air conditioning
AC may be part of that. I’m sure it’s not exclusive though, considering several people in the US live with crappy healthcare
Norfolk beaches are all glorious, however the sea is chuffing cold
True about the roads... good training for accident situations; we are pre-trained to squeek past when drivers grt too close.
lol, pebble beaches, well that comes down to where you go...I'm guessing you are in Kent or Sussex where there are a lot of pebble beaches, but get out of there and there are some glorious sandy beaches. The cold water, well yes, the channel is very cold and always will be, same as a lot of northern latitude beaches in the US...right!?
As much as I hate to admit it, we do complain a lot but tend to keep it among ourselves and are often too polite to do anything about it. Thus it doesn't get sorted so we have even more to complain about. It's a an unbroken circle of sheer madness!
A great way to describe it. I’m used so more directly addressing situations…thx for the comment
It’s okay, you’re allowed to complain. People just being super patriotic. There are lots of gorgeous sandy beaches, Cornwall, wales, Dorset etc etc
Thank you. Appreciate it
Suggest you move to Blackpool, the beach is not pebbles and there are no hills.
Adding it to my list...thanx.
As for the Dark Winters, just look how closer we are to the North Pole as opposed to the USA, Winter hours of day light 8am to 3.30PM - Summer Daylight Hours 3.30AM to 10 or even 11 PM in Northern Scotland. I hope you enjoyed your time in the UK and now you know what to expect would you visit again? Tony in Essex.
She's not visiting, she lives here.
Yep we're on the same latitude as Hudson Bay so we're up there with the Polar Bears.
I live here….
Wear beach/water shoes, swim in the sea regularly, even in those dark winters, then you'll be able to walk up inclines. Oh, and you won't need air-conditioning and it'll boost your immune system sufficiently to stop moaning. It's been a horrid winter, but here's the thing: we all know about it and there's sweet Fanny Adams we can do about it. We're all in the same boat. Just put a bit of extra butter on your bread and Bob's your uncle. Bread and butter is our bread and butter; it's a common collocation for a reason.
What’s up with your profile picture
So,.you say the main thing you don't like about us, is the complaining, and then spend the rest of the post complaining. Congratulations!!! You're a true Brit.😊😊
Y’all are rubbing off on me
Why all the hate ? Just an ignore it, I appreciate your thoughts. American friends of mine have commented on the butter and I can understand it. But the butter seals the filling in and stops the bread getting soggy if you’re eating the sandwiches later. Winters are brutal in the U.K.
totally up to you about the butter in your own home. How can you not like butter? Do you not like dairy at all, how about cheese? Butter in the US isn't a cultural staple because it just wasn't really available in the early decades of the colonies
Of course sandwiches have butter on them. It's not a sandwich otherwise.
If you get a chance, try cromer Beach. It's in North norfolk. it's got a beautiful sandy beach. It's our favourite place i highly recommend ❤
Yes…I will definitely try it. Thx 😊
No hills in Norfolk either
Charlottesville is also very hilly
I only have butter if I dont have anything else or the sandwich I'm making is dry ? like just a cheese sarnie ( many of us use this word as an affectionate name for a sandwich)
But if I've got some mayo or sauces I dont require butter at all.
If you miss air conditioning during hot weather and you feel truly flustered and sweaty , maybe go for a cheap night in an English hotel especially the Holiday inns they are darted all over the country they double up as a heater and air conditioning unit in one ❤️
There are many things you mentioned that probably aggravate us too ..
But I dare say we are so used to it all that it becomes second nature
I'm pleased you're able to compare as it helps people I reckon, not to take stuff for granted ..
I bet there are lots of things in the US I could probably praise or dislike ..but overall, we each have pro's and cons dont we?
I just hope in time you can get used to our little 'niggles'
And welcome to England love..
Its not easy and I understand the difficulties and adjustments you have had to face ..but you'll be fine I'm sure 💐🤗🌹
Thank you very much. I appreciate the suggestions and the comments
You ARE an alien when in the UK (when in Rome and all that) - our norm is to have butter on sandwiches, however it's rare for a sandwich shop to not serve un-buttered fresh sandwiches if you ask for one
Yeah-my problem is I always forget to ask! 🤨
An old Aussie joke runs: How can you tell when an aircraft full of Pommies lands? Because it carries on whining even after the engines are switched off. 😊
Aussie's don't do jokes.
@@marpop99😂
Funny...
complaining is definitely one of our favourite pastimes. Most of the time it's tongue in cheek and we don't REALLY mean it. It's part of the humour. We know we're complaining, but we do it anyway LOL I can see how it might seem weird.
As for our "beaches" - they're utterly tragic. Our beaches are nowhere near as good as USA or Thai beaches for example. But I think that's mostly due to our weather being hit and miss (mostly miss lol)
We’re not bothered love us in England are not bothered about 😂😂😂😂😂 🇬🇧 long live 🇬🇧
lol 🤣
I live in a county known for being flat, on a little island that has a lovely sandy beach. When I was in the US I was horrified about mayo on sarnies 🤢. I definitely think that you live in the wrong part of the country
Maybe…I’ll have to explore more when I get a chance
Honestly I never noticed that it wasn’t normal (in other countries) to not have butter on bread all the time until I visited Spain in 2020 and was very surprised that they don’t butter their bread over there!
I’ve been to the US but I never noticed that butter wasn’t always on bread 🤔 maybe it was because I didn’t have any sandwiches?
When I first heard Americans didn’t use butter on their sandwiches I was also pretty surprised ! 😮
I know people who eat just bread and butter but usually have some type of spread on their sandwiches. (Butter never included)
The funny thing is..all the things you hate about england. You can't change..so don't worry 😊
Thx for your support! 🤣
Most people get defensive when outsiders criticises us. I recall being in Australia eons ago, and someone made a joke about the royal family. I was irrationally unsettled, even though I have never given two hoots about them!
Haha. I hear ya.
I agree, if moaning was an Olympic sport we'd win gold everytime. As for air conditioning, I've spoken about this for ten years. You cannot sleep at night because its so muggy in summer and one day it was 109 where i live. You have freedom of speech to say whatever you like. If some don't like it then tough, it's only your personal opinion and every individuals preferences are different. Keep up you content 😊
It’s amazing how hard it is for people to admit things to themselves
@@TheHicksonDiaries no country or person is perfect. It’s not utopia 😀
I live in the north and our beaches on the east coast are fantastic, I love walking my dogs on the beach. Scarborough/bridlington sand is good. I agree water is cold most of the year.
I lived in the us for 6 yrs, glad to be back home, oh and my house has reverse cycle air conditioning and I wouod miss not having it, but it’s available.
I can’t wait to get up there and see the beaches there
Yep I agree 👍 😂
Which thing in particular…just curious
I for one am so glad we don’t have air conditioning here, I can’t stand it at all. It doesn’t agree with my joints and muscles and I’d take being a hot and sweaty mess lol 😂
Haha 😝. I guess it’s not so bad-depending on what you’re doing to get to that state. 😉
The lack of sun and grey clouds is why we moan and whinge... :)
I can see that
Yes, over in Australia we are "whingeing pommes"!
Pommes?
Doesn’t everyone whinge? We’re just honest about it! Don’t know what I’d do without a good moan! 😂Hills 😂 We have plenty of sandy beaches, I could never go on a pebble beach I’d rather not bother. Our winters for the last couple of years have been very mild and most days have been dull and depressing. Usually you have a mixture of dull dark days and bright sunny winter days. The weather is a lot milder in winter than it used to be on the whole we still can have severe weather every now and again though. Yes the dark nights and mornings get you down the older you get but if we have had a good summer it’s not so bad to deal with. Don’t forget in summer we have long days of sunlight too!
most of our beaches are sand
Only seen one since I’ve been here. But hopefully will find them soon
I love Butter but not on all sandwiches, In the states most sandwiches have Mayo not Butter, I dislike Mayo and have to ask for everything Plain and Dry, I get the weirdest looks at times, its no biggy.
I’m not a big fan of mayo either tbh.
Well I hope things get better for you. You made some valued points and I live here so understand but it isn’t terrible the driving yes but then we are taught to drive to a UK standard so it’s not like the states with huge lanes but is daunting at first I hope you find some happiness here and find things you will enjoy. It’s always trial and error good luck
Thank you. Overall I love it here. But can’t deny I’ve had some struggles
For me complaining isn’t whinging, it’s just something to talk about. When I complain about the weather, I’m not doing it just be “negative” I’m doing to make small talk with someone, usually someone I don’t know very well or when I was to fill a awkward silence.
Oh this silence is getting a bit awkward
“You know the weather is pretty miserable today”
“Oh yeah and-“ a good gate way into a conversation. Though if the person doesn’t want to talk they’ll just agree and add nothing on and I’ll get the hint to not talk 😅
Same to do with transportation :)
I think in general England tends to be pretty flat so I think you might have chosen it’s just your specific town 😅
I do live in the county Hertfordshire and it’s very flat around here so yeah I think it’s your county or town you are in, not that England in general is very hilly but that’s just from my perspective 😁
In the UK we have 1,500 sandy beaches (I did look this up😅) probably not loads compared to the US ha! But considering our small land mass I’d say it’s okay! Just make sure to always check what type of beach you’re going to first 😁
I’m compiling a list of the sandy beaches so we can test them out.
dark winters? I'm guessing you are originally from a southern state in the US.....I think you need to move to a country in the middle east. long dark winter nights are the norm in a large part of the world. Even down here in Western Australia, during the winter months it doesn't get light until after 7am, but during the summer it will start getting light around 4am, it's all to do with how far you are from the equator...it has nothing to do with England, just where you live
To endure the cold, eat more fat, wear goid insulating clothes and use muscles to keep warm - or hibernate as suggested :-)
Hibernation works for me! 🤭
Would you move back to the states.?
Depends on where the country is
Lots of fat GOOD.
Lots of sugar and peocessed carbohydrates BAD.
We like to live longer?
Also earing fat is especially good in Autumn and winter - eat like a polar bear to withstand the cold!
Haha. 😝
I don’t know if you are based in the county of Kent or not but You’ve not travelled far out around the coast have you? 😏🤔 Camber SANDS (emphasis on the SANDS part of it!!!). The SANDY beach is over two miles long in some places and when the tide is out, it will take a good five minutes to be able to dabble your tootsies in the freeeezing cold sea as you walk across a SANDY SHORELINE…
And there’s Margate, Ramsgate, Broadstairs…… real proper sand!!
As for complaining….no offence, but you are a gold medal standard! 🥇
No doubt you will whinge when the sun rises at about 4.30/5.00am and it’s waking you up too early (blackout curtains *hint*) and as it’s still not dark at 9.00pm, there will be
too much noise coming from people outside in the garden next door 🤫
AC should be known as “artificial conditioning” - why put a machine on, that’s using chemicals to freeze a room? Open a window and let the real atmospheric air in the house.
Our weather? Terrifying tornadoes in Texas today…. 😉
And butter… ??? Life without it on a piece of hot crusty toasted bread would be very dull and dry 😫
But why butter AND jam…?
@@TheHicksonDiaries because it is proper blimming bloody gawjjj!! It also makes the jam easier to spread if butter is involved! Have you tried toast with butter and marmalade yet?? Lubbleee! 😍😍
No. Just marmalade tho-banging
You're going to the wrong beaches.... We have loads of sandy beaches
I found one but it wasn’t the best-time for more exploring
Yeh your right about the hills you go out somewhere you go up a hill you come back and your still somehow going up a hill you never seem to go downhill and yeh our winters are right poxy here just grim
Seriously? The hill thing-I’m getting better but it’s not easy
You get used to the hills. You don't look old - esp. compared to me 🙂
Thx. I hope so. 🤞
Whinging is a National Pastime when we have nothing Important to say. You would soon moan if we never spoke to anyone who we did not previously know. YES the water is COLD, just as it is arround Newfoundland and Alaska. Tony in Essex.
lol 🤪. You’re funny! Thx for your comments!
You haven't been in the UK long, have you? Why don't you embrace the differences? Instead of hating the things that are different, try understanding why they are different. Hating the hills and pebbles?!?! Quite pathetic to hate "dark winters." Jeez ... sounds like you might want to limit your experiences to living in your hometown in the US.
So you love everything about living in England I guess?
@@TheHicksonDiaries I don't live in England. Try a wee bit further north. What I dislike about the UK is the racism. I dislike the "woke" movement. I dislike the "Stop oil" movement. But hating weather, beaches and hills because they are different from what you're used to seems a waste of energy.
U have a right to ur opinion
All perfectly valid points, particularly driving and surviving our winters. They take some getting used to.
Thanks so much, appreciate it!
I knew i'd see "whining american..." comments when i scrolled down. It happens every time I see "things i don't like about {country}" videos. I think you should have combined it with your "Why England is Better Than the US 🏴🇺🇸American in England" video, then it would come across as a comparison video rather than a complaints video.
Anyway, I have to agree with all the points here except the beaches. Only the southeast beaches have stones, the rest are all sand. But even the beaches with sand are still miserable, so don't bother seeking them out. 🤣 The only nice beaches in the UK are around Poole and Cornwall at the height of summer. As for the winters, London is the same altitude as Calgary in Canada, and Manchester -> Edmonton. I don't know why, but most people, including myself, find it surprising. The mental model i have of the world in my head has Europe and North America more closely aligned with each other.
It was inevitable…yes. I’ve heard Cornwall is a must visit in the summer
Just move to East Anglia - next to The Netherlands - nice and flat :-)
Is it close to Amsterdam?
Oh dear I cringed when I read what this vlog was about. I knew many would not be happy 🤦♀️ but you are allowed your opinion & allowed to voice them so beaches… we have many sandy beaches. Where I live in Merseyside we have brilliant sandy beaches Crosby & Formby are my favourite.,oi think maybe it’s just where you live you have pebbled beaches.,get out & about travel around you’ll see what I mean. The roads can be a bit if a nightmare. I think here in the UK 🇬🇧 we have good drivers. Cann park really well too. It’s driving on windy roads. Avoiding pot holes is a game! I’ve not really thought about it but maybe we do whinge a fair bit. Not thought about it to be honest. I moan mainly about pot holes as they rip my bloody tyres to pieces. It’s a nightmare! As for butter on sandwiches etc I think it’s like the Americans using ranch on everything. If you are out & want a sandwich just say no butter please. Ignore the looks although I find it odd you get looks of disdain because you don’t like butter. I always say no mayo as I hate it. Marmite was made by the devil it’s bloody awful as is the Aussies Vegemite 🤮 everything you say you hate isn’t too bad really. Now if you said I hate your police & normal people in general don’t have guns I’d be worried or that not going bankrupt getting anything medical . I think on the whole your list isn’t soo bad. And see watch you vlog back you are becoming Anglophiled by whining whinging & moaning about things you hate in the UK 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 seriously though your list isn’t too bad. But I know you will of rubbed a little of Brits up the wrong way. I read the title & thought oh lord …. Noooooooo don’t do it 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Msybe to counter act things do a vlog saying 7 things you hate about America. Then 2 more about things you love about the UK then the US. Best wishes hun. From Lyn in Liverpool UK 🇬🇧
I have a few vlogs out already about how much I love it here. People just have short memories. I knew it’d be a controversial one but I don’t mind. It’s my POV - and it’s honest. Thx for your support as always
@@TheHicksonDiaries I need to re watch them hun. I suffer with short term memory issues . I’ve probably watched them as well & just forgotten 🤦♀️🤣 I have to laugh at myself or I’d cry. Best wishes as always hun xx
No worries. The channel can always use more views. So watch as much as you want. Xxxx
Hi Mandy, it's good to get these things out in the open and off your chest as bottling things up isn't good. Having a good old moaning and groaning session now and again can be a good way of ridding a build up of stress. I think we all feel better after having a good whinging session, that said ... laughter is always the best medicine to loosen up and to feel better, on that subject ( laughter ) ... Keep out of the black, stay in the red, you get nothing in this game for Two in a bed 🤣🤣.
LOL....can always count on you Michael...thanks as always!
Go in the sea & swim for a bit, you soon warm up
The sea here is freezing. 🥶
