It's not hard to beat the world record for a game like this cause there's not exactly alot of competition. That's coming from a huge AC fan. There's just not alot of AC speedrunners tbh. There should be! Great run regardless, and thank you for doing it because I looked this up not expecting to find an AC1 speedrun.
@@SkreltNL well, if you compare basic and archaic AC1 to ACB or let's say ACU, that is really easy. Yes the game has a lot of traps and bugs, but generally it is more scripted than RNG-based, most of the reactions can be predicted, most of the routes can be perfected to minimum, to start an assassination memory (which complete main memory block) only 3 investigation missions have to be completed, two of which can be either pickpocket or eavesdrop - which are nothing to do compared to collecting flags or killing targets for info. Future games have more difficult and divers mission all of each must be perfectly remembered, AC1 has a tedious side of things in comparison, each section plays always the same with little changes, including higher notoriety or some roadblocks. I'm pretty sure if there will be fans that are invested in learning each and every piece of engine and AI of the first one, it can be possible to bypass under 2 hours mark for Any% AC1 speedrun. For now, just in theory.
A few Tipps not for the game itself but for preparation. Have a good nights sleep before the run to boost your fokus. Eat a energizing breakfast. Don't look at screens the day before and on the speedrun day before the speedrun to not fatigue your eyes. Use the elite controller because you can theoretically shorten trigger press time. And most importantly go out for a little run and move around outside before the run which helps providing your brain with more oxygen. take a cold shower after that and than you have dine everything you can to prepare.
Awesome effort james. I genuinely think ever you or leo k can do this perfectly. This is your game. Seiing everybody being so supportive is a Joy and I am too. You can do this no worries
Lol I can only imagine how you feel. I get frustrated with him jumping the wrong way when I’m doing a normal play through 58:58 . And you did a speed run that somehow is around the same length of the cutscenes only videos for this game. Pretty impressive
I believe that each assassination is triggered by the act of a specific assassination within the boundaries of the area that the target resides, if, once entering into the area that triggers the cutscene, the game must (for whatever reason) only register the target as an enemy, so if you assassinate anyone within the area during the cutscene trigger, the game assumes it was the target and triggers the cutscene that plays after the kill, throwing you past the entire scene. That might not be right but it's the only reading I can make as to why this works, and not just on Abu'l but on William and Robert too

He's only gone and bloody done it and broken the world record!
And he is the world record holder now. Well deserved one
Turn off chat my guy. You're honestly better off doing this off-stream, as there will be far fewer distractions.
Can’t do it off stream, you need livestream evidence to prove it.
Chat is also part of the fun. I just need to learn to look a tad less 😂
I don't think the chat is the issue AC1 has quite a lot of downtime naturally haha
@@LazerzZ not really, you can just record it

Does anyone know how the Abu'l assassination worked? I've never seen it done that way
