Reminds me of my late maternal grandfather😊
😮 cool
What a moving performance by Madam Ekoyo Bassey and Obong Ekpe Ekpeyong Eyo. This is how it was in the beginning of time, before man invented writing Oration was the means of transferring knowledge and history to the community. History was chanted and recited, using pros, call and response, as well as specialized sounds to emphasize an emotion. This is so fundamental in understanding the musical trends of today, like Rap Music, Soul Music and Rhythm and Blues. The spirit of the ancestors is extolled and implored to participate and guide in the recitation, which is similar to the tradition of Negro Spirituals during the era of slavery in the Americas. Thank you Dr. Miller for this presentation.

SÚPER COOOL!!!
Eka mi abasi odion usen emana fo
If you can’t sing after booze, forget it! 🫣
This is absolutely wrong for obvious reasons, any Ekpe initiate will know why......I will leave it at that.
Because men have been suppressing women in everything that is why you are saying this.
......yak ana do da!
Not quite surprising these days. When Ekpe group is turning gospel songs into Ekpe songs and adorning the masquerade like clown costumes, anything goes now.
Isong Efik idihe aba Efik…
