Fun fact: Bette Midler actually said she styled Winifred's hair after Queen Elisabeth I. So yes, the movie is set a century after Elizabeth but as many have pointed out it fits the narrative because we don't actually know how old they are. Assuming they have been regularly steeling youth they could be centuries old.
just love that not only are you as historically correct as you can be, but you are having so much FUN in that outfit. I just love people acting goofy in gowns. Makes people of history seem more alive and... real? Although, of course Winifred Sanderson wasn't REAL, thats just a fairy tale so scare little kids........ or is it? mwahahahah
I find it really interesting that Winifred's hair is an older style to 1690, as she is supposed to be an old woman in 1690, and stole youth to look that young, meaning her hair style could be a throwback to her youth.
People at times, kept hairstyles from their younger days & that shouldn’t surprise us - just like fashions didn’t change as rapidly, pre-19th c- hairstyles were probably even slower to change - I read about a woman, who was a old lady by the time the English Civil Wars rolled around- but she stubbornly kept her high roll hairstyle from the later Elizabethan era... I think there might have been a lot of people a bit like Violet in ‘Downtown Abbey’...
@@OcarinaSapphr- For old women to keep their out of fashion styles was also a good sign that she wasn't too concerned with her appearance as that might mean she was on the lookout for a man.

Your Winifred cosplay turned out amazingly!!! Love the stomacher! You three get up to the best shenanigans! ;) Thanks for taking us along on the dress journey!
I adore watching Abby and Christina lose track of the choreography and just slowly turn to each other while Nicole is too busy living it up to notice Loved this series and can't wait to see whatever you have in store next
wasn't just young woman, there were rules for many ages. Just depends on which era you look at. And all of them penalised woman who were not "of means" like we often still do today.
Well, it wasn’t just women- & it wasn’t just the poor, either- rich commoners were probably more affected by sumptuary laws, than ‘the average Joe’... but I get what you’re saying.
This entire process was incredible from start to finish and the end result was, of course, beautiful. Also, incredibly educational! I feel a keen interest to go do more research into this specific era of fashion. Thank you for sharing your efforts!
I’m always so cautious when engaging with unknown-to-me costumers. Some of them can be downright mean if not just pedantic and stuck up. YOU are a treasure and I waited far too long for the pleasure of “meeting” you. ❤️
Well that was awesome! The gown was already spectacular, but the embroidery on the stomacher shot it completely out of the park! Delightful play companions! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🖤
Basically Winifred had kept the hairstyle of her younger years (Don't forget they are elderly women that only appear young because they steal the lives of children), the other two just went and had some fun with their style. Do love the Silk info. Did not know that before. You did seem to have had a lot of fun. :}
This wondrous bit of historical hocus pocus made my day. You guys are fantastic and I love how the costumes turned out. Also thank you for the hilarious acting.
YES! It looks AMAZING! I love it so much; the embroidery on the stomacher is so cool and definitely ties it all together. I desire nothing in the world but friends like yours:)
I watched Hocus Pocus for the first time last night and not only does this video now make a lot more sense, but I had fun spotting the iconic moments you three reenacted here!
This is fantastic!! That stomacher is bad ass!!! Great job!!! And you really kinda look like her with that wig and the way you did your make up!!! I love it! I also love your partners in crime. This made me smile and giggle. Thank you.
I just watched all 3 parts and found it to be delightful and entertaining to watch. I loved the attention to detail and historical accuracy in the costume. I definitely appreciated her letting us know what she did that wasn’t entirely accurate or what she changed and what she would change if she had to do it again. Can’t say that I will make one, but it’s nice to know that if I ever do want to all the information is here.
Very well done! I love how you kept your composer on the bridge (?) and the other ladies were like “what’s happening”. I love the stomacher with the book inspiration. Makes me want to do a 1950’s version. Next year... hmmm.
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!! Nicole you make the perfect Winifred!! Both your cohorts were fantastic, and acting out some of the scenes from the movie were hilarious!!A+++ - this was just so fun :)
This is Fabulous! Winnie is my favorite and she is my favorite to go as besides the bride of Frankenstein. Love that Stomacher. Fabulous Embroidery. I need to get my head out of..... and get to work. I also need to learn to do all my stuff right handed since I'm going to have to have surgery on my dominant shoulder soon. This was Wonderful!!! Absolutely Wonderful My 'Mary' and 'Sarah' both Fabulous friends, passed away within the last 4 years. Too Young and very missed. So we haven't done them in a while. I'm so glad you have these people in your life.
OMG! This brought me so much JOY! and AMAZEMENT!! Why is everything you do so awesome?? And three wonderful ladies together whom I love. Perfect. Must have been made by magick!
I still don’t know how I’ve never watched this Hocus Pocus project series!?! So fun and delightful! Brought me a lot of joy today. I also loved watching you style the wigs. That could be fun around Halloween. So many people getting dressed up and super fun to show us what kind of wig to purchase or order and some basic styling suggestions for a few different time periods, themes etc…. Might be fun. Hope your capsule cruise wardrobe is going well. So looking forward to seeing the results.
I may be watching this 2 yrs later but it’s just so much fun as the first time you played. I need to come up with a Winnie costume for this years Halloween so I’m getting a jump on it now. So I have 4 months, give or take, to do the costume, wig, which I’ll buy, sorry. Shoes makeup and everything else. Should be able to manage that. Famous last words. Great job girls, I loved this 🇦🇺❤️
I know this is late but I have to say that this was a wonderful project that you had done. Recreating the saunderson sisters costumes and making the historically accurate. I'd love to see more projects where movie garments are made accurate to the timeline.
I always wondered what they would be like as historicaly acurate. Wonder no more , that was fabulous and Kudos to you for the Mantua it turned out lovely
...we´re stuck on he floor, can´t get up to eat our pizza..... I laughed my ass off! That was an amazing vid. Thank you so much for sharing all of your research, work and fun!!
Amazing. You all looked fabulous. Still trying to work out that stitch you used on the snakes. I love it when you 3 get together. It always seems to end up with Shenanigans 🤣🤣
Oh to be a village weirdo with friends like that. Lifegoals.
I wanna watch how the neighbors react.
Right 😉🥰😎🙌🏽
The fact that you casually have a historically accurate Kathy Najimy cosplay in your closet is the most opulent flex I've ever seen.

She didn’t style anything. That would have been entirely up to the director and stylists.
the devil appearing before young women offering them silk... so... the devil is just creepy rich old men in general then?
Yup! Pretty much.
Sounds like a good way to get rid of a mistress.....

Came here to say this :D

@@mausemadchenmi7144 I would hope so given its weight and price point. Hahaha
I love the texture the stitch/thread has given the snake embroidery.
It is awesome, right?! ^^
Somehow getting stuck on the floor and losing a wig seems incredibly appropriate to the sisters 😂
I love how after Abby's wig came off it was just left there in the shot at the end. I don’t know why but this reduced me to a flood of giggles. 🤣
Go girl, stick it to the man with that silk hood!
Your Winifred cosplay turned out amazingly!!! Love the stomacher! You three get up to the best shenanigans! ;) Thanks for taking us along on the dress journey!
Your body language for Winnifred was spot on! 😍
I adore watching Abby and Christina lose track of the choreography and just slowly turn to each other while Nicole is too busy living it up to notice
Loved this series and can't wait to see whatever you have in store next
The embroidery was gorgeous. The costumes fabulous. Abby losing her wig priceless. Great video. 😍
Oh lordt, Abby's wig slowly fading away in the ending clip killed me, also I love the fit of the stays Christina was wearing..
Shenanigans and running amuck! The best kind of vlogs. Kind of frustrating to see dress codes that penalize young women have been around so long...

the fact that this only has 4600 views is CRIMINAL! I
You could even add a coin purse to the belt and it would be hidden by the fold of your Mantua
Historically accurate, exquisite craftsmanship, and Hocus Pocus. This is the greatest thing to ever grace the internet.
You did such an amazing job with everything! Even the wigs look great. 😄
You ladies seemed to have so much fun and enjoyment in all of this playing dress up. Love it.
