It really excels as a desk caddy. Those back pockets are a perfect place to put a work cell phone and a personal cell phone when you're sitting at your desk. I normally leave mine on my desk and only take it when I'm doing roving meetings. I think it's mostly a useful product if you tend to need to set up a Mobile station in multiple locations.
Having both, I regret buying the Cap2. It's great for those who have a tonne of gear but for everyday ppl, the Cap1 is so much more practical. Also I like their products but the whole designed in Montana thing is misdirection BS.
@@KelvinHew7 No, AER says Designed in San Francisco, which is fine. The problem is that Evergoods deceptively says "Developed" which is definitely meant to mislead people into believing its also MADE IN USA which it is NOT.
Yeah aer follows the apple approach with the designed in. I like my cap2 for work because it carries my mx masher as well. Which was in a separate carry case before because I had squashed a button on one of those before. So it doesn't really takes up more space.
Yeah at the price point and with the developed in I was one of those people who first thought it was made there. Although honestly, the people in Asia have such an expertise in building bags I don't see why it would be a negative. Just that there often is a premium price tag to US made.
This looks cool as a tech caddy, but after trying a bunch of tech and admin pouches out, i learned I prefer smaller, softer, lighter pouches, that also have external attachments that can do double duty as a sling or waist pack. The wandrd tech pouches have fit the bill the most for me, above even the stiffer alpakas. Conceptually some Tom bihns might fit the bill too.
I’m with you Jon. I love this tech pouch but since shooting this review (a month ago) I went back to the Bellroy Desk Caddy and loved how soft it was in comparison. Now I’m rocking the Modern Dayfarer Tech Pouch and it’s awesome too - love how slim it is
I disagree with headphones working. One reason I stick with Bose QC 35/45/SE etc is they do fit and fold up nicely, one reason I rejected the Sony’s MX5.
Agreed - I carried Bose QC Ultra over-the-ear headphones (until I gave them to my son) in my CAP2. They fit fine along with my cables, a battery, a small notebook, and a couple of charging blocks. Pens, erasers and a bunch of other stuff went in the top pocket.
I have from aer/alpaka/tomtoc and i can tell, this evergoods IS the GOAT when comes to tech pouch. The design is amazing and fit my gear perfectly. Alpaka Vertex is similar design, but when i fully load it, it does not fit nicely like CAP2. I think is the best , unfortunately, no strap comes with it.
its a limited edition version of the bag called the Griffin Collection. You might be able to buy one off the Nomads Nation Marketplace or Carryology Facebook Group
Interesting timing. I ordered a CAP2 earlier this week (before seeing this review), but I’m still super excited to get it. I also ordered some patches for the CAP2 and my CPL24!
Really like tis tech pouch and the alternatives as well. Have a couple of simple tech pouches that I have not use yet so might just start testing them out and see if I need to upgrade to a more functional tech pouch.
It was a toss up between the CAP2 and the Aer Cable Kit 3 and I went with the latter (IIRC the color/material combo I would have wanted for the Evergoods was not available) but I do love the conversion from pouch to caddy of the Evergoods. The CK3 is a great everyday tech pouch at home but experience has pushed me towards the Aer Slim pouch for minimalist travel, that thing can pack a lot more than its size looks! Great review as always!
I have the Aer Slim Pouch and CAP 2. The front organization of the Aer Travel Pack 2 and the Pouch combo is good enough where I’ve never taken the CAP 2 on a trip. 😅 I was tempted to repurpose the CAP 2 as a toiletry bag, but it’s not as functional as the Peak Design Wash Pouch!
In terms of design, this is in my top 3 for pouches: CAP2, PeakDesign Tech Pouch, and Bellroy Pencil Case. It’s a bit bulky and on the heavier side, but I use it for larger tech so it fits its role and it’s a known volume which I appreciate for packing. The PD tech pouch is the perfect small items pouch to efficiently organize all the little bits and bobs, but it can be overly complex if you just need to store a few things, and the accordion design means it can be easy to overfill the pouch and make it difficult to close. That’s where I love the pouches from Bellroy, especially the pencil case. Its simplicity yet considered construction doesn’t show as well on a flashy advertisement, but shines in daily use.
I have the PD Tech Pouch, but find it a bit too big for what I usually carry. I end up using the CAP1 or PGYtech Mini Tech Organizer most of the times, depending on whether longer and flatter, or shorter and bulkier fits better with the rest of what I pack. They both fit my mouse, 65W Anker wall plug, 3 USB-C cables, Samsung T7 SSD, Nitecore NB10000 power bank, AirPods Pro, a bunch of SD cards, thumb drive. And that's about all the tech I carry, and really don't see what else I could need...
I like this a lot, but weight and high price point turn me around. However when I am carrying external batteries I feel more calm with well padded pouches
I have a bright orange one that is my wife and my travel first aid kit. Then I have one that is my work kit which contains everything for a day at the office for me. So that and the laptop and I can work anywhere.
@@Nomads.Nation I actually would like an ASMR video of you saying in your most sultry voice, on a loop for 4 hours, "let me know down in the comments" or something about the link below. Better yet would be your sister doing it because, well, you're a guy. lol.
Not the GOAT. Sure, it's an interesting design. But it's too big and heavy. And inefficient. For it's size, it should hold 3L. It holds 2L due to all the padding and internal organization (8 ounces empty!!!)
Jack & Kevin originally planned to have their gear sewn/made in the US. After they worked with US manufacturers, who agreed to make them, they started taking orders… only to have the factory tell them they didn’t have the equipment & expertise to execute the technical designs. The only factories they could find capable of producing the original products was OCONUS. They then reached out to the community & offered to refund anyone who didn’t want bags made in Vietnam & reduced their price points. They’ve been very transparent though video, newsletters, & blogs & that info remains readily available. I don’t believe this is nearly as misleading as GORUCK spending years stating their gear was proudly made in the USA “and always well be” before moving the majority of their production to Vietnam & not making it obvious which products are made OCONUS.
Totally agree with you in regards to their launch. I know the story and they were class acts about it for sure. But the current branding 10+ years after their launch is a completely different discussion. Their current patch says 'Designed & Developed in Bozeman' with the 'Sewn in Vietnam' tag buried where its harder to find. To me that seems a bit misleading.
The way evergoods kind of hides the made in label irks me a bit too. They're not shy about the "designed and developed" in montana part, I just wish they'd have some respect for the people who actually make their stuff. Goruck does the same thing with their vietnam stuff, as if their "built in the usa" label is supposed to mean something other than overpriced 😂

Me: bag reviews 😅
You are very brave. I could never say that where I live - she would never want to see me again lol. But congrats for coming out!

Try Aer Slim Pouch, easy my most often used pouch

MX4s fold up really well, too. Sony somehow forgot that when making the version 5.
I am tempted to get over the ear headphones but I don’t even use my AirPods Pro that much.

will it fit inside an aer day pack 2?
I believe so but can’t say for sure

Where are you getting the blue color. They’re not selling it on their website right now
Limited release in the past.
They also have an ecopak version that is light blue available rn.
They are always doing new colors and limited drops - gotta grab them while they are available!
My go-to tech pouch is always Aer slim pouch, very soft, slim, and satisty when packing
Completely agree!
Quite small yet packs an impressive amount of gear, plus superb organization
It’s def one of the best

Are there any more affordable alternatives to the Orbitkey 2-in-1
Unfortunately not that I know of, I haven’t really reviewed any budget tech pouches, maybe Tomtoc has a few?
CAP2 rolls with me everyday, so good I own multiple for different applications, I do use the handle 😅. You already know I roll with the patch gang. 🤙🏽
oh yea, ur the captain of the patch gang lol
Cables in the mesh compartment
💪🏻
SD cards, SD adapters and bandages work in those flat outside pockets.
Great call!
Great. Love the handles for pulling this guy in and out of my pack. And I’m all about that custom patch life!
+1 for patch life!
I like this a lot, but weight and high price point turn me around. However when I am carrying external batteries I feel more calm with well padded pouches
Yes the padding is great for gear that needs a bit more protection
How about a review video review of the Mono Metro Hanging Toiletry Case - Thanks
I'll be sure to check it out
Isn’t design same as Alpaka Vortex Pouch?
very similar, but CAP2 was launched years before the Vertex was
Thanks. But my to go tech pouch is Aer Slim Tech Pouch.
@@tmir1107 love the Slim
I want the CAP 1 and 2 but I don’t know why lol
probably bc they are awesome 😉
As an alternative, if you want something slimmer but in the same style, can't go wrong with the CAP1
100%
Been waiting for this review!!!
Hope you like it!

nice!
Great for small camera, drones, or go pro kits
💯
Tempo tissues. And I probably would put band aids on the front pocket or maybe hidden spare cash but I’ll probably forget it’s there.
💪
Ooooohhhhh finally! I've been waiting on this one!!
Hope you enjoyed!
If I can't get it with the high-vis orange interior, I don't want it. They better get that orange in stock asap! haha
good luck! 🧡
I have had quite a few different versions of the CAP 2 over the years and love it. It’s worked as a Dopp kit, first aid kit, and general tech.
One of the best pouches out there
I love you Aaron but please cut down on the "Let me know down in the comments", like 4 mentions in a 10 min video 😅
